Voința slăbită a omului.... Semnificația lucrării de răscumpărare....

Ființa umană este incapabilă de a face ceva fără harul lui Dumnezeu.... adică voința sa este atât de slăbită și puterea sa de rezistență atât de scăzută încât nu s-ar maturiza spiritual pe Pământ fără sprijinul divin, deoarece adversarul lui Dumnezeu îl asuprește în mod constant, influențându-i voința și făcându-l astfel incapabil să lupte împotriva lui. Influența adversarului lui Dumnezeu este atât de mare asupra ființei umane pentru că el îi prezintă plăcerile lumii, iar ființa umană, aflată în stare de liber arbitru, poate acum să decidă pentru ea însăși. De nenumărate ori înainte, voința sa era legată și nu avea acces la nimic altceva decât la ceea ce corespundea naturii sale. Liberul arbitru permite acum gândirii, sentimentelor și dorințelor sale să se manifeste, dorințele sale cresc și sunt acum îndreptate spre lucruri care încă adăpostesc substanțe spirituale complet imature, astfel că ele fac parte din adversarul lui Dumnezeu, pe care acesta le folosește acum ca momeală pentru a recâștiga substanțele spirituale care s-au apropiat deja din nou de Dumnezeu. Prin aceste momeli, el slăbește voința ființei umane în așa fel încât aceasta nu ar fi capabilă să își îndeplinească sarcina pământească actuală dacă Dumnezeu nu l-ar ajuta cu harul Său.... cu ajutorul Lui.... Influența adversarului lui Dumnezeu asupra oamenilor era enormă înainte de venirea lui Iisus Hristos pe Pământ, iar voința oamenilor era atât de slăbită încât aproape nicio ființă umană nu era capabilă să se desprindă de materie, de spiritualul imatur care încearcă să înlănțuie de sine spiritualul deja mai matur. Adversarul lui Dumnezeu stăpânea lumea, adică voința omului s-a subordonat complet voinței lui și astfel avea o mare putere. Acum, voința unei ființe umane îi opune rezistență.... Iisus Hristos a recunoscut slăbiciunea oamenilor și consecințele îngrozitoare ale acesteia și, în dragostea Sa copleșitor de mare pentru oameni, a căutat să-i ajute.... El S-a oferit pe Sine ca jertfă pentru ei, pentru a cumpăra o voință puternică, o voință care să reziste activității adversarului.... Acesta a fost un dar care a fost astfel dobândit nemeritat pentru oameni și, din nou, depindea de voința lor dacă doreau să accepte sau nu acest dar. Adversarul lui Dumnezeu folosește toate mijloacele pentru a-i împiedica pe oameni să se folosească de harul actului de mântuire, încercând să-l slăbească sau să-l nege cu totul..... Și iarăși, iubirea și harul lui Dumnezeu este, de asemenea, extrem de eficient...., prin faptul că oamenilor li se oferă adevărul de sus, că sunt luminați în legătură cu totul și, de asemenea, necesitatea de a-L recunoaște pe Hristos ca Răscumpărător al lumii le este făcută atât de ușor de înțeles încât le este ușor să creadă în El și astfel să se plaseze în binecuvântarea actului de mântuire.... Voința oamenilor este slabă, dar Dumnezeu se străduiește în permanență să le dea putere și har, pentru că fără acestea nu poate rezista provocărilor adversarului, pentru că are nevoie în permanență de ajutorul lui Dumnezeu pentru a putea stăpâni sarcina sa pământească, pentru a se putea elibera de influența celui care vrea să-i provoace căderea. În ciuda slăbiciunii sale, ființa umană nu este neputincioasă, căci toate binecuvântările actului de mântuire îi sunt la îndemână, adică dacă crede în Iisus Hristos ca Răscumpărător al lumii, în răstignirea Sa din dragoste pentru umanitate, care se afla sub vraja adversarului.... Dacă îl cheamă în ajutor pe Iisus Hristos, va primi și puterea de a rezista; în toate adversitățile și pericolele care îi amenință sufletul, va fi sprijinit și ținut de Cel în Care crede sufletul său; va găsi mereu ajutor de la El, harul divin va curge mereu spre el, se va putea despărți de bunurile pământești și va putea să se străduiască spre Dumnezeu fără piedici; spiritul său va recunoaște adevărul cu lumină și strălucire, dragostea sa va crește și astfel i se va furniza mereu o nouă putere.... harurile operei de răscumpărare vor deveni copleșitor de eficiente în el și îl vor ajuta spre propria răscumpărare....

Weakened will of man.... Meaning of the work of redemption....

The human being can do nothing without God's grace.... i.e., his will is so weakened and his strength of resistance so low that he would not mature spiritually on earth without divine help because he is constantly harassed by God's adversary, who influences his will and thus renders him incapable of fighting against him. The influence of God's adversary is so great on the human being because he holds the pleasures of the world before his eyes and the human being can now determine himself in a state of free will. Endless times before, his will was bound and nothing was accessible to him except that which corresponded to his nature. Free will now lets his thinking, feeling and wanting come into its own, his desires grow and are now directed towards things which still harbour completely immature spirituality, thus they are part of the adversary of God, which he now uses as a lure in order to also win back the spiritual, which had already drawn closer to God again. Through these lures he now weakens the human being's will in such a way that he would not be able to fulfil his actual earthly task if God would not assist him with His grace.... with His help.... The influence of God's adversary on people was enormous before Jesus Christ came to earth, and people's will was so weakened that almost no human being was able to detach himself from matter, from the immature spiritual substance which tries to chain the already more mature spiritual substance to itself. The opponent of God ruled the world, i.e., the will of man subordinated itself completely to his will, and therefore he had great power. The will of a human being now put up resistance to him.... Jesus Christ recognized people's weakness and its dreadful consequences, and in His immense love for people He tried to help them.... He offered Himself as a sacrifice for them in order to buy them a strong will, a will which was able to resist the adversary's activity.... This was a gift which was therefore acquired for people undeservedly, and again it depended on their will as to whether they wanted to accept the gift or not. God's adversary uses all means to prevent people from availing themselves of the grace of the work of redemption by trying to weaken or completely deny it.... And again it is God's love and grace which is likewise extremely effective.... that people are offered the truth from above, that they are enlightened about everything and also the necessity of acknowledging Christ as saviour of the world is made so understandable to them that it is easy for them to believe in Him and thus to place themselves into the blessing of the act of salvation.... People's will is weak, but God constantly endeavours to impart strength and grace to them because without it they cannot withstand the adversary's temptations, because they constantly need God's help in order to be able to master their earthly task, in order to be able to free themselves from the influence of the one who wants to bring about their downfall. Despite his weakness the human being is not helpless, for all the blessings of the act of salvation are at his disposal, i.e., if he believes in Jesus Christ as saviour of the world, in His death on the cross out of love for humanity, which was under the adversary's spell.... if he calls upon Jesus Christ for His help he will also receive the strength to resist; he will be supported and held by Him, in Whom his soul believes, in all adversities and dangers threatening his soul; he will constantly find help from Him, divine grace will constantly flow to him, he will be able to separate himself from earthly possessions and strive towards God without obstacles; his spirit will recognize the truth brightly and clearly, his love will grow and thereby he will constantly receive new strength.... the graces of the work of redemption will have an overpowering effect on him and help him towards his own redemption....
