The path of development is a constant struggle.... Struggle in nature....
Start fighting with yourself and you will win.... These are the words of the Lord, which He sends to everyone who has the firm will to reach Him. At the heart of Mother Nature you recognize again and again the eternal fight.... everything wants to prevail. In the plant kingdom, the cover surrounding it breaks through the seed.... everything that lives on the earth and above the earth, always goes the way of development in a certain fight.... To overcome the old and to assert itself until something new has arisen.... whether in the plant or animal life.... the being will always have to do away with the old cover before it awakens into new life....
Exactly the same way also that, which is meant to ennoble humans, is to be reached always only if all weaknesses and errors are fought, before and from these fights a new, better and purified life develops, which must therefore be the actual task of the earth-life.... The earthly body.... is as it were also only the outer cover, which encloses the soul, and this again is to fight against all cloudy, all imperfect, which still holds the soul captive.... If it can release itself from this outer covering.... If it can emerge brightly and clearly from the fetters surrounding it, it will soon succeed in absorbing the divine Spirit, and it is reborn to divine life....
Therefore fight without ceasing.... because then you only discard of a shell which is hindering you to take up the full light.... you do not find peace in doing nothing, you do not find the true knowledge, the brightness of the spirit.... but your soul is cloudy, devoid of light and veiled as long as you do not work on yourself.... as long as you do not fight in the true sense of the word against everything that hinders you to be able to take up a light spirit in you....
For many, the words of faith are indeed a sign from above, they fully acknowledge the divine teachings and yet do not make any effort to follow them.... they do not unite will and action with what they have to acknowledge.... for them, the teaching is like a ripe fruit, which is good and was harvested as that, but never enjoyed.... and therefore, despite all goodness, did not serve the people as food, thus also did not fulfill the purpose that was it's destiny.... It was the fruit of a gift of God, but it was not valued, but carelessly abandoned to destruction....
Do not let the blessings of God pass you by.... Fight and take up into your hearts everything that the goodness of God offers you.... do not let the spirit be in want.... What you spiritually gain and even have to fight for, will lift you unspeakably above all earthly things. Therefore, always pay attention to how you can apply the Word of God to yourselves, do not avoid all adversity without a fight, but try to assert yourselves so that you create a soul in spiritual perfection, because constant struggle leads you to victory....

De ontwikkelingsweg is een voortdurende strijd - Strijd in de natuur
Begin met jezelf te strijden en je zult zegevieren. Dit zijn de woorden van de Heer die Hij iedereen laat toekomen die de standvastige wil heeft tot Hem te komen. Aan het hart van moeder natuur herkennen jullie steeds weer opnieuw de eeuwige strijd. Alles wil zich handhaven. In het plantenrijk doorbreekt het zaadje het omhulsel dat hem omgeeft. Alles wat op en boven de aarde leeft, gaat de ontwikkelingsweg steeds in een zekere strijd: het oude overwinnen en zich handhaven tot er iets nieuws is ontstaan. Zij het in het planten- of dierenleven, steeds zal het wezen het oude omhulsel moeten afleggen voordat het tot nieuw leven gewekt wordt.
Precies zo is ook dat wat de mensen moet veredelen, steeds alleen maar te bereiken, wanneer eerst alle zwaktes en gebreken bestreden worden en zich uit deze strijd een nieuw, beter en gezuiverd leven ontwikkelt dat bijgevolg de eigenlijke opgave van dit aardse leven moet zijn. Het aardse lichaam is als het ware ook alleen maar het uiterlijke omhulsel dat de ziel omsluit. En zij moet op haar beurt strijden tegen al het troebele, onvolmaakte dat de ziel nog gevangen houdt. Als ze zich uit deze uiterlijke omhulling kan verlossen, als ze licht en helder uit de boeien tevoorschijn kan komen, dan zal het haar spoedig lukken de goddelijke Geest in zich op te nemen en dan is ze wedergeboren tot het goddelijke leven.
Strijd daarom zonder oponthoud, want jullie werpen dan alleen maar een omhulsel van jullie af dat jullie hindert het volle licht op te nemen. In niets doen vinden jullie de vrede niet. Jullie vinden ook het ware inzicht, de helderheid van geest niet, maar jullie ziel is troebel, lichtloos en omsluierd zolang jullie niet aan jezelf werken, zolang jullie in de ware zin van het woord niet strijden tegen alles wat jullie verhindert een lichte geest in jullie op te kunnen nemen.
Voor velen zijn de woorden van het geloof weliswaar een teken van boven, ze aanvaarden de goddelijke leringen geheel en al, maar toch doen ze geen moeite om ze na te volgen. Wat ze moeten aanvaarden, verenigen ze niet met wil en daad. Voor hen is de leer als een rijpe vrucht die goed is en als zodanig geoogst werd, maar nooit werd gegeten. Om die reden diende ze ondanks al het goede niet als voedsel voor de mensen en heeft ze zo ook het nut niet verricht waarvoor ze bedoeld was. De vrucht was een gift van God, doch ze werd niet gewaardeerd, maar achteloos aan het verval prijsgegeven.
Laat de zegen van God niet aan jullie voorbijgaan. Strijd en neem alles in jullie hart op wat de goedheid van God jullie aanbiedt. Laat de geest geen gebrek lijden. Wat jullie geestelijk moeten verwerven en zelfs bevechten, zal jullie onzegbaar verheffen boven al het aardse. Sla er daarom steeds acht op hoe jullie het Woord van God voor jezelf in daden kunnen omzetten. Ga niet zonder strijd elk ongemak uit te weg, maar probeer door te zetten opdat jullie een ziel in geestelijke voltooiing voortbrengen. Want voortdurende strijd voert jullie naar de overwinning.
