Serving the essence in the form.... works of creation....

There is no other path to the heights than that of service. So he who serves develops to perfection; what was previously deficient and imperfect is brought to a progressive state through service, i.e. the being progresses to the heights as long as it serves. The willingness to serve is decisive for the being's degree of maturity. The being will now always strive to become free and therefore also consciously want to serve, because it thereby promises itself complete freedom. If the being enters into a union with an external form which is of little benefit to humanity, then the serving function will not be utilized too much, which is a great disadvantage for the spiritual in the external form. For every sojourn in the form is intended to give the being a certain degree of maturity. As soon as the form is needed, it also has a task to fulfil, it must therefore serve. The serving state is a surrender of one's own will to the will of the other; and that which is allowed to serve must also have declared its willingness to prove itself useful, as it were, otherwise no serving activity can be assigned to it. But there are also works of creation which apparently have no mission to fulfil, and then man is easily inclined to believe that such works of creation never hold the spiritual standing in higher development, but are dead and spiritless, therefore unlived by the divine spirit, unlived by the great love of God. But this thought is completely wrong, there is no work of creation which would be without spiritual life, just as there is no work of creation which would not have its purpose, even if it were still hidden to the human eye or not yet comprehensible to his intellect.

b. Every work of creation has its purpose, every work of creation is somehow needed. God's love, out of His wisdom, has created all things for a serving purpose. And nothing is without meaning and purpose, otherwise it would not be divine creation. Nothing was created without a plan and nothing is useless either. The smallest work of creation fulfils its mission, the tiniest living being its function, and everything is for the preservation of what God has created. And when man understands this, when he can imagine everything created as a necessity, he also understands the eternal deity, i.e. he realizes its existence, so he begins to believe.... he recognizes the omnipotence and wisdom of God and then also senses the omnipotent love, as every work of creation bears witness to this. God must be recognized as the origin of all creation, only then can the human being be guided into realization, only then will he have an open ear and heart for the truth, for the teachings which God Himself gives to people, which are intended to enlighten him about that which is beyond earthly life, about the human being's relationship with God, his task and his goal, about his outcome and his final return to God....

Het dienen van het wezen in de vorm – Scheppingswerken

Er is geen andere weg omhoog dan door te dienen. Wie dus dient, die ontwikkelt zich tot volmaaktheid. Wat voorheen gebrekkig en onvolmaakt was, wordt door dienen in een toestand van vooruitgang geplaatst. Dat wil zeggen dat het wezen net zo lang omhooggaat, als het dient. De bereidwilligheid tot dienen is bepalend voor de rijpheidsgraad van het wezen. Het wezen zal er nu steeds naar streven om vrij te worden en daarom ook bewust willen dienen, omdat het daardoor volledige vrijheid verwacht te krijgen.

Als het wezen een verbinding met een uiterlijke vorm aangaat, die nauwelijks nuttig is voor de mensheid, dan zal er op de dienende functie niet al te veel een beroep gedaan worden, wat voor het geestelijke in de uiterlijke vorm een groot nadeel is. Want elk verblijf in de vorm moet het wezen een bepaalde rijpheidsgraad opleveren. Zodra de vorm nu nodig is, moet ze ook een taak vervullen. Ze moet dus dienen. De dienende toestand is een overgave van de eigen wil aan de wil van de ander. En wat tot dienen toegelaten wordt, moet ook als het ware zijn bereidwilligheid kenbaar gemaakt hebben om zich nuttig te betonen, omdat hem anders geen dienende werkzaamheid toegewezen kan worden.

Maar er bestaan ook scheppingswerken, die schijnbaar geen missie te vervullen hebben en dan is de mens gauw geneigd om te geloven dat zulke scheppingswerken nooit iets geestelijks bevatten, dat zich opwaarts ontwikkelt, maar dood en zonder geest is, dus onbezield door de goddelijke geest. Als dood voor de grote liefde van God. Maar deze gedachte is helemaal verkeerd. Er bestaat geen scheppingswerk dat zonder geestelijk leven zou zijn, zoals er ook geen scheppingswerk is, dat niet zijn doel zou hebben, ook wanneer deze voor het menselijke oog nog verborgen of voor zijn verstand nog niet te begrijpen zou zijn.

Elk scheppingswerk heeft zijn doel. Elk scheppingswerk is op de één of andere manier nodig. Gods liefde heeft vanuit Zijn wijsheid alle dingen voor een actieve werkzaamheid geschapen. En er is niets zonder zin en doel, anders zou het geen goddelijke schepping zijn. Er is niets zonder plan ontstaan en eveneens is er niets dat nutteloos is. Het kleinste scheppingswerk vervult zijn missie. Het nietigste levende wezen zijn functie en alles betreft de instandhouding van dat, wat God geschapen heeft.

En als de mens dat begrijpt, als hij zich al het geschapene als een noodzakelijkheid kan voorstellen, dan begrijpt hij ook de eeuwige Godheid. Dat wil zeggen dat Diens bestaan hem duidelijk wordt. Zodoende begint hij te geloven. Hij herkent de almacht en wijsheid van God en voelt dan ook de almachtige liefde, omdat elk scheppingswerk daar getuigenis van geeft.

God moet als de oorsprong van het hele scheppingswerk erkend worden. Pas dan kan de mens de kennis binnengeleid worden. Pas dan zal hij een open oor en hart hebben voor de waarheid. Voor de onderrichtingen, die God Zelf aan de mens geeft, die hem moeten informeren over dat, wat buiten het aardse leven ligt. Over de verhouding van de mens tot God, zijn opdracht en zijn doel. Over zijn oorsprong en zijn uiteindelijke terugkeer tot God.
