Een roep tot de lichtwezens om hulp in geestelijke nood

Zielen die zich in geestelijke nood bevinden zijn door goede en slechte krachten omgeven. En ze hoeven daarom in hun geestelijke nood niet te wanhopen, zoals ze echter ook niet onverschillig mogen zijn, opdat de slechte krachten niet de macht over hen krijgen. Het worstelen van de geestelijke krachten om de zielen houdt niet op en zodra de mens zelf door wilszwakte de slechte krachten bevestigt, maar de ziel overeenkomstig haar wezen op het licht aanstuurt, raakt ze nu in nood, die echter tegelijkertijd een waarschuwing en een aanmaning van de goede krachten is. Want deze nood moet haar ertoe brengen zich te wenden tot de goede krachten om hulp, wat ze nooit zou doen als de ziel de nood bespaard zou blijven. Want de lichtwezens kunnen alleen dan de ziel bijstaan, wanneer ze worden aangeroepen. Deze goddelijke wet kan niet ongedaan worden gemaakt.

De liefde van de lichtwezens is zo groot dat ze altijd tot hulp bereid zijn en iedere ziel zouden helpen die in nood is. Maar de kracht van de lichtwezens is ook zo sterk dat ze welke duistere kracht dan ook kan overweldigen, dus onschadelijk maken. Er zou dan dus nooit een in het nauw gebracht mensenkind kunnen bestaan, als God deze wet niet zou hebben gegeven, dat de hulp van de lichtwezens afhankelijk is van de roep om hulp. Maar zo’n roep stuurt de mens alleen omhoog als hij de nood van de ziel voelbaar ondervindt. En daar de overdracht van kracht uit het geestelijke rijk op de mens nodig is opdat diens ziel rijp wordt, moet de ziel in deze nood geraken zodra ze door haar zwakke wil in gevaar is een prooi te worden van de slechte krachten.

De strijd tussen licht en duisternis die om een ziel wordt gevoerd, moet dus ook voor de mens een voelbare uitwerking hebben om hem werkzaam te laten worden, dat wil zeggen: hem aansporen om kracht te vragen, daar anders de ziel nooit vooruit zou gaan in haar ontwikkeling. Zielennood is dus onvermijdelijk zolang de mens nog niet door buitengewoon werkzaam te zijn in liefde de kracht van God in ontvangst neemt.

Een mens die onophoudelijk werkzaam is in liefde zal maar zelden in geestelijke nood komen, omdat de lichtwezens voortdurend op hem kunnen inwerken en niet meer gebonden zijn aan de goddelijke wet, want de in liefde werkzame mens heeft elke barrière doorbroken, zodat de kracht uit God voortdurend aan hem kan worden overgebracht. En daarom moet een mens die zich in geestelijke nood bevindt, zijn best doen liefde te geven. Hij doet daardoor de invloed van de slechte wezens teniet en samen met het gebed om kracht en bijstand zal hij zeer snel de zielennood opheffen, want de krachten van het licht zijn nu weer overwinnaar geworden en ze kunnen de ziel nu bedenken in overvloed. Werken van liefde en gebed heffen elke zwakheid op. De mens wordt overwinnaar van de krachten die hem willen schaden. Hij streeft uit vrije wil het licht tegemoet en ontvlucht de duisternis. Zijn wil is gestaald door de verzoeking, zodra hij haar heeft weerstaan.

En elke overwinning is een stap omhoog. De mens die serieus op God aanstuurt zal uit elke verzoeking zegevierend tevoorschijn komen. Maar ook hij zal door de duistere krachten in het nauw worden gedreven, zodra hij momenten van wilszwakte in zich boven laat komen. Maar steeds kan hij zeker zijn van de bijstand van de lichtwezens die zijn gebed om kracht vernemen en altijd bereid zijn hem te helpen.

Supplication to the beings of light in spiritual need....

Souls in spiritual distress are surrounded by good and bad forces and therefore need not despair in their soul's distress, but neither should they be indifferent lest the bad forces gain control over them. The struggle of the spiritual forces for the soul does not diminish, and as soon as the human being himself favours the bad forces due to weakness of will, but the soul strives towards the light according to its nature, it now gets into hardship which, however, is a warning and admonition of the good forces at the same time. For this adversity should cause it to turn to the good forces for help, which it would never do if the soul were spared the adversity. For the beings of light can only assist the soul when they are called upon.... This divine law cannot be overturned. The light beings' love is so great that they are always willing to help and would help any soul in need. But the strength of the beings of light is also so strong that it can overpower every dark power, thus render it harmless, thus there could never be a distressed earthly child if God had not given this law that the help of the beings of light depends on the human being's appeal. But the human being only sends such a plea upwards if he feels the soul's distress perceptibly. And since the transmission of strength from the spiritual kingdom to the human being is necessary for his soul to mature, the soul has to get into this distress as soon as it is in danger of falling prey to evil forces due to its weakness of will. Hence the battle between light and darkness, which is waged for his soul, must also have a noticeable effect on the human being in order to make him take action, i.e. to stimulate him to appeal for strength, otherwise the soul would never be able to progress in its development. Distress of the soul is therefore inevitable as long as the human being does not receive God's strength through extraordinary loving activity. A person who is constantly active in love will only rarely experience spiritual hardship because the beings of light can constantly influence him and are no longer bound by divine law, for the loving person has broken down every barrier so that the strength from God can constantly be conveyed to him. And that is why a person in spiritual adversity should make an effort to give love, thereby he nullifies the influence of the evil beings, and in combination with prayer for strength and help he will very soon resolve the soul's adversity, for the forces of light have now become victors again and can now give abundantly to the soul. Loving activity and prayer remedy every weakness.... the human being becomes the conqueror of the forces which want to harm him, he strives of his own free will towards the light and flees from darkness.... his will has been strengthened by temptation as soon as he has resisted it. And every victory is a step upwards; the sincerely striving human being will emerge victorious from every temptation, yet he, too, will be harassed by dark forces as soon as he allows moments of weakness of will to arise in him. Yet he can always be certain of the support of the beings of light who hear his plea for strength and are always ready to help him....
