Vermin.... technical aids....

It is of extraordinary importance to know that the countless living beings must fulfil functions of their own accord which contribute to the preservation of other living beings. This is the case, for example, with all flying insects, because at the same time their ingestion of food is the cause of the transfer of the finest dust particles and thus serves to fertilize the plant world. The finest tools must serve the living creature for this activity, and this also explains the extremely finely constructed physique of such a being, which represents a true miniature work of art in God's creation. The beings' reproductive activity is not always so obvious to people and they are even less able to recognize its purpose with their physical eyes, instead, they have to take refuge in faith and be convinced that nothing in the whole of creation is without purpose, that rather one always contributes to the existence of the other and is therefore necessary. Even what you humans call vermin is in a certain respect necessary for the continued existence of other living beings, and incidentally they also have the spiritual task of being bearers of infinitely many spiritual entities and not least to test the human being's necessary power of resistance through their earthly activity. Life must offer the human being resistances of all kinds, since he can only mature by overcoming them. What sometimes seems unbearable to you can, on the other hand, even serve to increase your well-being physically, for you again do not know the many dangers to which the body would be exposed without the small and very small living beings that are constantly active to reduce them, some of which you are not able to see with your physical eyes. The surface of the earth, the water and the air are the abode of these beings.... Through the technical inventions of men the presence of the smallest living beings, which are invisible to the naked eye, has been established, but your knowledge only extends to a part of the infinitely many living beings, for creation is, as it were, composed of the tiniest living beings, which again are in themselves a pure work of wonder and illustrate the wisdom and omnipotence of God to him who is able to see with spiritual eyes and to the perfect spirit standing in the light....

Ongedierte – Technisch hulpmiddelen

Het is van buitengewoon belang om verder nog te weten, dat de talloze levende wezens vanuit zichzelf die functies moeten vervullen, die weer aan de instandhouding van andere levende wezens bijdragen. Zo is dit bijvoorbeeld bij alle vliegende insecten het geval, waar haar voedselopname tegelijkertijd oorzaak is van de overdracht van de fijnste stofjes en hiermee dient het de bevruchting in de plantenwereld. De fijnste gereedschappen moeten voor deze bezigheid het levende wezen dienen. En zo is ook de buitengewoon fijn geconstrueerde lichaamsopbouw van zo’n wezen te verklaren, die een waar miniatuur kunstwerk in de schepping van God voorstelt.

Niet altijd is de geslachtsdaad van wezens zo duidelijk zichtbaar voor de mensen. En nog veel minder kan hij de bestemming van dit wezen met zijn lichamelijke ogen herkennen. Hij moet veeleer zijn toevlucht nemen tot het geloof en er van overtuigd zijn, dat niets in de gehele schepping zonder wat voor opdracht dan ook is. Dat veeleer steeds het ene aan het bestaan van het andere bijdraagt en dus noodzakelijk is.

Zelfs dat, wat jullie mensen ongedierte noemen, is in een zeker opzicht nodig voor het voortbestaan van weer andere levende wezens. En bovendien rust op hen ook nog de geestelijke opdracht om drager van eindeloos veel geestelijke wezens te zijn en niet in de laatste plaats door haar aardse werkzaamheid door het benodigde weerstandsvermogen van de mensen te beproeven. Het leven moet de mens allerlei soorten weerstanden bieden, omdat hij alleen door het overwinnen hiervan kan rijpen.

Wat jullie soms ondraaglijk lijkt, kan anderzijds ook zelfs lichamelijk tot verhoging van jullie welbevinden dienen, want jullie kennen weer niet de vele gevaren, waaraan het lichaam blootgesteld zou zijn zonder de ter vermindering van deze gevaren onophoudelijk werkzame kleine en allerkleinste levende wezens, die jullie ten dele niet in staat zijn om met jullie lichamelijke ogen te zien. Het verblijf van deze wezens is het aardoppervlak, het water en de lucht.

Door de technische uitvindingen van de mensen, werd het met het blote oog niet zichtbaar aanwezig zijn van de kleinste levende wezens vastgesteld. Maar jullie kennis strekt zich alleen maar uit over een deel van de eindeloos veel levende wezens. Want de schepping is als het ware samengesteld uit de nietigste levende wezens, die op zichzelf weer een zuiver wonderwerk zijn en die de wijsheid en almacht van God aanschouwelijk maakt voor degenen, die in staat zijn om met geestelijke ogen te kijken en de in het licht staande volmaakte geest.
