Intellectual arrogance reason for rejection....

The resistance that people often put up to the divine word is the result of a certain spiritual arrogance. Only the person who believes himself to be knowledgeable rebels against accepting a different knowledge. He does not want to separate himself from his previous view, but this does not correspond to the word of God imparted to man by knowing powers. The more distant a person is from God, the more he rejects it and the more this word deviates from his view, and he is not easily prepared to give it up and receive the divine word. So for the time being there is a lack of will.... On serious examination the human being would probably recognize that his knowledge is still incomplete and therefore could not withstand the spiritual transmissions. However, where the will to seriously scrutinize is lacking, clear evidence is also inappropriate and pointless. What is completely understandable and clear appears incomprehensible to him, for the strength of the divine word only communicates itself to the person who also has the will to accept God's gift. This power makes it possible for every word to touch the human heart, so that the human being feels God Himself in every writing, in the word that God Himself gives to people who are devoted to Him. Resistance, however, renders the human heart incapable of judgement. Although the human being uses his intellect to help him, this alone will not come to the right conclusion. Thus, if he himself is incapable of accepting what he has heard as truth, he should ask God Himself for enlightenment and that which previously seemed unacceptable to him will be revealed to him as clear as day, for God gives knowledge to everyone who asks Him for it. Most of the time, however, people presume to be able to judge for themselves, and this is a certain spiritual arrogance, for man cannot actually do anything, he cannot do anything without having asked for God's help. He sets human knowledge and human experience against the pure word of God, which are more or less erroneous depending on his attitude towards God. He perceives every correction as a personal attack and confronts it in a fighting mood, he now eagerly defends his opinion but pays almost no attention to the opposing opinion.... And consequently, the power of the divine word cannot take effect and enlighten his spirit.... So he remains in the dark, even though the light is brought to him.... For the knowledge of pure truth is light.... But he who closes his eyes when light is offered to him cannot be given enlightenment, he remains in rejection and can only be convinced of the truth of what is offered to him when he himself has the will and the desire for the truth....

La arrogancia mental es el motivo del rechazo....

La resistencia que los seres humanos a menudo oponen a la Palabra divina es el resultado de una cierta arrogancia mental. Sólo la persona que cree saber algo se rebela contra la aceptación de un conocimiento diferente. No quiere separarse de su visión anterior, pero ésta no corresponde a la Palabra de Dios transmitida a las personas a través de las fuerzas conocedoras.

Cuanto más alejado está el hombre de Dios, tanto más lo rechaza al respecto y más se desvía esta Palabra de su opinión y no está dispuesto a renunciar ésta y aceptar la Palabra divina. Por lo tanto, por el momento hay falta de voluntad.... Tras un examen serio, una persona probablemente reconocería que sus conocimientos aún son incompletos y, por tanto, no podría resistir las transmisiones espirituales.

Sin embargo, cuando no hay voluntad de examinarlo seriamente, las pruebas claras son inapropiadas e inútiles. Lo que es completamente comprensible y claro le es incomprensible, porque el poder de la Palabra divina sólo se comunica a personas que también tienen la voluntad de acoger el don de Dios. Este poder asegura que cada Palabra toque el corazón humano, para que las personas sientan a Dios Mismo en cada escrito, en la Palabra que Dios Mismo da a las personas que le son devotas.

Pero la resistencia vuelve al corazón humano incapaz de juzgar. Aunque el ser humano utiliza su intelecto para ayudar, pero este por sí solo no llegará a un resultado correcto. Si él mismo es incapaz de aceptar como verdad lo que ha oído, entonces debe pedirle a Dios Mismo que lo ilumine, y lo que antes le parecía inaceptable se le revelará tan claramente como el sol, porque Dios da conocimiento a todo aquel, que se Lo pide al respecto.

Sin embargo, la mayoría de las veces el ser humano confía en sí mismo para poder juzgar, y esto es una cierta arrogancia espiritual, porque el ser humano en realidad no puede hacer nada, no puede hacer nada sin haber pedido la ayuda de Dios. Contrapone la pura Palabra de Dios con el conocimiento y las experiencias humanas, que son más o menos erróneas según su actitud hacia Dios. Él siente cada corrección como un ataque personal y lo enfrenta con ánimo de lucha, ahora defiende celosamente su opinión, pero casi no presta atención a la opinión contraria....

Y en consecuencia, el poder de la Palabra divina no puede hacerse efectivo e iluminar su espíritu.... por eso permanece en la oscuridad, aunque la luz se acerque a él.... Porque el conocimiento de la verdad pura es luz.... pero quien cierra los ojos cuando se le ofrece luz no se le puede dar ninguna explicación, permanece en la negación y sólo puede convencerse de la verdad de lo que se le ofrece cuando él mismo tiene la voluntad y el deseo, por la verdad....
