Care and cult of the body.... anticipating nature.... ageing....

If life on earth becomes difficult for you, take refuge in Me.... I want to be your strength and comfort in difficult times, and whoever walks with Me will overcome all difficulties. But let it be said to you that you must also be active yourselves if you want Me to bless you.

Nature demands its law and so you must submit to the laws of nature, but you must also practice self-conquest where possible. And life will often present you with the decision as to whether you want to be at the will of the body or the soul. And the body will demand many things and you will want to grant them to it, yet the soul's benefit is only slight if the body is granted fulfilment, whereas the soul will gain immensely if the body renounces what is granted to it. The greatest danger of all is that the body is granted the right to rule.... that only its comfort is always taken into account and man's concern is constantly to care for it, and a perpetual cult around it is cause to neglect the actual work on the soul, and (it = ed.) this is certainly conducive to the preservation of the body, but never to the shaping of the soul, and the former is extremely unimportant in relation to the actual earthly task, which must be seriously considered where concern for the physical well-being is predominant. So never let yourselves be tempted to want to anticipate nature by trying to change or stop what must take its natural course. Test your power.... it will be inadequate compared to the existing laws of nature.... yet where the body takes the path of decay, there the soul shall mature and become ever more perfect, which is why the former must pass away to the same extent as the soul endeavours to live spiritually. The soul has to overcome a greater obstacle, as it were, in an outwardly well-educated body, since all inclination to the world is inherent in it and greater demands are made on the soul in overcoming itself through frequent stimuli from the world. Anyone who despises his body but carefully looks after his soul with spiritual care will have made good use of his time on earth and he will also feel purely outwardly well since this does not appear to him to be the only thing worth striving for and he will therefore be provided with everything he needs to live. For I consider My children on earth as it serves them.... I give where they gladly renounce and deny where they are overly desirous of earthly goods, because I do not want the body alone to be considered but the soul should first be rescued from its misery....

Sorge und Kult um den Körper.... Der Natur vorgreifen.... Altern....

So euch das Erdenleben schwer wird, flüchtet zu Mir.... Ich will euch Kraft und Trost sein in schwerer Stunde, und wer mit Mir wandelt, wird alles Schwere überwinden. Doch es sei euch gesagt, daß ihr auch selbst tätig sein müßt, wollet ihr, daß Ich euch segne.

Die Natur verlangt ihr Recht, und so müsset ihr euch den Gesetzen der Natur fügen, desgleichen müßt ihr aber auch euch in der Selbstüberwindung üben, wo es angängig ist. Und das Leben wird euch oft vor die Entscheidung stellen, ob ihr dem Körper oder der Seele zu Willen sein wollt. Und es wird der Körper manches fordern, und ihr werdet es ihm gewähren wollen, doch der Seele Nutzen ist nur gering, wenn dem Körper Erfüllung wird, dagegen wird die Seele ungemein gewinnen, wo der Körper Verzicht leistet auf das ihm Zusagende. Die allergrößte Gefahr besteht darin, daß dem Körper das Recht eingeräumt wird zu herrschen.... daß nur immer seiner Behaglichkeit Rechnung getragen wird und des Menschen Sorge ständig ist, ihn zu pflegen, und ein immerwährender Kult um ihn Anlaß ist, die eigentliche Arbeit an der Seele zu vernachlässigen, und (es = d. Hg.) ist dies wohl der Erhaltung des Leibes dienlich, nimmer aber der Gestaltung der Seele, und erstere ist im Verhältnis zur eigentlichen Erdenaufgabe äußerst unwichtig, das ist ernstlich zu bedenken, wo die Sorge um das körperliche Wohl vorherrschend ist. So lasset euch daher nimmer verleiten, der Natur vorgreifen zu wollen, indem ihr zu verändern oder aufzuhalten sucht, was seinen natürlichen Gang gehen muß. Erprobet eure Macht.... sie wird unzulänglich sein gegenüber den bestehenden Naturgesetzen.... doch wo der Körper den Weg des Verfalls geht, dort soll die Seele reifen und immer vollkommener werden, weshalb eben ersterer im selben Maße vergehen muß, wie die Seele geistig zu leben sich bestrebt. Es hat die Seele gleichsam in einem äußerlich wohlgebildeten Körper ein größeres Hindernis zu überwinden, da aller Hang zur Welt diesem innewohnt und an die Seele größere Anforderungen gestellt werden in Selbstüberwindung durch öftere Anreize der Welt. Wer seinen Körper verachtet, die Seele dagegen sorgsam bedenket mit geistiger Pflege, der hat die Erdenzeit wohl genützet, und er wird sich auch rein äußerlich wohl fühlen, da dieses ihm nicht als einzig-erstrebenswert erscheint und er sonach bedacht wird mit allem, was er zum Leben benötigt. Denn Ich bedenke Meine Kinder auf Erden, wie es ihnen dienlich ist.... Ich gebe, wo man gern entsagt, und versage, wo allzu verlangend nach irdischen Gütern getrachtet wird, weil Ich nicht will, daß der Körper allein bedacht wird, sondern die Seele zuerst aus ihrer Not gerettet werden soll....
