Danger of becoming lukewarm.... regression.... extreme struggle of the soul....

It is a long way to perfection. Once the soul has asserted itself in resistance to the power striving for its downfall and has recognized its exit from God, it certainly remains in the permanent care of its spiritual friends who stand helpfully by its side, but its striving for perfection must find the driving force within itself, its will must remain active, as it were, without interruption in order to reach perfection. Every deviation from the right path, every sluggishness and carelessness must be made up for by double devotion and work on oneself and cannot be replaced by external strength or help. With its own will the soul achieves everything, without its will nothing.... Therefore no standstill may occur in the desire to reach the height, for a standstill is tantamount to a decline. A person whose soul is no longer active for its eternal salvation will certainly turn to the world again just to have some kind of activity and re-establish the connection with matter instead of separating from it, which is his actual task. And thus the danger of regression is always far greater than that of standstill, for the latter only lasts a short time, and then the human being again pursues his spiritual work, or he distances himself from it, which everyone should anxiously endeavour to prevent. For the opportunity of a step backwards is immediately taken advantage of by the bad forces which always lie in wait for him and for their part affect such a soul with all the means at their disposal. And the struggle begins anew and demands the fullest power of resistance and readiness for action. Every soul should therefore only ever take care that it does not tire in its striving upwards, it should daily assure itself of divine grace through constant prayer and in every adversity and in the danger of becoming lukewarm trustingly turn to the father in heaven for help. This already presupposes the earth child's will, and as soon as the will becomes active precisely through prayer, the soul remains in constant work on itself, and the danger of regression is eliminated. Its struggle has already lasted an inconceivably long time, and even if great demands are placed on the soul in earthly life, the soul should nevertheless wrestle tirelessly precisely now in order to pass the final test and to be able to leave its state of compulsion and, as a free light being, to behold all God's glories and to find eternal happiness in union with the supreme being. And therefore it should consciously renounce that which still connects it with the world and matter, even though its body still dwells on earth.... but the soul can hurry ahead into the realms of supreme bliss if only it continues to let its will become active and prevents or fights against any slackening of spiritual striving....

Le danger de devenir tiède - la rétrogradation – la lutte extrême de l'âme

Il y a un long chemin jusqu'à la perfection. Si l'âme s’impose dans la résistance contre le pouvoir qui cherche son naufrage et a reconnu son origine divine, alors elle reste sous la garde continue de ses amis spirituels, qui l'assistent en l'aidant, mais pour sa tendance à la perfection elle doit trouver en elle-même la force de poussée, sa volonté doit être continuellement active pour arriver à la perfection. Chaque déviation de la voie droite, toute paresse et négligence doit être compensée au travers d’un dévouement redoublé dans le travail sur elle-même et cela ne peut pas être remplacé par la force ou par une aide étrangère. L'âme avec sa volonté atteint tout, sans celle-ci, rien. Donc il ne doit apparaître aucun arrêt dans le désir d’atteindre la Hauteur, parce qu'un arrêt équivaut à une rétrogradation. Un homme dont l'âme n'est plus active pour son salut éternel, se tournera avec certitude de nouveau vers le monde, pour avoir justement une activité, et il établira de nouveau la liaison avec la matière au lieu de s’en séparer, ce qui est sa vraie tâche. Et ainsi le danger d'une rétrogradation est beaucoup plus grand qu’un arrêt, parce que ce dernier dure seulement peu de temps, mais ensuite l'homme suit de nouveau son travail spirituel, ou bien s'en éloigne, chose que chacun devrait s’efforcer d'éviter sérieusement, parce que les mauvaises forces qui sont en guet-apens autour de lui exploitent vite l'occasion d'une rétrogradation et agissent à leur tour sur une telle âme avec tous les moyens à leur disposition. Et la lutte recommence à nouveau, et elle exige une très grande force de résistance et de disponibilité d'emploi. Chaque âme doit donc toujours seulement prendre soin ne pas s’affaiblir dans sa tendance vers le Haut, elle doit implorer quotidiennement la Grâce divine à travers une prière constante, et dans toute misère et dans tout danger elle ne doit pas devenir paresseuse et se tourner confiante vers le Père dans le Ciel pour obtenir Son Aide. Cette dernière va dépendre de la volonté du fils terrestre mais dès que cette volonté devient active à travers la prière l'âme reste dans un travail constant sur elle-même et elle est protégée du danger d'une rétrogradation. Sa lutte a déjà duré un temps infiniment long, et également dans la vie terrestre l'âme est soumise à de grandes exigences, alors encore maintenant l'âme doit lutter infatigablement pour soutenir la dernière épreuve et pouvoir abandonner son état de contrainte et devenir un être libre, lumineux, apte à contempler toutes les Magnificences de Dieu et dans l'unification avec l'Entité la plus haute trouver l'éternel bonheur. Et donc elle doit consciemment se détacher de ce qui la lie encore au monde et à la matière, bien que le corps demeure encore sur la Terre, mais l'âme peut courir en avant dans les champs de la plus haute Béatitude, si seulement elle laisse sa volonté être active continuellement et empêche sa tendance spirituelle de faiblir sinon elle doit combattre cette défaillance.
