Origin of thought in the heart of man....

Every thought emerges from the depths of the heart and only then makes its way into the organs intended for it, by which it is perceived and expressed as a thought. For before the thought becomes conscious to man, it must be born in the heart, i.e. in the innermost part of man. What moves him deeply, he feels in his heart, and this feeling gives rise to the thought, although it cannot be felt with the heart, but it is born out of the life of feeling and is only now transmitted to the brain, which receives the thought and holds it, so to speak, until it comes to the person's consciousness. Man believes that thought originates in the brain, that it arises there through organic activity.... because he knows nothing of the nature of thought. And therefore the explanation that thought originates in the heart will not be credible to him. But it will become more comprehensible to him if he regards the heart as the centre of his feeling.... if he also endeavours to regard the thought as a feeling. The simplest solution, however, is that spiritual currents pour like lightning into a receptacle and are held by the human will.... Thus the thought is spiritual power that is diverted to the brain via the heart, held there, or where the will is too weak, immediately dropped again without having penetrated the human being's consciousness. And it always depends on the will whether a thought is seized by the organs intended for this purpose, for as soon as the human being is willing they first come into function and receive the thought emerging from the heart and process it, that is, it is added to the already existing thoughts, thus it is, as it were, incorporated into already existing thought material and can now be switched off or switched on at will, depending on the human being's will. For man's organs of thought are so constructed that every feeling of the heart is reflected like an image.... (13.10.1941) And as soon as the human being's will pays attention to the image it will be retained, i.e., it will be imprinted into the finest retinas especially intended for this purpose and thus be visible to the human being at all times, that is, he will be able to visualize it if he wants to.... This is the so-called memory. When impressions or images are brought back to a person's consciousness a long time later, then the organs of thought are active.... Among the innumerable retinas covered with images, they find out what the human will wants to imagine, and thus impressions long past, which first moved the heart of man before they were formed into thoughts, can be brought back to memory at any time, because once they have been received by the will of man, they remain as impressions until innumerable impressions make the images unclear.... that is, the memory becomes so weak that they no longer come clearly to consciousness. Spiritual impressions will now displace earthly impressions and images.... If the heart is receptive to currents of power from the spiritual realm, the human will is also ready to convey and retain the thoughts that are now born in the brain. For it feels the stream of power favourably, and it strives to see the resulting images quite often and clearly. As a result, these images will become particularly sharply engraved, so that they soon fill the person's entire mind. power and thought are thus one concept, except that it differs whether only the life force flowing to the human being or the power conveyed from the spiritual realm is the origin of the thought.... But the thought is always born in the heart, because all power first flows to the heart and is transmitted from there. However, the human will can prevent the transmission to the brain or the thought can be pushed back before it can express itself visually.... And therefore the human being is also responsible for his thoughts, for his will determines which thoughts are clearly memorized and his will determines which thoughts are repeatedly brought to consciousness....

Ursprung des Gedankens im Herzen des Menschen....

