Recognizing the truth.... self-love - love of neighbour....

A considerable time will pass before humanity's mind will be occupied with thoughts concerning the salvation of the soul. Everything spiritual is still a concept of the improbable for them, they are not yet willing to surrender their earthly interests. And self-love is an obstacle to recognizing what is most important in earthly life.... the soul's higher development. The degree of love is decisive for recognizing the truth. However, anyone who loves himself more than his neighbour is still a long way from recognizing the truth. For self-love is nothing divine, it strives for earthly goods and can therefore never have redeeming power. The human being only becomes free when he puts his own ego aside and his actions and thoughts are only directed towards making his neighbour's earthly lot bearable, then his soul becomes free from its covering and it no longer regards earthly life as the most important thing but concerns itself with spiritual life, with life after death and its actual earthly task. The human being will always reject every spiritual truth as long as his soul has not yet broken through the shell around him. One is the consequence of the other, and anyone with realization will try in vain to break through the barriers in order to help his fellow human being, and yet he should not become discouraged, for God Himself will help where the human being's strength is insufficient. There is no other way to change such people's mind than through drastic changes which make them realize the futility of what they previously aspired to as important. And the coming time will bring this about so that many a person will become thoughtful if he pays attention to what is happening around him. He will see changes take place, he will see people pass away and his view of life will be strongly shaken. And he will be blessed who draws his conclusions from this, who does not pass it by thoughtlessly and remembers his true purpose.... to help all those who need help.... For these redeem themselves through the love they give to their fellow human beings, for they become seeing.... They enter into contact with the eternal deity, Who is love Itself, and now the scales fall from his eyes. God wants to help those people and therefore He sends them a little light so that the darkness of the spirit in them can be broken through. Yet people often flee from the bright light and remain in the darkness, which is part of God's adversary. And therefore the love of the fellow human being has to be prepared time and again to give them enlightenment, and every thought will be blessed which applies to such poor in spirit. Asking for their souls while they are still on earth will earn him the help of the beings in the beyond, for they will not let up in their endeavours and what talking cannot achieve can be achieved through faithful prayer.... All previous views can be shaken and the human being can be guided into a completely new way of thinking, and now the soul strives ceaselessly upwards. It is necessary that God Himself intervenes, because only that which seems quite strange and extraordinary is still given attention, for without a violent shaking of earthly life the human being's mind will hardly turn to spiritual problems. And therefore the soul is in greatest danger. But the moment will be dreadful, yet it is inevitable, for the gentle hints will not be heeded and the time on earth will pass and bring the soul neither redemption nor realization....

Riconoscere la Verità - L’amor proprio - L’amore per il prossimo

Passerà molto tempo, prima che il senso dell’umanità si occupi con pensieri che riguardano la salvezza dell’anima. Tutto lo spirituale è per lei ancora un concetto dell’improbabile, non vuole ancora rinunciare ai suoi interessi terreni. E l’amor proprio è un impedimento per riconoscere ciò che è la cosa più importante nella vita terrena: lo sviluppo verso l’Alto dell’anima. E’ determinante il grado dell’amore per riconoscere la Verità. Ma chi ama più sé stesso che il suo prossimo, è ancora lontano dal riconoscere la Verità, perché l’amor proprio non è nulla di divino, aspira a beni terreni e perciò non può mai avere una Forza salvifica. L’uomo diventa libero soltanto, quando retrocede il proprio io ed il suo agire e pensare è rivolto a rendere sopportabile al prossimo la sua sorte terrena, allora l’anima diventa libera dal suo involucro ed ora non considera più la vita terrena come la cosa più importante, ma si occupa con la vita spirituale, con la vita dopo la morte e del suo vero compito terreno. L’uomo si atteggerà sempre in rifiuto verso ogni Verità spirituale, finché la sua anima non ha ancora compenetrato il suo involucro. Questa è una conseguenza dell’altro, e chi è nella conoscenza, cerca invano di irrompere attraverso le barriere per aiutare il prossimo, e comunque non deve scoraggiarsi, perché Dio Stesso aiuta, dove non basta la forza dell’uomo. Non esiste altra possibilità di cambiare il senso di tali uomini, che dei cambiamenti incisivi, che rendono loro chiara la caducità di ciò a cui aspiravano prima come la cosa più importante. Questo lo procurerà il tempo in arrivo, che certi diventeranno riflessivi, se osservano l’avvenimento intorno a loro. Vedrà svolgersi dei cambiamenti, vedrà come degli uomini se ne vanno, e la sua opinione sulla vita verrà fortemente scossa. E sarà benedetto colui, che da ciò trae le sue conclusioni, chi non vi passa spensieratamente oltre e pensa alla sua vera destinazione, di aiutare tutti coloro che hanno bisogno d’aiuto. Perché costoro aiutano sé stessi attraverso l’amore che rivolgono al prossimo, perché diventano vedenti. Entrano in contatto con l’eterna Divinità, la Quale E’ l’Amore Stesso, ed ora gli cadono come scaglie dagli occhi. Dio vuole aiutare quegli uomini, e perciò Egli manda loro una lucetta, affinché venga compenetrata l’oscurità dello spirito. Ma spesse volte gli uomini fuggono il chiaro bagliore e rimangono nella tenebra, che è parte dell’avversario di Dio. E perciò l’amore del prossimo deve sempre e sempre di nuovo essere pronto a dare loro il chiarimento, e sarà benedetto ogni pensiero che è rivolto a tali poveri nello spirito. Pregare per le loro anime, finché dimorano ancora sulla Terra, procura loro l’aiuto degli esseri nell’aldilà, perché questi ora non cedono nei loro sforzi e quello che non riesce a procurare il discorso, può essere ottenuto con una preghiera di fede. Tutte le opinioni avute finora possono vacillare e l’uomo essere guidato in un pensare del tutto diverso, ed ora l’anima aspira inarrestabilmente verso l’Alto. E’ necessario che Dio Stesso intervenga, perché viene considerato solo ancora ciò che sembra del tutto strano e straordinario, perché senza violento scuotimento della vita terrena il senso dell’uomo non si rivolgerà quasi più ai problemi spirituali. E perciò l’anima è nel più grande pericolo. Ma il momento sarà terribile, però inevitabile, perché non si badano alle indicazioni dolci, ed il tempo terreno passa e non porta all’anima né la Redenzione né conoscenza.
