Wrestling of the soul.... prayer.... free will.... matter....

The soul has to overcome unspeakable difficulties before it has become master of all matter. For it is in battle with matter until it consciously strives for help, and again, it will only do the latter when it has overcome its desire for earthly possessions, thus it has, as it were, already declared war on matter. But in order to be able to overcome it needs the support of helpful spiritual beings which it makes serviceable to itself through prayer. But it still has to struggle a lot and has to be restlessly active itself, for the soul can only mature through its own work, and the support of spiritual friends only consists of conveying the necessary strength to the struggling soul, but which it now has to utilize itself in realization of its earthly task. Thus a complete transformation is undoubtedly within every person's power once the will has decided to do so.... People sometimes believe that they cannot do anything themselves and only ever have to carry out God's will, and again it should be pointed out that the human being is not subject to any coercion from the divine creator in a spiritual respect, that instead all freedom of will is left to him if it concerns his soul's salvation. His thoughts will indeed be directed by the spiritual side towards spiritual problems, he will receive enlightenment in many questions, yet his will will be completely free to decide whether and to what extent the transmitted thoughts will be accepted and taken to heart. And likewise, the human being is free to gain the necessary strength through prayer in order to meet the most difficult demands. Consequently, the human soul undoubtedly has to fulfil a great task which consists of taking care of its transformation so that it will lift itself out of the darkness of spirit.... so that it will liberate itself from the fetters of matter, and this through love.... it must constantly be active to shape itself.... it must reject everything ignoble, it must strive for perfection and always be mindful of the fact that it only has a short time at its disposal which should serve its transformation.... it must also know that it is at the greatest disadvantage if the time on earth has not brought it maturity, and therefore only strive for one thing, to be constantly active to constantly wrestle and detach itself from everything that appears desirable to it in order to finally conquer matter and thereby free itself from every shackle which prevents it from ascending into light spheres....

Wrestling of the Soul.... Oração.... Free Will.... Matéria....

A alma tem de superar dificuldades indescritíveis antes de se tornar mestre de toda a matéria. Pois está em batalha com a matéria até que se esforce conscientemente por ajuda e, mais uma vez, só a fará quando tiver superado o seu desejo de posses terrenas, portanto, já declarou, por assim dizer, guerra à matéria. Mas, para poder superá-la, precisa do apoio de seres espirituais úteis, que ela torna útil a si mesma através da oração. Mas ainda tem de lutar muito e tem de ser ela própria agitada, pois a alma só pode amadurecer através do seu próprio trabalho, e o apoio dos amigos espirituais consiste apenas em transmitir a força necessária à alma em luta, mas que agora tem de utilizar para a realização da sua tarefa terrena. Assim, uma transformação completa está sem dúvida dentro do poder de cada pessoa, se apenas uma vez que a vontade tenha decidido fazê-lo.... As pessoas às vezes acreditam que não podem fazer nada por si mesmas e só têm de cumprir a vontade de Deus, e mais uma vez deve ser salientado que o ser humano não está sujeito a qualquer compulsão do Criador divino num respeito espiritual, que em vez disso toda a liberdade de vontade é deixada a ele, se se trata da salvação da sua alma. Os seus pensamentos serão realmente dirigidos pelo lado espiritual para os problemas espirituais, ele receberá esclarecimento em muitas perguntas, mas será completamente livre para decidir se e em que medida os pensamentos transmitidos serão aceitos e levados a sério. E da mesma forma, o ser humano é livre para ganhar as forças necessárias através da oração, a fim de satisfazer as exigências mais difíceis. Consequentemente, a alma humana tem, sem dúvida, de cumprir uma grande tarefa que consiste em cuidar da sua transformação para que ela se levante da escuridão do espírito.... para que se redima das grilhetas da matéria, e que através do amor.... deve estar constantemente activo na sua formação.... deve rejeitar tudo o que é ignóbil, deve lutar pela perfeição e ter sempre em mente que tem apenas um curto período de tempo à sua disposição que deve servir a sua transformação.... deve também saber que ela própria tem a maior desvantagem se o tempo na terra não lhe trouxe maturidade e, portanto, só se esforçar por uma coisa, estar constantemente activa.... lutar incessantemente e desprender-se de tudo o que lhe pareça desejável para finalmente conquistar a matéria e assim libertar-se de todas as algemas que a impedem de ascender a esferas de luz....
