"Cel care își iubește viața o va pierde...."

Voința de a trăi înseamnă o victorie sigură asupra morții.... Pe Pământ nu puteți comanda moartea trupească, dar chiar și atunci moartea trupească poate fi trecerea la viață dacă voința din ființa umană a devenit suficient de puternică pentru a dobândi viața veșnică. Această voință de a trăi este aprobată de Mine, chiar dacă am rostit cuvintele: "Cine își iubește viața o va pierde, iar cine renunță la ea o va câștiga....". Oricine se gândește doar la viața trupului său și la modul în care o poate păstra, va afla curând că el însuși este complet neputincios și va fi luat de pe Pământ fără a se putea apăra împotriva acestui lucru. Prin urmare, această voință de a trăi nu este menită să fie victorioasă asupra morții..... Viața adevărată a sufletului trebuie să fie dorită, iar voința ființei umane trebuie să-și folosească toate forțele pentru această viață, atunci nu va mai exista moarte pentru el în veșnicie, atunci el va trăi în lumină și putere și va putea fi continuu activ pentru propria fericire. Atunci el va fi învins cu adevărat moartea, iar ieșirea sufletului din corpul său este o trezire la o viață nouă, netulburată de învelișul trupesc, eliberat de orice materie și totuși în plinătatea nesperată a puterii. Oamenii de pe Pământ ar trebui să iubească această viață și să se străduiască să o posede doar o zi, apoi vor tânji după moarte, apoi vor să renunțe la viața pământească de dragul vieții adevărate din veșnicie. Dar oamenii sunt și mai atașați de viața trupească, se tem să o piardă, iubesc viața pământească și de aceea o pierd, iar soarta lor este moartea. Și, din nou, nu este vorba de moartea trupului, ci de moartea spirituală, în care se scufundă inevitabil sufletul, care iubește viața pe Pământ. Iar această moarte este mai rea decât își poate imagina ființa umană, căci s-a pierdut pe sine, a fost lipsită de viața pământească, iar sufletul său este lipsit de lumină și de putere, complet neputincios și în cel mai adânc întuneric.... Moartea spirituală este o agonie de nedescris pentru el, deoarece este conștient de sine, deci nu se stinge odată cu momentul morții, ci continuă să vegeteze într-o stare chinuitoare. Numai cei vii vor putea vreodată să satisfacă dorința de activitate, care este plăcută, deoarece necesită forță, care este inerentă numai unei ființe vii, în timp ce o ființă fără forță este moartă. Dar ceea ce se face pe Pământ cu ajutorul forței vitale care pătrunde în ființa umană poate consta într-o activitate pur lumească, care cu siguranță sporește bunurile materiale pământești, dar nu are nicio valoare pentru împărăția spirituală, sau poate consta și într-o activitate spirituală care produce comori nepieritoare și garantează astfel și viața în eternitate. Și de aceea, voința ființei umane trebuie să se îndrepte cu seriozitate spre viața veșnică, pentru ca apoi să folosească forța vieții pentru a dobândi putere spirituală.... apoi va deveni victorios asupra morții, căci atunci este sigur de viața veșnică și nu va gusta moartea pentru veșnicie....

‘Whoever loves his life shall lose it....’

The will to live means guaranteed victory over death.... Admittedly, you cannot prevent bodily death, but even physical death can be the transition into life if the human being’s will is strong enough for him to gain eternal life. This will to live has My approval, even though I said the Words ‘Whoever loves his life shall lose it, and whoever loses it will gain it....’ Anyone who only thinks about how he can preserve his physical life will very soon realise that he is completely powerless and taken from this earth without being able to oppose it. Thus it is not this kind of will to live which will enable someone to be victorious over death....

The soul’s true life has to be desired, and the human being’s will has to use all its strength to acquire it, then there will be no more death for the person for eternity, then he will live in light and strength and be able to be constantly active for his own happiness. Then he will have truly conquered death, and the soul’s separation from its body will be an awakening into new life, unburdened by the physical shell, free from all matter and yet with an inconceivable abundance of strength. This is the life people on earth should learn to love and only endeavour to gain one day, then they will long for their death, then they will want to relinquish their earthly life for the sake of true life in eternity. But people are still far too attached to their bodily life, they fear to lose it, they love earthly life and therefore will lose it and their fate will be death.

And again, not physical death is meant by this but the death of the spirit, into which the earthly life-loving soul will descend without fail. This death is worse than a human being can imagine, for he will then have lost himself, he will have lost his earthly life and his soul will be without light and strength, totally helpless and in profound darkness.... Spiritual death is an indescribable torment for the soul because it is conscious of itself, thus it is aware that it was not obliterated at the moment of death but continues to exist in an agonizing condition. The desire for pleasing activity can only ever be fulfilled by the living soul, for this requires strength which is only inherent in a living being, whereas a being without strength is dead.

However, what the human being accomplishes on earth with his inflowing energy of life need only consist of worldly activity, which will certainly increase material commodities but they are worthless in the spiritual kingdom.... Or it can consist of spiritual activity, which will produce everlasting treasures and thus also guarantee a life in eternity. And for this reason, the human being’s will should seriously strive towards eternal life, so that he then utilises his energy of life for the acquisition of spiritual strength.... then he will be victorious over death, then eternal life will be certain for him and he will not taste death for eternity....
