Spiritual decline....

The people of the present do not recognize where they are drifting. They are alive and yet dead in spirit. They find no connection with God because they do not seek Him. The earthly world means everything to them, but their train of thought does not go beyond that. And therefore every day is spent uselessly in a spiritual sense.... higher development is called into question, indeed, a spiritual regression is often recorded which has tremendously serious consequences. And even if people are made aware of their actual task on earth, they do not listen to such ideas because once again the world and its demands seem to be the only important thing to them. And thus their earthly course is a misguided one, for these people the earth is not what it should be.... And God's love and wisdom does not allow people to misuse their earthly life, to give it a different purpose than God has determined, for His instructions are wise and unsurpassable. But if the human being no longer recognizes God's wisdom he also disregards His instructions and this can only lead to the downfall of that which is supposed to develop upwards. But an upward development can only take place when the human being makes contact with the spiritual and ignores the world. But humanity is disenchanted, it hurries and chases after earthly goals, it is incapable of a spiritual connection because it is unwilling, for striving for the spiritual seems worthless to it since it does not result in earthly success.... And this is spiritual decline.... This is a state which God does not stand idly by but which He tries to remedy by shaking people out of their spiritual lethargy through events which strongly shake people's thinking. God has all power, and He will truly also prove His power to people so that they will learn to recognize Him and seriously try to think about the meaning and purpose of earthly life. And thus He will first take away from people what has occupied their thoughts up to now.... earthly goods and earthly pleasures. They should first recognize the worthlessness of this in its transience and, after times of disappointment, reflect on the only thing of value.... about the relationship between man and God.... He seeks to awaken in them the desire for imperishable good by abandoning to decay everything that has dominated their thinking up to now. And this is the purpose of the coming events which God inevitably has to let come upon people so that they will still utilize the rest of their lives for the salvation of their souls, which so far had to do without all care....

La inervención de Dios

Los hombres del tiempo presente no reconocen a donde van a parar. Viven y sin embargo están muertos en el espíritu, no encuentran ninguna comunicación con Dios, porque ellos no lo buscan. El mundo terrenal significa todo para ellos, pero más allá de eso no va su raciocinio. Y por eso cada día está gastado inútilmente en sentido espiritual, el desarrollo superior es dudoso, sí, con frecuencia se anota un retroceso espiritual que repercute monstruosamente, de consecuencias graves, y aunque se les avisa a los hombres acerca de su verdadera tarca terrenal, no prestan atención a tales advertencias, porque les parece de nuevo el mundo y sus exigencias lo único importante. Y de ese modo es fracasada su marcha por la tierra, para estos hombres no es la tierra lo que debiera ser. Y el Amor y la Sabiduría de Dios no tolera que los hombres abusen de su vida terrenal dandole otra finalidad que la que Dios le ha determinado, pues Sus disposiciones son sabias e insuperables. Mas si el hombre no reconoce más la Sabiduría de Dios, desdeña de ese modo también Sus disposiciones, y esto sólo puede conducir a su hundimiento lo que debiera en cambio evolucionar hacia arriba. Una evolución puede ir sólo adelante, si el hombre se pone en contacto con lo espiritual y deja el mundo sin hacerle caso. Mas la humanidad está hecha un estafermo, se precipita y corre a la caza de metas terrenales, ella es incapaz de ponerse en contacto con lo espiritual, porque de mala gana aspira a lo espiritual, pareciéndole que es sin valor, puesto que no le aporta ningún éxito terrenal. Y eso es la decadencia espiritual ese es un estado al que Dios no puede estar mirando con los brazos crudados, sino el que Él trata de remediar sacudiendo Él a los hombres de su letargía espiritual con sucesos que estremecen fuertemente el modo de pensar de los hombres, para despertarlos.

Dios tiene todo poder, y Él en verdad, demostrará también Su Poder a los hombres, para que aprendan a reconocerle y traten de reflexionar seriamente sobre el sentido y la finalidad de la vida terrena. Y de ese modo les quita Él primero a los hombres eso, que absorve su mente más hasta ahora: Bienes terrenales y alegrías terrenales. Para que reconozcan como primero la futilidad de lo perecedero y reflexionen, después de tiempos de decepción, sobre lo único que es valedero, sobre la relación, del hombre a Dios. Él intenta despertar en ellos el anhelo hacia los bienes imperecederos, entregando a la corrupción todo eso que ha dominado hasta ahora su mente. Y este es el motivo del suceso venidero que sin falta deja Dios que sobrevenga a los hombres, para que el resto de sus vidas lo aprovechen aún para la salvación de sus almas, las que hasta hoy tuvieron que carecer de toda clase de cuidado.
