The inner voice....

Man needs a reminder, for he is very often in danger of forgetting himself and his endeavours, and then he must be warned or admonished against bad or too good actions. And this is also a favour from God, a means of upliftment that God gives him in His love. God does not abandon man to his self-chosen fate. If he threatens to go wrong ways, then the admonisher in him will make himself heard loudly and he will always speak against it and advise him to leave what he intends to do and to endeavour to do good deeds. And the will must now be active to follow this inner voice. Although this will often involve an inner struggle, no spiritual progress can be achieved without a struggle. Listening to the voice within is extremely important and will soon bring the human being's soul a state of maturity, for it is the divine voice which sounds within the human being, which only needs to be heeded and will then also bring certain success. Yet at present this inner voice is paid little attention to, it is drowned out by the voice of the world, for the latter audibly reaches the human being's ear, but the inner voice sounds so softly that it has to be heeded, that everything external has to fall silent if its sound is to be heard. But the voice of God can only be heard by those who want to hear it, the voice of God will never sound loud and audible to the world but will only sound softly and delicately in the heart, and therefore anyone who wants to hear it must withdraw into his innermost being and now pay attention to what God wants to say to him. Listening inwardly is the only thing God requires of people in order to give them information. Very often a person is inclined to heed the voice of the world, and if God does not always want to take the path to people, the voice of the world would soon drown out the inner voice and the shaping of the soul would then be called into question. For it is absolutely essential for the soul's development that the human being makes contact with spiritual strength as far as possible, since the inner voice is likewise the effect of spiritual forces on the human being, and that these, if they express themselves, must also be heard, otherwise their strength will remain ineffective. God's love constantly endeavours to make the human being's path on earth as easy as possible; if the human being makes use of the means of help which are abundantly offered to him by God then it will not cost him a great struggle to ascend. For as long as the human being is willing, God is also willing to give him every help in order to make his time on earth a blessed time, if the human being gratefully accepts God's help and pays attention to what God wants to tell him....

De innerlijke stem

De mens heeft iemand nodig die hem waarschuwt, want hij verkeert heel vaak in het gevaar om zichzelf en zijn streven te vergeten en dan moet hij gewaarschuwd worden voor een slecht of goed handelen. En dit is ook een genade van God. Een hulpmiddel op de weg omhoog, dat God hem in Zijn liefde doet toekomen. God laat de mens niet aan zijn zelfgekozen lot over.

Wanneer hij een verkeerde weg dreigt te gaan, dan laat degene die hij in zich heeft om hem te waarschuwen zich luid opmerken en hij zal hem steeds aanspreken en hem adviseren om te laten wat hij van plan is en naar een goed handelen te streven. En nu moet de wil actief worden om aan deze innerlijke stem gevolg te geven. Dit zal weliswaar vaak ook een innerlijke strijd geven, maar zonder strijd is er geen geestelijk vooruitgang te boeken.

Het is uiterst belangrijk om te luisteren naar de stem in zichzelf en het levert de ziel van de mens spoedig een staat van rijpheid op, want het is de goddelijke stem, die in de mens klinkt, waar nu acht op geslagen moet worden, maar wat dan ook met zekerheid succes oplevert. Maar op het ogenblik wordt er weinig aandacht aan de innerlijke stem geschonken. Ze wordt door de stem van de wereld overstemd, want deze stem dringt hoorbaar in het oor van de mens.

Maar de innerlijke stem klinkt zo zacht, dat er op haar gelet moet worden, zodat al het uiterlijke verstommen moet, als haar klinken gehoord moet worden. Want de stem van God klinkt ook alleen maar voor degene, die deze horen wil. De stem van God zal nooit luid en hoorbaar voor de wereld klinken, maar slechts zacht en fijn in het hart klinken en wie deze dus horen wil, die moet zich tot in zijn innerlijk terugtrekken en er nu op letten, wat God hem vertellen wil. Het aandachtig naar zijn innerlijk luisteren, is het enige wat God van de mensen verlangt om hun nu opheldering te geven.

Heel vaak is de mens ertoe geneigd om acht te slaan op de stem van de wereld. En als God niet steeds weer de weg naar de mens zou willen nemen, zou spoedig de stem van de wereld de innerlijke stem overstemmen en de vorming van de ziel zou dan in twijfel getrokken moeten worden. Want het hoort in ieder geval tot de verdere ontwikkeling van de ziel, dat de mens zo veel mogelijk contact heeft met geestelijke kracht, omdat de innerlijke stem eveneens de uitwerking van geestelijke kracht op de mens is en dat deze, als die zich uit, ook gehoord moet worden, omdat haar kracht anders ineffectief blijft.

Gods liefde is er onophoudelijk op bedacht om de aardse weg van de mensen zo makkelijk als mogelijk te maken. Als de mens zich van de hulpmiddelen bedient, die hem vanuit Gods kant rijkelijk geboden worden, dan zal er voor hem geen grote strijd nodig zijn om opwaarts te gaan. Want zolang de mens bereidwillig is, is God ook bereidwillig om elke hulp te verlenen. Om voor hem de tijd op aarde tot een zegenrijke te laten worden, wanneer de mens dankbaar de hulp van God in ontvangst neemt en er acht op slaat, wat God hem vertellen wil.
