"Behold, I stand at the door and knock...."

There are countless moments in earthly life when God knocks on people's hearts and desires entry.... where He comes to them in the word, either through the mouth of man or through the voice of the heart. And not one person can say that God has not taken notice of him. He desires entry into every human heart in order to be able to take effect in it, for the transformation of the soul can only take place with the help of the power from God, which flows to the human being in His word. Thus the word of God must be listened to so that the human being comes into possession of the power from God through his life according to this word. It is the expression of His will which God sends to man through His word. If man now does the will of God, he no longer opposes his creator but recognizes Him. He therefore enters into the right relationship with God, he no longer goes against Him but with Him.... He unites himself with God, he submits himself to Him and from now on no longer does his own will, but the will of God. Although the human being still walks on earth, he is already an aspirant of the spiritual kingdom, for he has passed the probationary period on earth, which was only given to him in order to find union with God in it. Divine love itself now approaches him and remains in close union with him, it continues to feed him with the word, which is the bread of heaven for him. For God now refreshes the human being with the food of heaven, He gives Himself to him in the word and is therefore constantly with him. He imparts the knowledge of truth to him, and He turns the human being into a bearer of light who can and will work again out of his love, who is now likewise willing to love and wants to pass on divine gifts. And willing fellow human beings will now also be allowed to feast at the lord's table.... they too will be offered the bread in the word, without which man does not have the strength to walk the earthly path leading upwards. And those who hunger and thirst for the gift of heaven will be satisfied. It will be an uninterrupted giving and receiving of what God Himself hands out to those who grant Him admittance into their hearts. God Himself wants to be active in them, therefore He desires admittance again and again. If a person does not hear His knocking, if he does not want to listen when the divine voice sounds softly audible.... His voice becomes louder. Then He comes to people in the form of suffering and wants to make Himself known and offer them His help. He only ever demands that they listen to Him, that they heed His voice, that they do not close their hearts to His admonishing voice. For without His word the human being cannot live his earthly life according to divine will, for without His word he lacks all strength....

“보라, 내가 문 앞에 서서, 문을 두드린다."

하나님이 사람들의 심장을 두드리고, 방문하기를 원하는 순간이, 하나님이 사람의 입술이나, 심장의 음성을 통한 말씀 안에서 그들에게 다가오는 순간이 이 땅의 삶에서 무수하게 많이 있다. 사람은 하나님이 자신에게 주의를 기울이지 않았다고 말할 수 없다. 하나님은 사람의 심장 안에서 역사할 수 있기 위해, 모든 사람의 심장 안으로 들어가기를 원한다. 왜냐하면 혼을 변화시키는 일은 단지 하나님의 말씀 안에 거하는 하나님의 힘을 사람에게 흐르게 해주는 도움으로만 일어날 수 있기 때문이다.

그러므로 사람은 하나님의 말씀을 들어야만 한다. 이로써 사람이 이런 말씀대로 사는 삶을 통해 하나님의 힘을 얻어야 한다. 하나님이 자신의 말씀을 통해 사람들에게 주는 것은 하나님의 뜻의 나타남이다. 사람이 이제 하나님의 뜻대로 행하면, 그는 더 이상 창조주에게 저항하지 않고, 창조주를 인정한다. 그러므로 그는 하나님과 올바른 관계를 맺고, 더 이상 하나님께 대적하지 않고, 하나님과 함께 한다.

그는 하나님과 연결을 이루고, 하나님께 복종하고, 이제부터는 더 이상 자신의 뜻이 아니라, 하나님의 뜻을 따라 행한다. 인간이 아직 이 땅에서 살고 있지만, 그가 단지 하나님과의 연합을 이루기 위해 그에게 주어진 이 땅의 시험 기간을 통과했기 때문에, 그는 이미 영의 나라의 후보자이다.

하나님의 사랑 자체가 이제 그에게 다가와, 그와 밀접한 관계를 유지하며, 그에게 하늘의 양식인 말씀을 계속 공급한다. 하나님은 이제 하늘의 양식으로 사람들을 먹이고, 말씀 안의 자신을 주고, 끊임없이 그와 함께 한다. 하나님은 그에게 진리에 대한 지식을 주고, 그를 그가 다시 일할 수 있는 빛의 전달자로 만든다. 그는 그의 사랑이 동인이 되어, 이제 마찬가지로 자원하여 사랑을 행하고, 하나님의 선물을 전해주기를 원하게 될 것이다.

자원하는 이웃 사람들도 이제 또한 주님의 식탁에서 잔치를 즐길 수 있게 될 것이다. 그들에게 또한 말씀 안의 양식이 제공된다. 이런 양식이 없이는 인간은 가장 높은 곳으로 이어지는 이 땅 길을 걸어갈 힘이 없다. 하늘의 선물을 굶주려 하고, 목말라 하는 사람은 배부르게 되고, 갈증을 해소하게 될 것이다. 하나님이 그들의 심장 안으로 들어가도록 허락하는 사람들에게 준 것을 중단 없이 받고, 주게 될 것이다.

하나님 자신이 그들 안에서 역사하기를 원한다. 때문에 하나님은 항상 또 다시 들어가기를 갈망한다. 사람이 두드리는 소리를 듣지 못한다면, 하나님의 음성이 부드럽게 들릴 때, 듣기를 원하지 않는 사람에게 하나님의 목소리가 커지게 된다. 그러면 하나님은 고통의 형체로 사람들에게 다가 가, 그들이 자신을 알아볼 수 있게 하고, 도움을 청하게 되기를 원한다. 하나님은 항상 단지 그들이 자신의 말을 듣고, 자신의 목소리에 주의를 기울이고, 자신의 훈계하는 음성에 심장을 닫지 않기를 요구한다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 말씀이 없이는 인간이 하나님의 뜻에 따라 이 땅의 삶을 살 수 없기 때문이다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 말씀이 없이는 그에게 어떤 힘도 없기 때문이다.
