Way of the flesh....know before.... serve....

The path of the flesh must be travelled by every being that wants to become free from bondage. Until the being has completed its earthly life in embodiment as a human being it cannot enter the spiritual kingdom free and unbound. But the beingness will also strive for embodiment as a human being in order to finally become free from the constraint which every external form means for the beingness. And that is why it takes up the earthly battle with full consent. It feels up to the task and is not afraid of it, and therefore the souls will push themselves to be conceived into the flesh in order to be able to fulfil their final task. They have previously been shown the path on earth and also the degree of maturity they can attain through this earthly life. Furthermore, the measure of grace is also presented to them, which enables them to mature, and therefore the soul does not hesitate to start the last course, even though it is now deprived of the awareness of the soul's pre-formation and now begins its earthly existence in complete ignorance. The more willing to serve the soul was before, the more it is now up to the earthly demands, i.e., it will also master earthly life, since it has declared its willingness to redeem itself through service. Admittedly, the human being will now come into situations in life where the will to serve will be shaken in him; he will get to know life with all its joys and comforts, and now the soul must prove to itself whether it is still willing to serve. For it must go through resistance and prove itself in the face of this resistance. So it now puts the previously cherished will into practice, and only this earns it liberation. The will to serve earned it the grace of embodiment as a human being, but the active will releases it again from the final form.... If, however, the will does not become active, then it has to a certain extent illegally acquired embodiment as a human being; it has not fulfilled what it promised to do. And it is itself the sufferer, for the hour of liberation from spiritual fetters has by no means struck for it, even though it is seemingly freed from its outer form through the death of the body. Nevertheless, it takes the form with it into eternity, i.e. it still feels the shackles of the spirit just as agonizingly as before the earthly body. And it has to feel the shackles until it decides to serve in love.... No being can be spared the path on earth in the flesh; but it cannot be spared serving in love either, and if it does not do the latter on earth it only prolongs its bound state and in fact its time on earth. For the immature soul will not be able to separate itself from earth until it has fulfilled its serving activity, even though it has already left earth. But the will to serve will often only be very weak in the beyond. And it will require twice as much strength to realize this will. And therefore it is far more difficult to finally become free than on earth, where the slightest will brings the strength from God to the person and he can effortlessly fulfil his earthly task.... to serve in love in order to become completely free from the form....

Weg des Fleisches.... Wissen darum zuvor.... Dienen....

Der Weg des Fleisches muß von einem jeden Wesen gegangen werden, das frei werden will aus der Gebundenheit. Ehe das Wesen nicht das Erdenleben in der Verkörperung als Mensch zurückgelegt hat, kann es nicht frei und ungebunden in das geistige Reich eingehen. Es wird aber auch das Wesenhafte die Verkörperung als Mensch anstreben, um endgültig von dem Zwang frei zu werden, der eine jede Außenform für das Wesenhafte bedeutet. Und darum nimmt es mit voller Zustimmung den Erdenkampf auf. Es fühlt sich der Aufgabe gewachsen und fürchtet sich nicht davor, und daher werden die Seelen sich drängen, in das Fleisch eingezeugt zu werden, um ihre letzte Aufgabe erfüllen zu können. Es ist ihnen zuvor der Erdenweg gezeigt worden und auch der Reifegrad, den sie durch dieses Erdenleben erringen können. Ferner wird ihnen auch das Maß der Gnade vorgestellt, das ihnen das Ausreifen möglich macht, und daher zögert die Seele nicht, den letzten Gang anzutreten, wenngleich ihr nun das Bewußtsein um die Vorgestaltung der Seele genommen wird und sie nun in vollster Unwissenheit das irdische Dasein beginnt. Je dienstwilliger nun zuvor die Seele war, desto mehr ist sie nun den irdischen Anforderungen gewachsen, d.h., sie wird auch das irdische Leben meistern, da sie ihre Bereitwilligkeit erklärt hat, sich durch Dienen zu erlösen. Es wird nun zwar der Mensch in Lebenslagen kommen, wo der Wille zu dienen in ihm erschüttert wird; er wird das Leben mit allen Freuden und Annehmlichkeiten kennenlernen, und nun muß sich die Seele beweisen, ob sie noch immer zum Dienen bereit ist. Denn sie muß durch Widerstände gehen und sich diesen Widerständen gegenüber bewähren. Sie setzt also nun den vorher gehegten Willen in die Tat um, und dies erst trägt ihr die Freiwerdung ein. Der Wille zum Dienen trug ihr die Gnade der Verkörperung als Mensch ein, der tätige Wille aber läßt sie wieder frei werden aus der letzten Form.... Wird jedoch der Wille nicht tätig, dann hat sie sich gewissermaßen widerrechtlich die Verkörperung als Mensch erworben; sie hat nicht erfüllt, was sie zu tun versprach. Und sie ist selbst die Leidtragende, denn die Stunde der Befreiung aus Geistesfesseln hat für sie noch lange nicht geschlagen, wenngleich sie durch den Leibestod scheinbar frei wird von ihrer Außenform. Sie nimmt doch die Form mit hinüber in die Ewigkeit, d.h., sie empfindet die Fesseln des Geistes noch genauso qualvoll wie zuvor den irdischen Leib. Und sie muß die Fesseln so lange spüren, bis sie sich entschließt, in Liebe zu dienen.... Es kann keinem Wesen der Weg auf Erden im Fleisch erspart bleiben; es kann ihm aber auch nicht das Dienen in Liebe erspart bleiben, und tut es letzteres nicht auf Erden, so verlängert es nur seinen gefesselten Zustand und eigentlich die Erdenzeit. Denn es wird sich die Seele, die unreif ist, so lange nicht von der Erde zu trennen vermögen, bis sie ihre dienende Tätigkeit erfüllt hat, wenngleich sie die Erde schon verlassen hat. Doch der Wille zum Dienen wird im Jenseits oft nur sehr schwach sein. Und es wird doppelte Kraft bedürfen, diesen Willen zur Ausführung zu bringen. Und daher ist es weit schwerer, endgültig frei zu werden wie auf Erden, wo der geringste Wille die Kraft aus Gott dem Menschen einträgt und er mühelos seine Erdenaufgabe erfüllen kann.... in Liebe zu dienen, um restlos frei zu werden aus der Form....
