Scheppingswerk – Vaste materie – Atmosfeer – Planten

In het zichtbare scheppingswerk van God gaat alle kracht in zekere zin in de materie over en werkt daar tot opwekking van al dat, wat door de Schepper voor de opwaartse ontwikkeling bestemd is. Zodoende heeft de schepping juist enkel dit doel, dat de zich in haar bergende wezens zich vervolmaken. Hoe veelzijdiger de schepping nu door Gods liefde en almacht gevormd werd, des te groter is ook het aantal van de in haar belichaamde wezens. En nu zal ook de verklaring voor de talloze variaties in het goddelijke scheppingswonder te vinden zijn.

Het zal nu begrijpelijk zijn, dat in zulke veelsoortige scheppingen in de goddelijke schepping het wezen ook elke mogelijkheid heeft om zich in alle richtingen te ontwikkelen, zodat hem een zeker vermogen om zich aan te passen eigen moet zijn, op grond waarvan hij elke opdracht in elke belichaming kan vervullen. Zo zijn de geschapen constructies er door de goddelijke Schepper in zekere zin voor bestemd om allerlei eisen te stellen aan het wezen, dat naar opwaartse ontwikkeling streeft. In elk wezen zit de drang om de huidige vorm spoedig te verlaten en het wezen vervult daarom met toegenomen drang om actief te zijn elke hem opgelegde taak.

Het verblijf in elke vorm is, wat de tijd betreft, begrensd, echter wel van heel verschillende tijdsduur. De wezens worden vaak ongelooflijk lange tijd in de vaste materie verbannen en ze moeten tot hun bevrijding vaak de meest kwellende toestand verdragen, zodat ze met vurig verlangen wachten op hun bevrijding en zich dan meestal net zo lang in ongebonden toestand in de atmosfeer ophouden tot in hen de drang sterker wordt om de weg door de planten- en dierenwereld te gaan, die hen een vrij worden van alle materie garandeert.

Het verlangen om in de nabijheid van de aarde te komen, uit zich door allerlei soorten neerslag en zo komem de zich tot nog toe in de atmosfeer ophoudende wezens in directe verbinding met de aardbodem en ze dringen door deze bodem grassen, planten en bloemen binnen en nu begint dus de gang door de plantenwereld, die weer eindeloze tijden duurt. Echter wordt door talloze hervormingen het verblijf in elke vorm verkort en het wezen, dat zich daardoor in belangrijke mate vergroot heeft en in een steeds grotere vorm overgaat, gaat bij een zekere rijpheid in het dierenleven dezelfde opwaartse ontwikkeling doormaken.

Dit is van zo’n zwaarwegend belang en de kennis daarvan laat de goddelijke wijsheid dan vooral goed herkennen. De mens is nu pas in staat, nu hij zijn voorleven aan deze beschouwing onderwerpt, de verantwoordelijkheid te beseffen, die hij in het aardse leven draagt. Zodat deze eindeloos lange weg van zijn eerdere vormgeving niet volledig nutteloos gegaan werd, wat echter wel het geval zou zijn, als de mens niet de laatste opdracht, waar hij nu in het aardse leven voor geplaats is, eveneens vervult.

Te weten, dat de gehele voorgaande tijd voor niets door de geestelijke wezens, die zich dan tot één geheel, zijn ziel, verenigd hebben, doorleefd zou zijn, zou de mens met een verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel moeten vervullen, zodat hij zijn hele wil en alle kracht aanwendt om zijn opdracht op aarde eveneens geheel en al te vervullen en zijn ziel de definitieve bevrijding uit de materie te brengen.

Work of creation.... solid matter.... atmosphere.... plants....

In God's visible work of creation all strength passes into matter, as it were, and works there to enliven everything that is destined by the creator for higher development. Creation therefore only has this purpose, that the beings sheltering in it perfect themselves. The more versatile creation has been shaped by God's love and omnipotence, the greater the number of embodied beings in it, and the explanation for the countless variations of divine miracles of creation will now also be found.... It will now be understandable that in such diverse structures of divine creation the being also has every possibility to develop in all directions, that a certain adaptability must be inherent in it by virtue of which it can fulfil every task in every embodiment. Thus the forms of creation are, as it were, destined by the divine creator to make the most diverse demands on the beings striving towards higher development. Every being has the urge to leave its present form as soon as possible and therefore pursues each task with an increased drive for activity. The stay in every form is limited in time but of very different duration. In solid matter the beings are often banished for an incredibly long time and often have to endure the most agonizing state until their liberation, so that they expect their liberation with longing and then mostly stay in the atmosphere in an unbound state until the urge becomes stronger in them to go the way through the plant and animal world, which guarantees them a becoming free of all matter. The desire to come close to the earth expresses itself through all kinds of weather precipitation, and (it = d. Hg.) thus the beings which have so far resided in the atmosphere enter into direct contact with the earth and through it penetrate grasses, plants and flowers, and thus the course through the plant world begins, which again lasts endless times but shortens the stay in every form through innumerable transformations and thus the being, which has thereby also increased considerably within itself, passes into ever greater form in order to undergo the same process of higher development after a certain maturity in animal life. This is of such grave importance, and it is only the knowledge of it that allows the divine wisdom to be properly recognized.... only when the human being subjects his previous life to this contemplation is he able to assess the responsibility he bears in earthly life, that this infinitely long path of his previous development has not been travelled completely uselessly, which would nevertheless be the case if the human being did not also fulfil the last task which is now set for him in earthly life. To know that the whole time before would have been lived through in vain by the spiritual entities which then united to form a whole, his soul.... should fill the human being with a sense of responsibility that he will muster all his will and all his strength to likewise completely solve his task on earth and to bring his soul final liberation from matter....
