Humble prayer a prerequisite for the transmission of knowledge....

Wise is he who thinks himself small and powerless and asks for God's help.... For grace will be granted to him, and he will increase in light and knowledge. For the source of light is God, and when God is called upon for His grace, the human being desires to draw from the source of knowledge, he desires the light, and thus God can distribute according to desire. Man has the privilege of being allowed to ask God for His grace at any hour, he may always come to the father like a child and entrust himself to Him, and he will never ask in vain as soon as he desires spiritual possessions. For God wants to impart the truth to people and the only condition is the desire for it and prayer to Him. And He sets no limits, but the truth and the knowledge of it is given to man without limit as long as he desires it. Yet humble prayer is always the prerequisite that divine grace flows to the human being, which manifests itself in the transmission of the divine word which introduces the human being to the truth. Man must feel small and weak, only then does he come humbly to God and is then honoured with divine grace. But anyone who remains arrogant is still very far from light and wisdom. And he will hardly become a bearer of light as long as he does not humble himself and transform himself into a humble being. For only the humble will receive grace....

겸손한 기도는 지식을 받기 위한 전제 조건이다.

자신이 작고, 무기력하다고 생각하고, 하나님께 도움을 구하는 사람은 현명하다. 왜냐면 그에게 은혜가 주어지고, 그의 빛과 지식이 증가할 것이기 때문이다. 그러나 빛의 근원은 하나님이다. 사람이 하나님의 은혜를 요청한다면, 그가 지식의 원천에서 기르기를 원하는 것이다. 그는 빛을 갈망한다. 그러므로 하나님이 원하는 대로 나눠줄 수 있다.

사람은 언제라도 하나님께 은혜를 구할 수 있는 특권을 가지고 있다. 그는 항상 어린 자녀처럼 아버지께 나아가, 자신을 맡길 수 있다. 그가 영적인 재물을 바란다면, 그는 절대로 헛되이 구하게 되지 않게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 하나님은 사람들에게 진리를 전하기 원하고, 진리를 향한 갈망과 기도를 단지 유일한 조건으로 삼기 때문이다. 하나님은 어떤 한계도 설정하지 않고, 사람이 원하는 대로, 제한이 없이 진리와 지식을 사람에게 전해준다.

그러나 겸손한 기도가 항상 인간을 진리로 인도하는 하나님의 말씀을 전해주는 일로 나타나는, 하나님의 은혜가 인간에게 흐르기 위한 전제 조건이다. 사람은 자신을 작고, 연약하게 느껴야만 하다. 그러면 그가 비로소 겸손하게 하나님께 나가고, 그는 이제 하나님의 은혜를 받기에 합당하게 된다.

그러나 오만함 가운데 머무는 사람은 아직 빛과 지혜와는 거리가 멀다. 그가 자신을 낮추고, 자신을 겸손한 존재로 바꾸지 않는 한, 그가 빛의 전달자가 되는 일이 힘들게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 겸손한 사람만이 은혜를 받게 될 것이기 때문이다.
