Danger of becoming lukewarm.... regression.... extreme struggle of the soul....

It is a long way to perfection. Once the soul has asserted itself in resistance to the power striving for its downfall and has recognized its exit from God, it certainly remains in the permanent care of its spiritual friends who stand helpfully by its side, but its striving for perfection must find the driving force within itself, its will must remain active, as it were, without interruption in order to reach perfection. Every deviation from the right path, every sluggishness and carelessness must be made up for by double devotion and work on oneself and cannot be replaced by external strength or help. With its own will the soul achieves everything, without its will nothing.... Therefore no standstill may occur in the desire to reach the height, for a standstill is tantamount to a decline. A person whose soul is no longer active for its eternal salvation will certainly turn to the world again just to have some kind of activity and re-establish the connection with matter instead of separating from it, which is his actual task. And thus the danger of regression is always far greater than that of standstill, for the latter only lasts a short time, and then the human being again pursues his spiritual work, or he distances himself from it, which everyone should anxiously endeavour to prevent. For the opportunity of a step backwards is immediately taken advantage of by the bad forces which always lie in wait for him and for their part affect such a soul with all the means at their disposal. And the struggle begins anew and demands the fullest power of resistance and readiness for action. Every soul should therefore only ever take care that it does not tire in its striving upwards, it should daily assure itself of divine grace through constant prayer and in every adversity and in the danger of becoming lukewarm trustingly turn to the father in heaven for help. This already presupposes the earth child's will, and as soon as the will becomes active precisely through prayer, the soul remains in constant work on itself, and the danger of regression is eliminated. Its struggle has already lasted an inconceivably long time, and even if great demands are placed on the soul in earthly life, the soul should nevertheless wrestle tirelessly precisely now in order to pass the final test and to be able to leave its state of compulsion and, as a free light being, to behold all God's glories and to find eternal happiness in union with the supreme being. And therefore it should consciously renounce that which still connects it with the world and matter, even though its body still dwells on earth.... but the soul can hurry ahead into the realms of supreme bliss if only it continues to let its will become active and prevents or fights against any slackening of spiritual striving....

Peligro de volverse tibio.... Regresión.... Lucha extrema del alma....

Es un largo camino hacia la perfección. Si el alma se ha afirmado en la resistencia contra el poder que se esfuerza por su caída y ha reconocido su origen en Dios, entonces permanece en el cuidado constante de sus amigos espirituales que están a su lado para ayudarla, pero su esfuerzo por la perfección debe encontrar la fuerza motriz dentro de sí mismo, su voluntad debe permanecer activa, por así decirlo, ininterrumpidamente para lograr la perfección. Toda desviación del camino correcto, toda inercia y negligencia debe ser compensada con redoblada devoción y el trabajo sobre sí mismo y no puede ser sustituida por fuerza o ayudas ajenas. Con su propia voluntad el alma puede lograr todo, sin su propia voluntad nada.... Por eso no debe producirse un estancamiento en el anhelo de alcanzar la altura, porque un estancamiento equivale a una regresión.

Una persona cuya alma ya no se esfuerza por su salvación eterna, ciertamente volverá a dirigirse nuevamente al mundo para tener alguna actividad y restaurar la conexión con la materia en lugar de separarse de ella, que es su verdadera tarea. Y así el peligro de una regresión es siempre mucho mayor que el de un estancamiento, porque este último dura poco tiempo, y luego el ser humano vuelve de nuevo a su trabajo espiritual, o se aleja de ello, que todos deberían estar ansiosos por prevenir. Porque las malas fuerzas que siempre acechan a su alrededor aprovechan inmediatamente la oportunidad para dar un paso atrás y, por su parte incidir en tal alma con todos los medios a su alcance. Y la lucha comienza de nuevo y exige la más plena fuerza de resistencia y disposición para la acción.

Cada alma, por tanto, debe cuidar siempre de no cansarse en su esfuerzo hacia arriba, debe asegurarse de la gracia diva a través de la oración constante todos los días y en toda necesidad y en el peligro de volverse tibio, acudir confiadamente al Padre Que está en los cielos en busca de ayuda. Esto presupone ya la voluntad del hijo terrenal, y tan pronto como la voluntad se activa por medio de la oración, el alma se mantiene en constante trabajo sobre sí misma, y se elimina el peligro de una regresión.

Su lucha ya ha durado tiempos impensablemente largos, y si al alma también se le exige mucho en la vida terrenal, precisamente ahora debe luchar incansablemente para pasar la última prueba y poder salir de su estado de compulsión y como un libre ser de luz mirar todas las glorias de Dios y encontrar la felicidad eterna en la unificación con el Ser Supremo. Y, por lo tanto, debe deshacerse conscientemente con lo que todavía la conecta con el mundo y la materia, aunque su cuerpo todavía está en la tierra.... pero el alma puede precipitarse hacia el reino de la más alta felicidad, si tan solo deja que su voluntad actué de inmediato y previene o lucha contra cualquier aflojamiento del esfuerzo espiritual....
