알기 위해 믿어야 한다.... 계속하여 산다....

이 땅의 위험은 매우 크다. 이 땅과 직접 접촉하여 사는 혼들의 위험은 무한하고 다양하다. 투쟁 없이 성장할 수 있는 기회는 아주 적다. 단지 인간의 심장 안에서 사랑이 특별하게 역사하면, 그런 혼은 짧은 시간 내에 성숙한 상태에 도달한다. 그러나 사람들은 일반적으로 사랑의 사람이 되지 못했다. 그러므로 혼이 이 땅의 모든 위험을 극복하고 이 땅의 무거움을 벗어날 때까지 혼은 아주 힘든 상태에 머문다. 그러나 혼이 단지 하나님의 뜻대로 행하려는 노력한다면, 혼의 위험은 줄어들 것이다. 왜냐하면 의식적으로 신성을 찾는 일이 혼을 지원하기 위한 첫 걸음이기 때문이다.

그러나 현재 이 땅에 큰 위험이 있다. 왜냐하면 삶을 향한 집착이 우세하기 때문이다. 그러나 이런 집착이 항상 단지 세상의 삶에게 향하고, 저 세상을 위한 삶에게 향하지 않는다. 사람들은 저 세상을 위해 필연적으로 정욕에 빠지지 않고 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 삶을 살아야 하는 것에 대해 생각하지 않는다. 그들은 단지 이 땅의 삶 만을 알고 있다. 그러나 죽음 후에 계속되는 삶을 그들의 개념으로는 전혀 상상할 수 없다. 그러므로 그들은 그들의 삶에서 죽음 후에 계속되는 삶을 고려하지 않는다. 인류의 가장 많은 대부분의 사람들은 마치 그들에게 정산하는 때가 오지 않을 것처럼 살고, 매일 단지 세상의 걱정과 계획에만 전념한다. 그들은 끊임없이 자신의 재물을 늘리고, 자신이 존경을 받고 명예를 얻고 세상의 기쁨과 즐거움을 맛보기 위해 끊임없이 노력하지만, 더 높은 존재의 관점에서 사람들에게 경고해주고 그들을 하나님을 믿도록 인도하기 원하는 이웃사람의 말을 거의 듣지 않는다.

그들이 어렸을 때 배운 내용이 실제 아직 심장 속에 남아있을 수 있지만, 그러나 배운 내용이 진리임을 확신하는 사람은 극소수이고, 그들에게 제공된 가르침을 비웃거나 관심을 기울이지 않고, 중요성을 부여하지 않는 경향이 훨씬 더 많다. 그러므로 인류가 영으로부터 멀어지는 일이 점점 더 많이 일어날 것이다. 단지 소수의 사람들이 영원한 신성과 접촉할 것이고, 대부분은 기독교의 모든 가르침을 물리치고, 순전히 세속적인 가르침으로 대체할 것이고, 사람들이 스스로 싸우지 않으면, 모든 믿음을 잃게 될 것이다. 사람들은 이 땅에서 살아가는 데 필요한 모든 것에 대해 서로를 가르치지만, 그들에게 가장 중요한 것으로 생각해야 하는, 지식의 기초가 되는 참된 깊은 믿음을 돌보는 일을 무관심하게 지나치고, 이로 인해 자신들이 가장 해를 입는다. 왜냐하면 그들이 믿음에서 멀어 질수록 진리를 헤아릴 수 없기 때문이다. 모든 세상적인 것을 추구하는 노력은 그렇게 중요하지 않다. 왜냐하면 그런 일은 혼의 운명을 가장 적게라도 개선시키지 못하고, 혼을 더 깊은 어두움 속에 에워싸기 때문이다. 단지 믿음이 이 땅의 사람들에게 빛을 가져다줄 수 있다. 단지 믿음으로 영접하는 일이 이 땅에서 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 삶을 살기 위한 조건을 충족시킨다.

