Activity in the afterlife.... ray of light....

This should be especially emphasized to you, that only the soul which consciously turned to the eternal deity in earthly life can enter the spheres of light. For dwelling in the light requires a state which in turn can only be attained with God's help and therefore has to be requested by faith in Him. But a person without faith is also incapable of acquiring strength in order to reach the same state of maturity, because a dark state of the soul makes it impossible to dwell in the light. Such a soul can only stay in an environment which is adapted to its immature state, even though it also suffers unspeakably from the darkness. Through God's grace, through prayer or people's loving remembrance and help from the higher spiritual beings the soul nevertheless comes close to a ray of light at times in order to arouse its will and awaken the desire to enter a more luminous environment. And every ray of light has some cause, and it is always based on spiritual activity of love and therefore has to have a beneficial effect on the souls of darkness. Incorrigible, i.e. completely unwilling souls flee from such a ray, yet the souls which feel their darkness oppressively are infinitely grateful for such attention and make an effort to remain in constant contact with the beings which want to help them although they have not yet regocnized their power. The souls now receive the most varied instructions and are always advised to lend a helping hand wherever a soul is in dire need.... As a result, a kind of community soon arises among them, they all want to serve each other and ease each other's lot, and this endeavour is the beginning of ascent. As soon as a soul has regocnized how unspeakably the souls suffer who have not lived in accordance with God's will on earth, it is also willing to help and eagerly tries to make up for what it has neglected to do for the beings whose fate is likewise self-inflicted darkness. Yet the struggle is unspeakably difficult where no prayer on earth can bring relief. They are now so painfully deprived of the works of love they neglected on earth, and therefore you humans are repeatedly admonished: Help them through your prayer in their struggle for light.... give them strength to strive for light through your love and turn your compassion towards them so that a ray of light may shine for them too and show them the way upwards.

Werkzaamheid in het hiernamaals – Lichtstraal

Laat dit jullie bijzonder op het hart gedrukt zijn, dat alleen die ziel, die zich in het aardse leven bewust naar de eeuwige Godheid toekeerde, in lichte sferen kan binnengaan. Want een verblijf in het licht vereist een staat, die weer alleen maar te bereiken is met de hulp van God en dus gelovig aan Hem gevraagd moet worden.

Maar een mens zonder geloof is ook niet in staat om zich kracht toe te eigenen om dezelfde staat van rijpheid te bereiken, want een duistere toestand van de ziel maakt een verblijf in het licht onmogelijk. Zo’n ziel kan zich alleen maar in de omgeving ophouden, die aan haar toestand van rijpheid aangepast is, ofschoon ze ook onnoemelijk onder de duisternis lijdt.

Door de genade van God, door gebed of het liefdevol gedenken van de mensen en hulp van hogere geestelijke wezens komt de ziel toch op bepaalde momenten in de nabijheid van een lichtstraal om haar wil te prikkelen en het verlangen op te wekken om in een lichtvolle omgeving te komen. En elke lichtstraal heeft één of andere oorzaak en aan hem liggen altijd geestelijke werken van liefde ten grondslag. Dit moet dus bijgevolg een weldadig effect op de zielen in de duisternis hebben.

Onverbeterlijke, dat wil zeggen volledig onwillige zielen ontvluchten zo’n straal, maar de zielen, die hun duisternis als bedrukkend ervaren, zijn eindeloos dankbaar voor een dergelijke schenking en spannen zich in om in voortdurende verbinding te blijven met de wezens, die hen willen helpen, ofschoon ze hun macht nog niet herkend hebben. De meest uiteenlopende onderrichtingen worden de zielen nu toegestuurd en steeds worden ze erop gewezen om overal een hulpvaardige hand te bieden, waar een ziel in erge nood verkeert. Daardoor ontstaat er dan spoedig een soort gemeenschap onder hen, waar allen elkaar willen dienen en voor elkaar het lot lichter willen maken. En dit streven is het begin van het opwaarts gaan.

Zodra een ziel eenmaal herkend heeft, hoe onnoemelijk die zielen, die op aarde niet volgens de wil van God geleefd hebben, lijden, is ze ook tot hulp bereid en probeert het verzuimde ijverig via het wezen, wiens lot eveneens een aan zichzelf te wijten duisternis is, in te halen.

Maar waar geen gebed op aarde verlichting geeft, is het strijden onnoemlijke zwaar. Wat ze op aarde aan werken van liefde verzuimden, ontberen ze nu dus smartelijk, en daarom worden jullie mensen steeds weer aangespoord: Help hen door jullie gebed in de strijd om licht. Geef hun door jullie liefde kracht te streven naar licht, en heb medelijden met hen, opdat een lichtstraal hen verlicht en hen de weg naar boven wijst.
