Arrogance.... knowledge.... faith....

An insurmountable obstacle to spiritual maturity is a person's arrogant opinion that he has knowledge and therefore no longer needs to be taught, for this person erects such a wall and, as it were, sets barriers to his spirit that cannot be removed until such a person's thinking is completely transformed and he humbly regocnizes his previous wrong thinking. A cup cannot hold clear, pure water as long as it contains any other liquid. And thus, if the human intellect is utilized for knowledge of any kind and one believes to be able to solve spiritual questions with such knowledge, one will hardly deal with spiritual things. And it is therefore very difficult to win over a person who is fully occupied with earthly matters to solve spiritual questions, for every minute seems precious to him for earthly purposes and so he resists what he considers to be useless thinking. He only sees the world and tries to get behind unsolved questions intellectually, and his results are always unimpeachable as long as he can prove them purely intellectually. He rejects research on a spiritual path, and so it is ultimately the work and activity of God that can be made comprehensible to him. And just as little will his spirit be able to make contact with the divine original spirit.... For it remains unawakened despite the greatest worldly knowledge, and thus a person who has the greatest successes to show before the world is small and poor in spiritual knowledge.... Judging soberly, he only sees everything on the outside, he only sees the shell, but not the core.... He sees what is around him, but not its purpose and meaning. He has no visible proof of spiritual assertions, and so he arrogantly stands in defence of everything that spiritual research has achieved. And it is therefore extremely regrettable that spiritual truths find no entry where the human being actually wants to be highly developed, and this solely because he has eliminated faith from his life.... How enormously far a person could go in his knowledge if he wanted to connect the spiritual gift given to him by God, his intellectual thinking, with the deepest faith.... All areas would be opened up to him and all knowledge imparted to him if he could truly believe that God can enlighten his spirit and introduce him to all truth. But spiritual arrogance sets a boundary between worldly and spiritual knowledge.... spiritual arrogance creates an insurmountable barrier; it is an obstacle that cannot be overcome in any other way than by recognizing one's own inadequacy and, as a result, the deepest inner humility.... Only then can the right path.... the path to truth.... can be travelled....

Arrogância.... Knowledge.... Faith....

Um obstáculo intransponível à maturidade espiritual é a opinião arrogante de uma pessoa de que ela está no conhecimento e, portanto, não precisa mais de instruções, pois essa pessoa ergue tal muro e, por assim dizer, estabelece barreiras para o seu espírito que não podem ser removidas até que o pensamento dessa pessoa seja completamente transformado e ela humildemente reconheça seu pensamento errado anterior. Uma chávena não pode conter água límpida e pura enquanto contiver qualquer outro líquido. E assim, como o intelecto humano é usado para conhecimento de todos os tipos e se acredita ser capaz de resolver questões espirituais com tal conhecimento, dificilmente se tratará de coisas espirituais. E assim é muito difícil conquistar uma pessoa totalmente ocupada com a Terra para as soluções das questões espirituais, pois cada minuto lhe parece precioso para fins terrenos, e assim ele resiste ao que ele considera pensamento inútil. Ele só vê o mundo e procura ficar por trás de perguntas não resolvidas intelectualmente, e seus resultados são sempre irrepreensíveis, desde que ele possa prová-las puramente intelectualmente. Ele rejeita a pesquisa espiritual e, portanto, o trabalho e a atividade de Deus é a última coisa a ser tornada compreensível para ele. E nem o seu espírito será capaz de entrar em contacto com o espírito original divino..... Pois ela permanece desperta apesar do maior conhecimento do mundo, e assim uma pessoa que tem os maiores sucessos perante o mundo é pequena e pobre em conhecimento espiritual..... A julgar sóbrio, ele vê apenas toda a vida exterior, ele vê apenas a concha, mas não o núcleo.... Ele vê o que está à sua volta, mas não o seu propósito e significado. Ele não tem provas visíveis de reivindicações espirituais e, portanto, ele se defende arrogantemente contra tudo o que a pesquisa espiritual trouxe à tona. E por isso é extremamente lamentável que as verdades espirituais não encontrem entrada onde o homem quer realmente ser altamente desenvolvido, e isso só porque ele eliminou a fé da sua vida..... Até onde uma pessoa poderia ir no seu conhecimento que gostaria de levar o dom espiritual que lhe foi dado por Deus, o seu pensamento intelectual, em conexão com a mais profunda fé..... Todas as áreas lhe seriam abertas e todo o conhecimento lhe seria transmitido se ele pudesse realmente acreditar que Deus pode iluminar seu espírito e apresentá-lo a toda a verdade. Mas a arrogância espiritual estabelece uma fronteira entre o conhecimento mundano e espiritual.... A arrogância espiritual estabelece uma barreira intransponível, é um obstáculo que não pode ser vencido de outra forma que não seja através do reconhecimento da própria inadequação e da consequente humildade interior mais profunda..... Só então o caminho certo.... o caminho para a verdade.... pode ser seguido. pode ser seguido....
