Inner humility.... fight against spiritual arrogance....

People truly fall behind in their spiritual development if they do not endeavour to show inner humility, for then they lack grace, and without grace their will to ascend is weakened. For then their nature is still arrogant and still favoured by God's adversary. Anyone who lacks inner humility will also rarely accept a divine teaching if it is imparted to him by his fellow human being, for his arrogant spirit will defend itself against it through the influence of the adversary. And divine teachings strengthen the power to resist as soon as they are willingly accepted. Consequently, that person's power of resistance is only slight. There is still too much of the spirit in him which is to be overcome, the human being still has too many shortcomings which characterize his imperfection. Nor will he be meek and patient as long as he does not want to bow down to the one Whose approach he is supposed to strive for. For God cannot unite with a being that still harbours the arrogant spirit of its creator. Man must wage a constant battle with this arrogant spirit within himself, he must educate himself to humility through service, he must strengthen his will to do what seems unfeasible to him.... to bow down and serve where he wants to rule. He must take an example from his divine saviour, Whose life was one of service in love, service in the deepest humility towards His fellow human being. If a person endeavours to follow Jesus then he will also practice inner humility, he will fight all arrogance, he will incessantly ask for God's grace to do so and the strength to carry out his plan will come to him.... he will serve and thereby develop to the heights....

L’umiltà interiore - La lotta contro l’arroganza spirituale

Gli uomini che non si adoperano per nessuna umiltà interiore, rimarranno davvero indietro nel loro sviluppo spirituale, perché allora manca loro la Grazia e senza questa la loro volontà per l’Altura è troppo debole, perché allora il loro essere è ancora arrogante e rivolta all’avversario di Dio. Chi manca dell’umiltà interiore, non accetterà mai nemmeno un Insegnamento divino, quando gli viene trasmesso tramite dei prossimi, perché il suo spirito arrogante si ribella contro questo tramite l’influenza dell’avversario. Gli Insegnamenti divini rafforzano la Forza per la resistenza, appena viene accettato volontariamente. Di conseguenza la forza di resistenza di quell’uomo sarà solo scarsa. In lui c’è ancora troppo dello spirito che dev’essere superato, l’uomo ha ancora troppe manchevolezze che contrassegnano la sua imperfezione. Non sarà nemmeno mansueto e paziente, finché non si vuole piegare davanti a Colui, al Quale deve tendere per avvicinarsi, perché Dio non può unirSi con un essere che porta ancora in sé lo spirito arrogante del suo genitore. L’uomo deve condurre una costante lotta con lo spirito arrogante in sé, deve educarsi all’umiltà attraverso il servire, deve fortificare la sua volontà a fare ciò che gli sembra ineseguibile, piegarsi e di servire dove vorrebbe dominare. Deve prendersi un esempio nel suo divino Redentore, la cui Vita era un unico Servire nell’Amore, un Servire nella più profonda Umiltà verso i Suoi prossimo. Se l’uomo si sforza a stare nella successione di Gesù, allora eserciterà anche l’umiltà interiore, combatterà contro ogni arroganza, chiederà per questo ininterrottamente la Grazia di Dio e gli giungerà la Forza per eseguire il suo intento, servirà e con ciò si svilupperà verso l’Alto.
