Concept of the supernatural....

The unconscious state of prejudice against everything supersensible is often the cause of blindly walking through earthly life, for understandably only a certain realization can illuminate the path, but this realization can only be gained again through research.... however, everything that lies outside the earth can only be explored again by making use of those forces that are called supersensible, so these must not be eliminated, but the work of such forces must be regocnized. A conscious effort must be made to connect with them in order to become clairvoyant for life on earth. And this requires a certain devotion, but at the same time it also requires the will of the human being to connect with the spiritual. For this endeavour has nothing in common with the earthly desire to possess. He who seeks to fathom supersensible things will not expect or aim at any earthly advantage but will only think of his soul; he will furthermore abandon himself to those powers and thereby regocnize that they are knowing and thus want to accept any teaching from them. He will feel the superiority of these powers and subordinate himself to them, and now the powers in the beyond can also exert their full influence on such a willing earthly child. A person who surrenders to these forces must therefore have a great advantage in spiritual terms, for he is, so to speak, at the source of all knowledge, and even if some things still seem inexplicable to him, he nevertheless accepts everything supernatural and has the deepest understanding for spiritual truths....

All too often wrong and right concepts of the supersensible mix, and that is the cause that the right understanding can only be found there where one has the will to accept what is right. There the will for truth is present and accordingly also the spirit in man is active, and when this spirit now points him to what exists outside of the earth-bound, then man also regocnizes such indications as truth and now also grasps the work of spiritual powers on the other side much sooner, and it now no longer appears supernatural to him, but natural.... Only now does the supernatural explain to him everything that was previously incomprehensible, and he senses that he is only now standing in the truth as he surrenders himself to those forces. Only now does everything seem to make sense to him, and the state of prejudice against the supersensible gives way to a state of complete affirmation of it. He has now crossed a boundary that he believed he was not entitled to cross or that he simply did not want to admit existed.... He has thus crossed over into another realm that his mind previously refused to accept.... He now wanders through this realm in all directions, he repeatedly encounters new areas which are foreign to him and whose exploration stimulates him and makes him happy in his life on earth. For only now is the meaning of earthly life understandable to him, only now does he know his task, and all this gives him an increased zest for life (because) the supersensible is no longer separate from what his senses grasp. Only the spiritual connection with life outside the earth.... the recognition of it.... allows man to consciously immerse himself in the most diverse problems, whereas previously all these problems remained unresolved or were dismissed as unsolvable if they really arise in the heart of man.... but for the most part do not affect the person at all, for he does not waste his thoughts on things that seem unimportant to him. And therefore he will remain completely unimpressed and ignorant who is prejudiced against that which is not tangible or obvious to him.... He blocks his own path to all knowledge, for the latter cannot be found without spiritual strength.... But spiritual power is something invisible and intangible to man.... spiritual power is independent of the earth and its laws, spiritual power cannot be felt with the senses of man, but can be received with the heart at any time. It can therefore never be fathomed by the senses.... it is supersensible. It belongs to that realm which is infinite, which is more than the earth. It is the spiritual power of the stream of life that flows through everything that is.... that emanates from God and is supplied to everything that is God's creation.... And the earth is only a particle of the whole creation; it must therefore be understandable to man that this earth cannot be purpose and goal at the same time, that rather the goal of the beings inhabiting the earth must be another world.... a world which their senses cannot yet grasp, which is therefore supersensible....

초감각적인 개념.

초감각적인 모든 것을 향한 무의식적인 편견이 자주 이 땅의 삶을 맹목적으로 살게 하는 원인이다. 왜냐하면 이해할 수 있는 일은 항상 특정 깨달음이 비로소 길을 밝힐 수 있고, 그러나 이런 깨달음은 다시 연구를 통해서 비로소 얻을 수 있기 때문이다. 이 세상 밖의 모든 일은 단지 초감각이라고 불리는 힘의 사용으로 다시 연구할 수 있다. 그러므로 초감각을 무시해서는 안되고, 초감각적인 세력의 역사를 인정해야만 한다.

이 땅의 생명을 밝게 볼 수 있기 위해서는 의식적으로 초감각적인 세력과 연결을 구해야만 한다. 이를 위해 특정한 헌신을 요구된다. 그러나 동시에 영적인 존재와 연결되려는 인간의 의지가 또한 요구된다. 하지만 이런 추구는 세상적인 것을 소유하기 원하는 것과 공통점이 없다. 초감각적인 것을 헤아려보려는 사람은 이 땅의 이익을 기대하거나 목표로 삼지 않고, 단지 유일하게 자신의 혼을 생각할 것이다. 그는 더 나아가 그런 세력에게 자신을 맡기고, 이로써 그런 세력들이 지식을 가지고 있고, 따라서 그들로부터 어떤 가르침을 받아들이기 원한다는 것을 인정하게 될 것이다.