너희가 믿지 않는 동안에는 너희는 믿음으로 영접하는 일이 이 땅에서 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 삶을 살기 위한 조건을 충족시킨다는 것을 아직 알지 못한다. 너희가 이 땅의 존재하는 진정한 이유를 모른다면, 너희는 그런 삶이 얼마나 공허하고 헛된 삶인지 스스로 깨닫게 될 것이다. 먼저 죽음 이 후의 삶을 위해, 저 세상의 영원한 생명을 위해 이 땅의 삶에서 열심히 일해야 한다는 지식이 너희에게 필요하다. 그러면 너희는 너희의 사명을 깨닫고, 또한 이 사명을 남김 없이 수행하려고 노력하게 될 것이다. 삶이 너희에게 고난과 걱정과 고통을 주든지 간에, 너희는 너희가 계속 존재한다는 믿음으로 불평 없이 모든 것을 기꺼이 받아드릴 것이다. 너희가 이 땅의 고난을 하나님의 뜻대로 견디고, 이를 통해 너희가 하늘나라에 들어 가지 못하게 막았을 모든 것을 정화시킨다면, 언젠가 저 세상에서 기쁜 삶이 너희를 기다릴 것이고, 너희 육체의 짐을 마찬가지로 벗게 될 것이다. 너희가 주님 근처에 거할 수 있게 되면, 너희의 죽음 이후 계속되는 삶이 너희의 모든 고난을 잊게 할 것이다.

그러므로 다가오는 때에 주의를 기울이라. 이 땅의 위험은 크다. 이 위험을 깨닫는 사람은 이 위험을 줄이기 위해 모든 것을 드려야 하고, 이웃사람들에게 도움이 필요하다면, 그들에게 정신적으로나 육체적으로 도움을 줘야 한다.

Faith is a prerequisite for knowledge.... living on....

The need on earth is great, and standing in direct contact with the earth, the dangers for the soul are endless and manifold.... There are so few possibilities that ensure ascent without struggle. Only when love is exceptionally active in the human heart are such souls in a state of maturity in a short time. In general, however, people are not urged enough by love, and so the soul has an extremely difficult time until it has overcome all earthly dangers and is released from the heaviness of earth. But as soon as the endeavour to only act according to God's will sets in, the dangers for the soul will also be less, for the conscious search for the deity is the first step towards the soul's advancement. At present, however, there is great hardship on earth, for the inclination to live is predominantly.... and this inclination only ever extends to earthly life but not to life in the beyond, which should of necessity be lived in a correspondingly listless and God-pleasing manner for the beyond.... But people don't think about that.... they only know life on earth.... but a continuation of life after death is completely unthinkable to them, and therefore they do not prepare their lives for such a life. And so the majority of humanity lives as if the hour of reckoning would never come for them, every day is devoted solely to earthly worries and plans.... They strive incessantly to increase their possessions, to bring themselves prestige and honour and to savour the joys and pleasures of the world, and hardly listen to their fellow human beings who, with a view to a higher being, would like to give them exhortations and lead them to faith in God. What they were taught as children has probably remained in their minds, but very few are convinced of the truth of what they were taught and are much more inclined to ridicule the teaching they were given or not give it any attention or importance. And thus a spiritual alienation will increasingly occur amongst humanity; there will only be a few who enter into contact with the eternal deity, but most will displace all christian teachings with purely worldly ones, and all faith will be destroyed if people themselves do not fight for it. People will instruct each other in everything necessary for earthly existence, yet what should be most important to them, to cultivate true profound faith as the foundation of knowledge, they will overlook as indifferent and thereby harm themselves the most, for the more they distance themselves from faith the more incapable they become of fathoming the truth. All earthly endeavours are then so unimportant because they do not improve the soul's lot in the slightest but rather shroud it ever deeper in darkness.... Only faith is able to bring light to people on earth, and only the acceptance of faith fulfils the conditions for a God-pleasing life on earth. You are not yet aware of the latter as long as you turn away from faith, and you will realize for yourselves how empty and stale life as such is if you do not know the true reason for your earthly existence.... Only the knowledge of this is necessary in order to make you work hard in earthly life for life after death, for eternal life in the beyond.... then you will know your task, then you will also try to fulfil it completely. And even if life then offers you hardship, worry and suffering, you will gladly take it all upon yourselves in the belief that you will continue to exist and without complaining, for one day a life of joy in the beyond beckons to you if you have devotedly borne the suffering on earth in God's will and have been purified by it from everything that would have prevented you from entering the heavenly paradise. In the same way, your bodily burden will also be taken from you, and your survival after death will make you forget all hardship if you are allowed to dwell in the neighbourhood of the lord. Therefore, pay attention to the coming time. The hardship on earth is great and anyone who recognizes it should make every effort to alleviate it and offer his fellow human beings spiritual and physical help if they are in need of it....
