The inner voice....

Man needs a reminder, for he is very often in danger of forgetting himself and his endeavours, and then he must be warned or admonished against bad or too good actions. And this is also a favour from God, a means of upliftment that God gives him in His love. God does not abandon man to his self-chosen fate. If he threatens to go wrong ways, then the admonisher in him will make himself heard loudly and he will always speak against it and advise him to leave what he intends to do and to endeavour to do good deeds. And the will must now be active to follow this inner voice. Although this will often involve an inner struggle, no spiritual progress can be achieved without a struggle. Listening to the voice within is extremely important and will soon bring the human being's soul a state of maturity, for it is the divine voice which sounds within the human being, which only needs to be heeded and will then also bring certain success. Yet at present this inner voice is paid little attention to, it is drowned out by the voice of the world, for the latter audibly reaches the human being's ear, but the inner voice sounds so softly that it has to be heeded, that everything external has to fall silent if its sound is to be heard. But the voice of God can only be heard by those who want to hear it, the voice of God will never sound loud and audible to the world but will only sound softly and delicately in the heart, and therefore anyone who wants to hear it must withdraw into his innermost being and now pay attention to what God wants to say to him. Listening inwardly is the only thing God requires of people in order to give them information. Very often a person is inclined to heed the voice of the world, and if God does not always want to take the path to people, the voice of the world would soon drown out the inner voice and the shaping of the soul would then be called into question. For it is absolutely essential for the soul's development that the human being makes contact with spiritual strength as far as possible, since the inner voice is likewise the effect of spiritual forces on the human being, and that these, if they express themselves, must also be heard, otherwise their strength will remain ineffective. God's love constantly endeavours to make the human being's path on earth as easy as possible; if the human being makes use of the means of help which are abundantly offered to him by God then it will not cost him a great struggle to ascend. For as long as the human being is willing, God is also willing to give him every help in order to make his time on earth a blessed time, if the human being gratefully accepts God's help and pays attention to what God wants to tell him....

내면의 음성.

인간은 자신과 자신이 추구하는 일을 잊을 위험에 아주 자주 빠지기 때문에 경고자가 필요하고, 그러면 그는 악한 행동이나, 선한 행동에 대해 경고를 받거나 또는 권면을 받아야만 한다. 이런 일은 또한 하나님이 자신의 사랑으로 그에게 주는 하나님의 은혜이고, 높은 곳으로 향하는 도움의 수단이다.

하나님은 사람을 자신이 택한 운명에 맡겨두지 않는다. 그가 잘못된 길을 갈 위험에 빠지면, 경고자는 그에게 큰 소리로 알려주고, 항상 위험에 대항하는 말을 해주고, 그가 의도하는 일을 포기하게 하고, 선한 행동은 열심이 행하도록 조언을 해준다. 이제 이런 내면의 음성에 순종하려는 의지가 행동으로 옮겨져야만 한다. 이런 일은 실제 자주 내면의 투쟁이 필요하다. 그러나 투쟁이 없이는 영적인 성장을 이룰 수 없다.

자신 안에서 음성을 듣는 일이 지극히 중요하고, 곧 인간의 혼이 성숙한 상태에 이르게 한다. 왜냐하면 사람 안에게 울리는 음성이 하나님의 음성이고, 이 음성에 주의를 기울이기만 하면 되고, 그러면 또한 확실하게 성공하기 때문이다. 그러나 이 내면의 음성은 무시되고 있고, 세상의 소리에 가려지고 있다. 왜냐면 세상의 소리는 인간의 귀에 들리지만, 내면의 음성은 아주 작아서, 너희가 내면의 음성을 들으려면, 모든 외부의 소리가 침묵을 해야만 한다는 점을 고려해야만 하기 때문이다.

그러나 하나님의 음성은 또한 단지 하나님의 음성을 듣기 원하는 사람들에게만 들리고, 하나님의 음성은 절대로 세상에서 크게 들을 수 없고, 단지 심장 안에서 부드럽고 섬세하게 들리게 될 것이다. 그러므로 하나님의 음성을 듣기 원하는 사람은 그의 가장 깊은 내면으로 물러나야만 하고, 이제 하나님이 그에게 말하기 원하는 것에 주의를 기울여야만 한다. 내면의 음성을 듣는 일이 하나님이 사람들에게 가르침을 주기 위해 요구하는 유일한 일이다.

인간은 너무 자주 세상의 음성에 귀를 기울이는 경향이 있다. 그러므로 세상의 음성이 곧 내면의 음성을 압도한다면, 하나님은 인간에게 향하는 길을 항상 또다시 가기를 원하지 않게 된다. 그러면 혼을 형성하는 일이 의문시될 것이다. 왜냐면 사람이 가능한 한 영의 세력과 접촉하는 일이 혼의 성장을 위해 절대적으로 필요하기 때문이고, 내면의 음성은 또한 사람에게 미치는 영의 세력의 영향이기 때문이다. 이런 음성이 울리면, 그는 또한 이 음성을 들어야만 한다. 그렇지 않으면 내면의 음성의 힘은 효능을 나타내지 못하고 머문다.

하나님의 사랑은 인간에게 가능한 한 쉽게 이 땅의 길을 갈 수 있게 해주기 위해 끊임없이 노력한다. 사람이 하나님이 그에게 풍성하게 제공하는 도움의 수단을 사용한다면, 높은 곳에 도달하기 위해 큰 투쟁이 필요하지 않게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 사람이 자원하는 동안에는, 그가 하나님의 도움을 감사하게 받아들이고 하나님이 그에게 말하는 것을 존중한다면, 그의 이 땅의 시간을 축복된 시간으로 만들어 주기 위해, 하나님도 또한 자원하여 사람에게 모든 도움을 주기 때문이다.
