‘Hallowed be Thy name .... ’

Hallowed be Thy name .... voice these words with deep devotion and, every day, remember the overwhelming love of the One Who gave you life .... and how His spirit is in you when you are in contact with Him .... You should pray to Him, speak to Him with profound faith, and profess this faith in Him by mentioning His name, by calling to Him in prayer, by praising and glorifying Him and by forever thanking Him .... And when you voice His name you should be conscious of the fact that you are speaking to the highest and most perfect Being Which you should approach with profound veneration, appealing for Its love and grace. When you become aware of how small and tiny you are compared to Him, when you lift your eyes to Him in silent reverence and entrust yourselves to Him, you will voice His name with profound depth of feeling, He will signify the most holiest of Beings and you will humbly go down on your knees to Him .... For it is the Lord’s will that you should also mention His name; it is His will that you should profess Him before the world. It is not enough that you only acknowledge Him in your hearts and only quietly enter into contact with Him on your own. It should become public knowledge that you want to belong to Him; you should pronounce His hallowed name with faith and courage, profess your love for Him and stand up to all external temptations to renounce Him. Voicing the divine name is extremely beneficial, for His name incorporates strength and each person can acquire this strength, provided that he entrusts himself to Him and passionately mentions His name .... by sincerely praying “Hallowed be Thy name ....”

"Geheiligt werde Dein Name...."

Geheiliget werde Dein Name.... das sollt ihr in tiefer Andacht aussprechen und euch jeden Tag vor Augen halten, wie überwältigend die Liebe Dessen ist, Der euch das Leben gab.... und wie Sein Geist in euch ist, so ihr mit Ihm verbunden seid.... Ihr sollt zu Ihm beten, mit Ihm sprechen in tiefster Gläubigkeit, ihr sollt bekennen diesen Glauben an Ihn, indem ihr Seinen Namen nennt, Ihn rufet im Gebet, Ihn lobet und preiset und Ihm Dank saget ohne Unterlaß.... Und so ihr Seinen Namen aussprecht, sollt ihr euch bewußt sein, daß ihr mit dem höchsten und vollkommensten Wesen sprecht, Dem ihr in tiefster Verehrung euch nahen sollt, um Seine Liebe und Gnade bittend. Und so euch bewußt wird, wie klein und winzig ihr seid Ihm gegenüber, so ihr in stiller Ehrfurcht zu Ihm eure Augen erhebt und euch Ihm nun anvertraut, so werdet ihr in tiefster Innigkeit Seinen Namen aussprechen, er wird für euch das Heiligste bedeuten, und demütig werdet ihr eure Knie vor Ihm beugen.... Denn der Herr will, daß ihr auch Seines Namens Erwähnung tut; Er will, daß ihr der Welt gegenüber Ihn bekennt. Es genügt nicht, so ihr Ihn nur im Herzen anerkennt und nur still für euch mit Ihm in Verbindung tretet. Es soll offen vor aller Welt bekannt werden, daß ihr Ihm angehören wollt; gläubig und mutig sollt ihr Seinen geheiligten Namen aussprechen, Eure Liebe zu Ihm bekennen und standhalten allen Versuchungen von außen, Ihn zu verleugnen. Das Aussprechen des göttlichen Namens ist überaus segensreich, denn Sein Name birgt Kraft in sich, und ein jeder kann sich diese Kraft aneignen, sofern er sich Ihm anvertraut und voller Inbrunst Seinen Namen nennt.... indem er innig betet: "Geheiligt werde Dein Name...."
