Der Geist Gottes weht, wo er will.... Es sind diese Worte wieder leicht falsch zu verstehen, indem der göttliche Wille dem Wirken des Geistes im Menschen zur Voraussetzung gemacht wird und dies leicht zur Annahme führen kann, daß nicht der Mensch, sondern Gott bestimmend ist für das Empfangen der Weisheiten aus Gott. Der Wille Gottes liegt zwar allem zugrunde, was ist und was geschieht. So muß also auch der göttliche Wille die Zustimmung geben, so der Geist aus Gott sich mit dem Geistesfunken im Menschen verbindet zwecks Belehrung und Vermitteln geistiger Wahrheiten. Daher wird der Wille Gottes wohl erste Voraussetzung sein, so sich der Geist im Menschen äußert.... doch im göttlichen Willen liegt es nicht, einen Menschen ohne dessen Willen zu einer Aufgabe zu veranlassen, die nur durch geistiges Wirken zu erfüllen ist.... Geistiges Wirken kann nie und nimmer in einem Zwangszustand erzielt werden, geistiges Wirken ist allein vom Menschen abhängig, und geistiges Wirken bedingt einen außergewöhnlich hohen Reifegrad.... Es muß ihm eine Selbstveredlung vorangegangen sein, diese aber wieder ist vom Willen des Menschen angestrebt, und Gott gibt Seine Kraft und Seinen Segen dazu.... Des Geistes Wirken ist abhängig von der Einstellung des Menschen zu Gott.... Die Ihm widerstreben, die Seiner gnadenvollen Führung entgegenarbeiten durch einen dem göttlichen Willen gänzlich entgegengerichteten Willen, diese werden nie des Geistes Wirksamkeit in sich verspüren. Also muß immer das Verlangen nach Gott vorhanden sein, es muß der Mensch sich bejahend einstellen zur ewigen Gottheit, dann kann auch der Geist Gottes in ihm wirksam werden.... Und dann wieder wählet Gott die Menschen aus, die das zu tun bereit sind, was Er durch Seinen Geist ihnen kundtut.... Er wählet aus, die sich eignen als Werkzeug, denn sie sollen eines Amtes walten. Und wieder ist der Wille des Menschen ausschlaggebend, zu verbreiten, was er empfangen hat. Denn äußert sich der Geist aus Gott, so will Er durch jene Menschen zu allen Menschen reden. Es ist der Empfänger des göttlichen Wortes das Sprechorgan Dessen, Der Sein Wort dem Menschen gibt. Nicht jeder aber erfaßt seine Aufgabe und führt sie aus, indem er die köstliche Gabe des Himmels weitergibt seinen Mitmenschen. Und Gott weiß um den Willen der Menschen. Der Geist aus Gott ergießet sich wohl über einen jeden, der Ihn inniglich begehret, und er wird dessen Denken recht leiten, doch wo er offensichtlich wirket zum Heil und Segen der Menschheit.... wo die Menschen deutlich erkennen sollen, daß sich der Geist aus Gott herabsenkt auf ein williges Erdenkind, dort wählet Gott die Träger des göttlichen Geistes Selbst aus. Er läßt göttlichen Inhalt denen zufließen, die Er als Aufnahmegefäß dessen würdig erachtet und die ihren Willen Seinem Willen unterstellt haben aus eigenem Antrieb. Wohl ist es Gottes Wille, daß alle Menschen sich so gestalten, daß sie würdig sind Seiner Gabe, doch der Menschen Wille geht oft eigene Wege, und diese sind nicht tauglich als Werkzeug Gottes. Gott aber, Der die Herzen aller kennt, wird Sich dort kundtun, wo Er die Bereitwilligkeit, Ihm zu dienen, findet und also wird der Geist Gottes wehen, wo Gott es will....

The spirit of God blows where he wills....

The spirit of God blows where he wills.... These words are again easy to misunderstand, in that the divine will is made a prerequisite for the working of the spirit in man and this can easily lead to the assumption that it is not man but God who determines the reception of wisdom from God. The will of God underlies everything that is and everything that happens. Thus the divine will must also give its consent when the spirit from God unites with the spiritual spark in man for the purpose of teaching and imparting spiritual truths. Hence God's will will certainly be the first prerequisite if the spirit expresses itself in the human being.... but it is not within divine will to cause a person to carry out a task without his will which can only be fulfilled through spiritual activity.... Spiritual activity can never ever be achieved in a state of compulsion, spiritual activity is solely dependent on the human being and spiritual activity requires an exceptionally high degree of maturity.... It must have been preceded by self-refinement, but this in turn is striven for by the human being's will and God gives His strength and blessing for it.... The working of the spirit depends on the person's attitude towards God.... Those who resist Him, who work against His merciful guidance through a will that is completely opposed to the divine will, will never feel the working of the spirit within themselves. Thus the desire for God must always be present, the human being must affirmatively attune himself to the eternal deity, then the spirit of God can also become effective in him.... And then again God chooses the people who are willing to do what He reveals to them through His spirit.... He chooses those who are suitable as instruments, for they are to fulfil an office. And again the will of man is decisive to spread what he has received. For if the spirit expresses itself from God, then He wants to speak to all people through those people. The recipient of the divine word is the organ of speech of the one Who gives His word to man. However, not everyone realizes his task and carries it out by passing on the precious gift from heaven to his fellow human beings. And God knows the will of man. The spirit from God certainly pours out over everyone who desires Him sincerely and it will guide his thinking correctly, yet where it obviously works for the salvation and blessing of humanity.... where people should clearly recognize that the spirit from God descends upon a willing earthly child, there God chooses the bearers of the divine spirit Himself. He allows divine content to flow to those whom He deems worthy of receiving it and who have submitted their will to His will of their own accord. It is certainly God's will that all people should shape themselves in such a way that they are worthy of His gift, yet people's will often goes its own way and these are not suitable as God's instrument. But God, Who knows the hearts of all, will make Himself known where He finds the willingness to serve Him and thus the spirit of God will blow where God wants it....