그는 이런 세력들이 우월하다는 것을 느끼고, 그들에게 자신을 종속시킬 것이다. 이제 저세상의 세력들도 이런 자원하는 이 땅의 자녀에게 모든 영향력을 행사할 수 있다. 따라서 이런 세력에 자신을 의탁하는 사람은 영적인 관점에서 큰 이점을 가져야만 한다. 왜냐하면 그는 어느 정도 모든 지식의 원천에 있고, 어떤 것들이 아직 그에게 설명할 수 없는 것처럼 보일지라도, 그는 모든 초 감각적인 것을 인정하고, 영적인 진리들을 가장 깊게 이해하기 때문이다.

단지 너무 자주 초감각적 개념에 대한 잘못된 개념과 옳은 개념이 혼합된다. 그러므로 옳은 것을 받아들이려는 의지를 가진 사람이 단지 올바르게 이해를 할 수 있게 되는 이유이다. 이런 사람에게 진리를 향한 의지가 존재하고, 이에 따라 사람 안의 영도 활동한다. 만약 이 영이 이제 세상에 묶여 존재하는 것들 밖에 존재하는 것을 알려주면, 사람은 또한 그런 가르침을 진리로 깨닫고, 이제 훨씬 더 빠르게 저세상의 영의 세력의 역사를 이해하게 되고, 그에게는 더 이상 초자연적인 것처럼 보이지 않고 자연적인 것처럼 보인다.

초감각적인 존재가 이제 그에게 그가 이전에는 이해할 수 없었던 모든 것을 설명한다. 그는 이제 진리 안에 있음을 느낀다. 왜냐하면 그가 그런 세력에 자신을 의탁하기 때문이다. 이제 비로소 그에게 모든 것이 의미 있게 보이고, 초감각적 세력에 대한 편견의 상태는 초감각적 세력을 전적으로 긍정하는 상태로 넘어간다. 그는 이제 자신이 넘어설 자격이 없다고 믿었던, 또는 그가 존재한다는 것을 단순히 인정하기를 원하지 않는 한계를 넘어선다. 그러므로 그는 이전에 자신의 생각하는 능력이 영접하기를 원하지 않았던 다른 세계로 들어간다. 그는 이제 이런 세계의 모든 곳을 돌아다닌다. 그는 자신에게 낯설고, 탐험심이 그를 자극하고, 이 땅의 삶을 즐겁게 하는 새로운 영역을 항상 또 다시 만나게 된다.

왜냐하면 그가 비로소 이 땅의 삶의 의미를 이해할 수 있게 되기 때문이다. 그는 이제 비로소 자신의 과제를 알게 되고, 이런 모든 지식이 그에게 삶에 대한 열정을 더 해준다. 왜냐하면 이제 초감각적 것들이 더 이상 그의 감각이 느끼는 것과 분리된 상태가 아니기 때문이다. 이 땅의 밖의 생명과 영적인 연합과 이런 연합을 인정하는 일이 사람들이 가장 다양한 문제에 의식적으로 몰두할 수 있게 해준다. 반면에 이전에는 대부분의 사람들이 전혀 접촉하지 못한, 이런 모든 문제가 실제 사람의 심장 안에 떠오르면, 해결할 수 없는 것으로 머물거나, 해결할 수 없는 것으로 무시되었다. 왜냐하면 사람은 자신에게 중요하지 않은 것에 대해 생각하지 않기 때문이다.

그러므로 편견을 가지고 그의 눈에 보이지 않거나, 손으로 잡을 수 없는 것을 부인하는 사람은 전혀 감동을 받지 않고, 무지한 가운데 머물게 될 것이다. 그는 자신이 모든 깨달음을 얻는 길을 스스로 막는다. 왜냐하면 모든 깨달음은 영적인 힘이 없이는 찾을 수 없기 때문이다. 그러나 영의 힘은 사람들에게 보이지 않고 형체가 없는 것이다. 영의 힘은 이 땅의 법칙과는 무관하다. 영의 힘은 인간의 감각으로 느낄 수 없지만 심장으로는 언제든지 받을 수 있다. 그러므로 영의 힘은 절대로 감각을 통해 헤아려 볼 수 없다. 영의 힘은 초자연적이고, 이 땅보다 큰 무한한 세계에 속한 것이다.

영의 힘은 하나님으로부터 나와, 존재하는 모든 것을 통해 흐르는 생명의 흐름이고, 모든 하나님의 창조물에게 공급이 된다. 이 땅은 단지 전체 창조물의 일부이다. 그러므로 인간은 이 땅이 동시에 목적과 목표가 될 수 없고, 이 땅에 거주하는 존재의 목표가 초 감각적이고, 감각으로는 파악할 수 없는 다른 세계여야만 함을 이해할 수 있게 되어야만 한다.
