Awakening of the spirit.... love....

A so-called awakening of the spirit will always take place when self-refinement has taken place through active neighbourly love. Every labour of love purifies the soul and thus breaks the shackles of the spirit, for the spirit slumbers in man as long as the covering is still thick. Now, however, strength can be implored through heartfelt prayer for this act of detachment of the spirit; although this will always happen on the path of active love, a person who prays will also be more easily able to work with love. For a person who prays has a certain humility within himself and therefore serving is not difficult for him either. Every prayer conveys strength, and what a person requires great willpower for, he can easily master after fervent prayer. The power of prayer is immense and yet it is not recognized enough. This is why people sometimes have to struggle a great deal before the spirit in them is released, whereas fervent prayer leads them almost effortlessly to the heights. Prayer in spirit and in truth unites the human being with God, i.e. he himself seeks the connection to Him, and since God Himself is love, the human being's feelings must now express themselves in love.... But a work of neighbourly love likewise draws God as love itself.... But love frees the spirit in man so that it can unite with the spiritual outside of itself, from which light and strength, i.e. knowledge and power, is imparted to it. Only then can the human being's nature become as it corresponds to divine will and the soul will mature and develop upwards in earthly life....

Il risveglio dello spirito - L’amore

Un cosìddetto risveglio dello spirito avrà sempre luogo, quando è preceduta una auto nobilitazione attraverso l’attivo amore per il prossimo. Ogni opera d’amore toglie le scorie all’anima e spezza quindi le catene dello spirito, perché costui sonnecchia nell’uomo finché l’involucro è ancora fitto. Ma ora, attraverso l’intima preghiera può essere supplicata la Forza per questo atto del distacco dello spirito; questo avviene comunque sempre sulla via dell’amore attivo, ma un uomo supplicante sarà anche più facilmente in grado per l’agire nell’amore, perché costui porta in sé una certa umiltà, e quindi anche il servire non gli sarà difficile. Ogni preghiera trasmette Forza, e per ciò l’uomo richiede grande forza di volontà, lo svolge con leggerezza dopo un’intima preghiera. La Forza della preghiera è immensa ed è ancora troppo poco riconosciuta. Perciò gli uomini a volte devono lottare molto, prima che lo spirito in loro diventi libero, mentre l’intima preghiera conduce in Alto quasi senza fatica. La preghiera nello Spirito e nella Verità unisce l’uomo con Dio, cioè egli stesso cerca il contatto con Lui, e dato che Dio Stesso E’ l’Amore, il sentimento dell’uomo deve ora manifestarsi nell’amore. Un’opera dell’amore per il prossimo però rende libero lo spirito nell’uomo, in modo che questo si possa unire con lo spirituale al di fuori di sé, da cui gli viene trasmesso Luce e Forza, cioè sapere e potere. Solo allora l’essere dell’uomo diventa così come corrisponde alla Volontà divina, e l’anima maturerà e si svilupperà verso l’Alto nella vita terrena.