Jeder Gedanke entsteigt der Tiefe des Herzens und nimmt nun erst seinen Weg in die dafür bestimmten Organe, von welchen er als Gedanke empfunden und zum Ausdruck gebracht wird. Denn ehe der Gedanke dem Menschen zum Bewußtsein kommt, muß er im Herzen, d.h. im Innersten des Menschen, geboren werden. Was ihn zutiefst bewegt, das empfindet er im Herzen, und dieses Empfinden läßt den Gedanken entstehen, zwar mit dem Herzen nicht spürbar, jedoch aus dem Empfindungsleben heraus geboren und nun erst dem Gehirn zugeleitet, das den Gedanken aufnimmt und ihn gewissermaßen festhält, bis es dem Menschen zum Bewußtsein kommt. Der Mensch glaubt, daß der Gedanke im Gehirn seinen Ausgang nimmt, daß er dort entsteht durch organische Tätigkeit.... denn er weiß nichts von dem Wesen des Gedankens. Und daher wird ihm die Erklärung nicht glaubhaft sein, daß der Gedanke im Herzen seinen Ursprung hat. Doch verständlicher wird es ihm werden, wenn er das Herz als Zentrum seines Empfindens betrachtet.... wenn er auch den Gedanken als eine Empfindung anzusehen sich bemüht. Die einfachste Lösung aber ist die, daß sich blitzartig geistige Strömungen in ein Aufnahmegefäß ergießen und vom Willen des Menschen festgehalten werden.... Also ist der Gedanke geistige Kraft, die über den Weg des Herzens zum Gehirn umgeleitet wird, dort festgehalten, oder wo der Wille zu schwach ist, sofort wieder fallengelassen wird, ohne in das Bewußtsein des Menschen eingedrungen zu sein. Und immer ist es vom Willen abhängig, ob ein Gedanke ergriffen wird von den dazu bestimmten Organen, denn sowie der Mensch will, treten diese erst in Funktion und nehmen den aus dem Herzen emporsteigenden Gedanken in Empfang und verarbeiten ihn, d.h., er wird den schon vorhandenen Gedanken beigesellt, er wird also gleichsam eingeordnet in schon vorhandenes Gedankengut und kann nun beliebig ausgeschaltet oder eingeschaltet werden, je nach dem Willen des Menschen. Denn die Denkorgane des Menschen sind so konstruiert, daß jedes Empfinden des Herzens sich einem Bild gleich widerspiegelt.... (13.10.1941) Und sowie nun des Bildes geachtet wird durch den Willen des Menschen, wird es festgehalten, d.h., es prägt sich in eigens dazu bestimmte feinste Netzhäute ein und ist so dem Menschen jederzeit ersichtlich, also er wird es sich vorstellen können, wenn er will.... Es ist dies das sogenannte Erinnerungsvermögen. Wenn Eindrücke oder Bilder lange Zeit nachher wieder dem Menschen zum Bewußtsein gebracht werden, dann sind die Denkorgane tätig.... Sie finden unter den unzähligen mit Bildern bedeckten Netzhäuten das heraus, was der menschliche Wille sich vorstellen möchte, und so können längst vergangene Eindrücke, die erst das Herz des Menschen bewegt haben, ehe sie zu Gedanken geformt wurden, jederzeit in Erinnerung gebracht werden, weil sie, einmal vom Willen des Menschen aufgenommen, als Eindruck bestehenbleiben, bis unzählige Eindrücke die Bilder unklar machen.... also das Erinnerungsvermögen so schwach wird, daß sie nicht mehr klar zum Bewußtsein kommen. Geistige Eindrücke nun werden irdische Eindrücke und Bilder verdrängen.... Ist also das Herz aufnahmebereit für Kraftströmungen aus dem geistigen Reich, so ist auch der menschliche Wille bereit, die nun geborenen Gedanken dem Gehirn zu vermitteln und festzuhalten. Denn er empfindet den Kraftstrom wohltätig, und sein Bestreben ist, die dadurch entstandenen Bilder recht oft und deutlich zu erschauen. Folglich werden diese Bilder besonders scharf sich eingraben, so daß sie bald das ganze Denken des Menschen erfüllen. Kraft und Gedanke ist somit ein Begriff, nur daß es unterschiedlich ist, ob nur die dem Menschen zugehende Lebenskraft oder die aus dem geistigen Reich vermittelte Kraft Ursprung des Gedankens ist.... Immer aber wird der Gedanke im Herzen geboren, denn jegliche Kraft strömt zuerst dem Herzen zu und wird von dort aus weitergeleitet. Es kann jedoch durch den menschlichen Willen das Weiterleiten nach dem Gehirn verhindert oder der Gedanke zurückgedrängt werden, ehe er sich bildmäßig äußern konnte.... Und daher ist der Mensch auch für seine Gedanken verantwortlich, denn sein Wille bestimmt, welche Gedanken sich klar einprägen, und sein Wille bestimmt, welche Gedanken immer wieder zum Bewußtsein gebracht werden....
