Gefahren der Welt.... Scheinglanz....

An der Kraft, die euch aus dem Wort Gottes zuströmt, müsset ihr erstarken, und so teilet dir der Herr mit, daß niemand sich befleißigt, ein Gott-gefälliges Leben zu führen, der seine Gedanken fortgesetzt dem Weltlichen zuwendet, denn nimmermehr kann die Seele ihren Schöpfer finden, wo weitaus mehr Interesse dem zeitlichen Leben gilt. In solcher geistigen Armut verbirgt sich wahrlich nicht der Funke der Gotterkenntnis. Es suchet der Mensch, der Erde abzugewinnen, was nur erdenklich möglich ist, doch kein noch so leiser sehnender Gedanke wendet sich dem ewigen Schöpfer zu.... Wer nun der Erde Gefahren kennt, wird sicherlich kein gutes Ende voraussehen.... Und so verrinnet ein Tag um den anderen und bringt der menschlichen Seele keinen Aufstieg.... ein langes Leben ging dahin, urteilslos dem Göttlichen gegenüber und arm an göttlicher Gnade und Erbauung, denn wo sich das Herz nicht verlangend diese erbittet, dort muß es darben und geht so unendlicher Hilfe und Beistandes verlustig. Aber die Welt mit ihrem Scheinglanz blendet solch armes Herz und je mehr ein solcher Mensch danach verlangt, desto reichlicher wird ihm Erfüllung werden, denn die Welt zahlt ihren Tribut dem, der nur danach Verlangen trägt. So erkennen die meisten ihren Lebenszweck nicht, denn der Schleier der Unwissenheit ist dauernd vor ihren geistigen Augen, und was sich nun eine solche Seele schaffet oder nicht schaffet für die Ewigkeit, ist unsagbar traurig. Wohl drängt sich ihnen der Gedanke an Gott zuzeiten auf, doch dann ist es immer nur ein mechanisches Aufgehen in der ihnen gelehrten Religion.... Ihr Inneres weiß aber wenig davon, und eine tiefe innerliche Verbindung mit dem himmlischen Vater suchen sie schon gar nicht anzuknüpfen, denn jeglicher Geisteszwang ist ihnen unangenehm, und volles Erkennen liegt ihnen noch so fern.... So meidet eine solche Seele ängstlich die Gelegenheit, die ihr Aufklärung geben könnte, und hält lieber krampfhaft an der toten Lehre fest, als warmen Herzens dieser Lehre Leben zu geben und sich in einen Zustand zu bringen, in dem der Geist den Körper beherrscht und die ganze Fülle göttlicher Gnade ihnen den Weg nach oben so leicht machen würde. Dieser armen Seelen gedenket innig im Gebet, auf daß ihnen noch auf Erden das Licht der Erkenntnis entzündet werde und sie nicht unsagbar ringen müssen in der jenseitigen Welt....

Dangers of the world.... False luster....

You must strengthen yourselves with the power that flows to you from the Word of God, and so the Lord tells you that no-one makes an effort to lead a life pleasing to God who continues to turn his thoughts to the worldly, because the soul can never find it's Creator where far more interest is devoted to the temporal life. In such spiritual poverty the spark of the knowledge of God is certainly not hidden. Man seeks to win from the earth everything conceivably possible, but no thought, however quietly longing, turns to the eternal Creator.... Anyone knowing the dangers of the current earth certainly foresee no good end....

And so one day after the other passes by and brings no ascent to the human soul.... a long life passed by without any consideration towards the Divine - and is poor in Divine grace and edification, because where the heart does not ask for it, there it must be in need and thus loses infinite help and support. But the world with it's false luster blinds such a poor heart, and the more such a man longs for it, the more abundantly it will be fulfilled, because the world pays it's tribute to him who only longs for it.

So most do not recognize their purpose in life because the veil of ignorance is permanently before their spiritual eyes, and what now such a soul creates or does not create for eternity, is unspeakably sad. Thoughts of God indeed forces itself upon them at times, but then it is always only a mechanical merging in religion they are taught.... Their inside, however, knows little of it, and they do not try to establish a deep internal connection with the heavenly Father at all, because any spiritual compulsion is unpleasant for them, and they are still so far removed from a full recognition....

Thus such a soul anxiously avoids the opportunity that could give it enlightenment, and prefers to cling desperately to the dead teaching rather than to give life to this teaching with a warm heart and bring itself into a state in which the spirit dominates the body and the whole fullness of Divine grace would make the way upwards so easy for them. Remember these poor souls fervently in prayer, so that the light of knowledge may be kindled for them still on earth and they may not have to struggle unspeakably in the world beyond....
