Intellectual research....

Believers and unbelievers....

The more devotedly a person entrusts himself to God's care the easier his earthly life will be, for it is the will of the Father in Heaven that He should always be remembered. Only in this way can you receive the strength from Him, which He sends without restriction to anyone who desires it.... The human being often searches where a single request for clarification could provide him with information and yet, despite being informed of an instruction from above, he will not avail himself of it because he does not believe. And consequently he will walk in error, for he cannot find the right realisation without faith. The result of the believer will always differ from that of the unbeliever; they are two different basic attitudes which also produce different results. The same success can never be expected if the will to investigate is active, that is, if he only wants to solve some spiritual problems purely intellectually. A distinction must be made between a person who rejects faith and a person who is still searching and weak in faith, who is willing to believe if the scholar seems acceptable to him. This person asks.... but the other claims.... He intellectually compiles a doctrine for himself and is completely convinced of its truth, yet he has not utilised the slightest divine strength for it, thus the result cannot be divine truth either, for the person who does not pray to God is by no means entirely without the influence of spiritual strength, instead he is guided by the opposing force and always by God's opposing activity. Consequently, this opposing force will not allow the human being's thoughts to be in truth either but will do everything in its power to confuse them. Nor is it usually the desire for truth that motivates his research, but the prospect of earthly success drives him to use his intellect. He therefore does not seek any connection with knowledgeable forces, neither consciously nor unconsciously, but he gathers the results of other researchers purely intellectually and puts together a new picture. He does not seek wisdom from the Eternal Wisdom itself but adopts the thought processes of other equally erring people, and the final result must inevitably also be error....

La ricerca d’intelletto - Credenti e miscredenti

Più devoto l’uomo si affida alla Provvidenza di Dio, più facile sarà la sua vita terrena, perché è la Volontà del Padre nel Cielo che Lo si pensi in ogni tempo. Solo così potete accogliere da Lui la Forza che Egli lascia giungere illimitatamente a colui, che la desidera. Sovente l’uomo indaga dove un’unica richiesta per la spiegazione gli potrebbe dare il chiarimento e malgrado le indicazioni all’Insegnamento dall’Alto non se ne avvale, perché non crede. E di conseguenza camminerà nell’errore, perché senza fede non può trovare la giusta conoscenza. Il risultato dell’uomo credente devierà sempre da quello del miscredente; sono due differenti predisposizioni di base, che procurano anche differenti risultati. Non ci si può mai aspettare lo stesso successo, anche se la volontà d’indagare è molto attiva, cioè che vuole risolvere soltanto qualche problema spirituale con il puro intelletto. Dev’essere fatta una differenza fra un uomo che rifiuta la fede ed un uomo debole di fede che cerca ancora, ma che è pronto a credere, se ciò che gli viene offerto gli sembra accettabile. Questa persona domanda, ma l’altro sostiene. Quest’ultimo stesso mette insieme intellettualmente un insegnamento ed è totalmente convinto della sua verità, ma non ne ha richiesta nessuna Forza divina, quindi il risultato non può essere Verità divina, perché l’uomo che non chiede Dio, ora non è per nulla del tutto senza influenza dalla forza spirituale, ma ora lo guida la forza opposta, e sempre all’agire contrario a Dio. Quindi questa forza contraria non permette nemmeno che il pensare dell’uomo si trovi nella Verità, ma farà di tutto per confondere il pensare dell’uomo. Il motivo della sua ricerca non è quasi mai il desiderio per la Verità, ma la speranza nel successo terreno lo spinge ad usare il suo intelletto. Quindi non cerca nessun collegamento con le Forze sapienti, né consciamente né incosciamente, ma mette insieme i risultati puramente intellettuali di altri ricercatori e si assembla una nuova immagine. Non cerca la Sapienza dall’eterna Sapienza Stessa, ma fa suoi i corsi dei pensieri di altri uomini erranti ed il risultato dev’essere inevitabilmente anche l’errore.
