Purity of heart.... happiness of union.... weakness of faith....

In the purity of the heart the human being is able to feel the presence of the lord, for it is the first condition for specialization and thus the occurrence of the divine spirit of love. Man cannot yet grasp the difference between a being walking with or without the lord in it. For the former is still a foreign concept to him as long as he does not experience it in himself. Yet the union of the spirit of God with the divine spiritual spark in the human being is so extremely intoxicating and therefore also indescribable that everyone would strive to experience this happiness. But this cannot be achieved in any other way than through profound faith and a God-pleasing way of life which consists of utmost love towards his neighbour and is thus rooted in love for God. He who is pure of heart lives, so to speak, according to divine will and thus draws divinity itself to himself. However, purity of heart is also necessary in order to receive God as the purest, most honourable being in it.... clear and blameless must be the way of life of the one whom the divine saviour appreciates in His presence.... love must adorn the heart for the most splendid stay for the lord.... and His all-encompassing love will outshine everything, and unification will now be able to take place.... When the need approaches the human being and he threatens to become wavering, a barrier is always set again which prevents the divine saviour from entering the heart, for faith is weak.... and only a strong, rock-solid faith opens the door of the heart. The incomprehensible happiness would be unbearable with weak faith, it would make the human being completely unsuitable for earthly fulfilment of duty, but strong faith, on the other hand, would enable the human being to be extraordinarily active on earth, and thus it will be understandable to you that your weakness of faith is still an obstacle and that you have to struggle in prayer so that you will first master your doubts in order to be able to enjoy the great happiness while still on earth. A heart cleansed of all dross will, as it were, also banish all doubts and thus await the lord with complete faith, and through this profound faith it will consciously be able to bring about unification in the shortest time, but the doubter will still be denied the highest happiness on earth until he has convinced himself to have the strongest faith....

Zuiverheid van het hart – Geluk van de vereniging – Zwakte van het geloof

In de zuiverheid van het hart is de mens in staat om de tegenwoordigheid van de Heer te voelen, want ze is de eerste voorwaarde voor het specialiseren en ook voor het in werking treden van de goddelijke liefdesgeest.

De mens kan het onderscheid tussen het wel of niet wandelen van het wezen met de Heer in zich, niet begrijpen. Want het eerste is voor hem nog een vreemd idee, zolang hij het bij zichzelf niet meemaakt. Maar de vereniging van de goddelijke geest met de goddelijke geestvonk in de mens is zo buitengewoon overweldigend en daarom ook onbeschrijfelijk, dat iedereen er naar zou streven om dit geluk mee te maken. Maar dit is voor de mens niet anders bereikbaar, dan door een diep geloof en een God welgevallige levenswandel, die uit uiterste liefdadigheid ten opzichte van zijn naasten bestaat en dus in de liefde voor God wortelt.

Wie zuiver van hart is, leeft om zo te zeggen volgens de goddelijke wil en trekt dus de goddelijkheid zelf aan. Maar de zuiverheid van het hart is ook noodzakelijk om God als het zuiverste, meest verheven Wezen in zich op te kunnen nemen. De levenswandel van degene, die waardig is voor de aanwezigheid van de goddelijke Heiland, moet zuiver en onberispelijk zijn. De liefde moet het hart versieren tot het prachtigste verblijf voor de Heer. En Zijn alles omvattende liefde zal alles overtreffen en nu zal de eenwording plaats kunnen vinden.

Wanneer de nood de mens nu nadert en hij dreigt wankelmoedig te worden, dan wordt er steeds weer een barrière geplaatst, die de goddelijke Heiland de toegang tot het hart belet, want het geloof is zwak. En alleen een sterk rotsvast geloof opent de deur van het hart. Met een zwak geloof zou het onvoorstelbare geluk niet te verdragen zijn. Het zou de mens volledig onbruikbaar maken voor de aardse plichtsvervulling. Maar een sterk geloof zou de mens daarentegen bekwaam maken voor een buitengewoon aards werkzaam zijn. En zo zal het begrijpelijk voor je zijn, dat de zwakte van jouw geloof nog een hindernis is en jij in het gebed moet strijden, opdat je de twijfel eerst meester wordt om het grote geluk nog op aarde te kunnen genieten.

Een van alle afvalstoffen gezuiverd hart zal in zekere zin ook alle twijfel verbannen en dus in vol geloof de Heer verwachten. En het zal door dit diepe geloof bewust in heel korte tijd de vereniging kunnen bewerkstelligen. Maar de twijfelaar zal het hoogste geluk op aarde zo lang onthouden worden, totdat hij zich tot het sterkste geloof doorgeworsteld heeft.
