Means of grace.... Prayer and activity of love....

And inner peace shall be the sign that God is in him. But those who lack divine grace, because they neither desired nor received it when it was offered to them, find the path to the heights so difficult that they can never travel it, for their strength is too weak and they do not ask for strength from God, even though it is at their disposal. They use none of the means of grace, and their soul is weak and unable to rise up. And yet, God lets the sun of grace shine on them, too, by giving them His Word, and through it, instructing them to consider their soul. He gives them knowledge of the measure of grace to which every human being is entitled. He wants them to pay attention, and not go through earthly life unwarned. And thus, divine grace also reaches the human being unconsciously and only wants to be seized.... And again, it is the human being's free will to grasp God's hand and to accept the divine grace which is utmost lovingly offered to him, and.... once he has been granted this grace, to request it again and again, and thereby receive strength in order to redeem himself during his earthly life. His will is therefore only necessary in order to be able to accomplish everything that will bring salvation to his soul. His will has to seek God, his will has to submit itself to Him, and his will has to consciously strive towards Him and request the strength from God to do so.... He then establishes the connection with his Father of Eternity, he wants to get to God. And this will means his redemption.... And God always and everywhere comes to meet him, He does not demand more from man than he can fulfil, He offers him all means of help which make the ascent possible for him, and only demands of the being that it does not behave dismissively but gratefully receives the favours which guarantee the ascent upwards. Yet God does not force the human being's will; and therefore, God's grace cannot be granted to him without his will either, because otherwise the soul would be pushed upwards, thus it would not desire to ascend in complete freedom of will but would compulsorily cover this path upwards. For divine grace is strength from God which demands to return to God again.... Therefore, this power can only be imparted to the being if it likewise desires God of its own free will. This is why free will is indispensable if the being wants to redeem itself from its last embodiment on earth....

은혜의 수단. 기도와 사랑행함.

내면의 평화는 하나님이 그 안에 계신다는 증거가 될 것이다. 그러나 은혜를 제공받았을 때, 이 은혜를 원하지도 않고, 받지도 않은 사람들의 위를 향한 길은 아주 어렵게 될 것이다. 이로써 그들은 절대로 이 길을 갈 수 없게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 그들의 힘이 너무 부족하고, 비록 은혜가 그들에게 제공될지라도, 하나님께 어떤 힘도 요구하지 않기 때문이다. 그들은 어떤 은혜의 수단도 사용하지 않는다. 그들의 혼은 높은 곳으로 올라가기에는 연약하고, 능력이 없다. 그럴지라도 하나님은 또한 사람들에게 자신의 말씀을 주면서, 이런 말씀을 통해 그들의 혼을 기억하도록 알려주면서, 은혜의 태양이 그들에게 비추게 한다. 하나님은 그들이 알게 되고, 경고를 받지 못하고 이 땅의 삶을 살기를 원하지 않는다. 그러므로 또한 의식하지 못하게 사람에게 하나님의 은혜가 주어지고, 사람이 단지 붙잡기만 하면 된다.

다시한번, 하나님의 손을 잡는 일은, 그에게 그토록 사랑스럽게 제공되는 하나님의 은혜를 받아들이는 일은 인간의 자유의지이다. 일단 의지가 이런 은혜를 얻게되면, 그의 이 땅의 삶 동안에 자신을 구원하기 위해, 항상 또 다시 이런 은혜를 구하고, 이로써 받게 될 것이다. 그렇게 함으로써 이 땅의 삶 동안 자신을 구속할 힘을 얻게 된다. 그러므로 그의 혼에 구원을 가져다주는 모든 것을 성취하기 위해 단지 그의 의지만이 필요하다. 그의 의지가 하나님을 구해야만 한다. 그의 의지가 하나님께 복종해야만 하고, 그의 의지가 의식적으로 하나님을 추구해야만 하고, 이를 위해 하나님께 힘을 구해야만 한다. 그러면 그는 자신의 영원한 아버지와 연결을 이루고, 하나님을 향해 가기를 원하다. 이런 의지가 그의 구원이다.

하나님은 항상 어디에서나 그에게 다가 간다. 그는 사람에게 그가 성취할 수 있는 것보다 더 많은 것을 요구하지 않는다. 그는 사람에게 그의 성장을 가능하게 해주는 모든 도움의 수단을 제공하고, 존재에게 단지 이런 도움의 수단을 거부하는 자세를 취하지 않고, 위를 향해 올라가는 일을 보장하는 은혜를 감사하게 받아드리기를 요구한다. 그러나 하나님은 사람의 의지에 강요를 하지 않는다. 그러므로 하나님의 은혜는 그의 뜻이 없이는 그에게 주어질 수 없다. 왜냐면 그렇지 않다면, 혼은 위로 향하도록 떠밀리게 될 것이기 때문이다. 다시 말해 완전한 자유의지로 위로 향하려는 갈망을 갖지 않고, 강제로 위로 향하는 길을 가게 될 것이기 때문이다. 하나님의 은혜는 다시 하나님께 돌아가기를 원하는, 하나님으로부터 나온 능력이기 때문이다. 그러므로 존재가 자신의 이 땅의 마지막 육신을 입는 일로 구원을 받기를 원한다면, 자유의지가 절대적으로 필요하다.
