Right thinking.... reducing the distance from God....

Do not resist the thoughts which surround you. Know that spiritual beings constantly look after you, that they try to supply you with spiritual strength, that they want to convey to you what is right, thus truth.... that they want to direct your thoughts such that they will be a blessing for you, for if you think correctly you are seized by divine love. Divine love now has power over you, while the adversary's power over you has been broken.... And this is unspeakably important for life on earth. Standing in the right thinking reduces the distance from God.... The consequence of correct thinking is that the human being's nature is ennobled and God Himself can therefore take ever greater possession of the being because it surrenders itself to Him. For the human being longs for God if his thinking is right.... He is seized by God's love, and this inevitably draws the being to itself, whereas distance from God means a lack of divine love. If a person's thinking is influenced such that he cannot help but long for God, then this is a sign that those beings which try to impart thoughts to him are likewise connected to God, that they therefore try to influence people in a good sense and that therefore these thoughts can be willingly given in to, for they will have no other effect on the person than a good one. On the other hand, the human being is always in danger of wrong thinking if the object of his thoughts is not God but the world. For the world is the kingdom of evil, the world is the kingdom of the one who tries to separate people from God, who tries to increase his power and wants to direct the human being's will in such a way that he fully and completely turns to him alone, i.e. desires everything worldly from the bottom of his heart. And this desire is the admission that the distance from God is right for the human being, that he does not suffer from it but feels comfortable and strives to come closer to the antithesis of God. And then the human being's thinking is wrong, he does not give in to the influence of the good forces but willingly accepts the whisperings of those forces which are in the adversary's service, which are therefore likewise distant from God and lack divine love. How unspeakably important it is to think correctly can be seen from the fact that the activity of the beings of light constantly consists of guiding people's thinking in the right direction, for thinking correctly also means knowing.... to think right means to stand in the truth, and right thinking therefore also assures the human being the realization of everything divine. And he who regocnizes God correctly also desires Him.... he who desires Him reduces the distance from God through his very desire, for his will consciously turns towards God.... And thus, when the human being's will is directed towards God, the spell that has weighed on the being for eternities is broken. The human being has passed the test of earthly life, he has returned to God of his own free will.... He has severed the connection with the opposite pole of God and has entered into an intimate connection with God. His thinking was right, he willingly gave in to those forces that are active for his redemption by absorbing their thoughts and allowing them to have an effect on him, thus making those thoughts his own. For what a person thinks determines his actions.... Right thinking will also make him act rightly, and right action is the fulfilment of divine commandments. Thus, man will always fulfil the divine commandments if his thinking is right, because he uses the spiritual power offered to him in the right sense, he uses it to serve God and his neighbour....

Juist denken – Verkleining van de afstand van God

Weer de gedachten, die rondom u zijn, niet af. Weet, dat geestelijke wezens u onophoudelijk begeleiden. Dat ze proberen om u geestelijke kracht toe te voeren, dat ze u dat over willen dragen, wat goed, dus waarheid is. Dat ze uw gedachten zo willen leiden, dat deze u tot zegen strekken, want als u juist denkt, bent u door de goddelijke liefde gegrepen. Nu heeft de goddelijke liefde macht over u, terwijl de macht van de tegenstander over u gebroken is. En dit is onnoemelijk belangrijk voor het leven op aarde.

Juist te denken verkleint de verwijdering van God. Juist denken heeft tot gevolg, dat het wezen van de mens zich veredelt en God Zelf daarom steeds meer bezit van het wezen kan nemen, omdat het zichzelf aan Hem overgeeft. Want als zijn denken juist is, verlangt de mens naar God. Hij is door de liefde van God gegrepen en deze trekt het wezen onvermijdelijk tot zich, terwijl de verwijdering van God gebrek aan goddelijke liefde betekent.

Wanneer nu het denken van de mens zo beïnvloed wordt, dat hij niet anders kan, dan naar God te verlangen, dan is dit een teken, dat deze wezens, die hem die gedachten proberen door te geven, eveneens met God verbonden zijn, dat ze dus in de goede zin op de mensen proberen in te werken en dat daarom aan deze gedachten gewillig toegegeven kan worden, want ze zullen niet anders dan goed op de mensen inwerken.

Daarentegen verkeert de mens steeds in het gevaar verkeerd te denken, als het onderwerp van zijn gedachten niet God, maar de wereld is. Want de wereld is het rijk van het kwaad. De wereld is het rijk van degene, die probeert om de mensen van God te scheiden, die zijn macht probeert te vergroten en die de wil van de mens zo wil leiden, dat deze zich geheel en al alleen naar hem toekeert, dat wil zeggen dat hij al het wereldse uit het diepste van zijn hart begeert.

En dit verlangen is het toegeven, dat voor de mens de verwijdering van God goed is, dat hij daar niet onder lijdt, maar zich goed voelt en de nadering tot de tegenpool van God nastreeft. En de mens denkt dan verkeerd, hij geeft niet toe aan de invloed van de goede krachten, maar maakt gewillig aanspraak op de influisteringen van deze krachten, die in dienst van de tegenstander staan. Die dus eveneens verwijderd zijn van God en goddelijke liefde ontberen.

Hoe onnoemelijk belangrijk het is om juist te denken, blijkt hieruit, dat de werkzaamheid van de lichtwezens er onophoudelijk uit bestaat om het denken van de mensen in juiste banen te leiden, want juist denken betekent ook weten. Juist denken betekent in de waarheid te staan en juist denken verzekert de mens daarom ook het inzicht in al het goddelijke. En wie God juist herkent, verlangt ook naar Hem. Wie naar Hem verlangt, verkleint ook de afstand van God door juist zijn verlangen, want zijn wil keert zich bewust naar God toe.

En als dus de wil van de mens God betreft, is de ban gebroken, die gedurende eeuwigheden op het wezen gedrukt heeft. De mens heeft de levensproef op aarde doorstaan. Hij is uit vrije beweging naar God teruggekeerd. Hij heeft de verbinding met de tegenpool van God verbroken en is de innige verbinding met God aangegaan. Zijn denken is juist geweest. Hij heeft gewillig aan deze krachten toegegeven, die voor zijn verlossing werkzaam zijn, doordat hij hun gedachten opnam en op zich in liet werken en zich deze gedachten zo eigen maakte.

Want wat de mens denkt, bepaalt zijn handelen. Juist denken zal hem ook juist laten handelen en juist handelen is de vervulling van de goddelijke geboden. Daarom zal de mens, als zijn denken juist is, steeds de goddelijke geboden vervullen, want hij gebruikt de hem geboden geestelijke kracht op de juiste manier. Hij gebruikt haar om God en de naasten te dienen.
