L’inutilità del sapere terreno nell’aldilà

Non valutate il sapere terreno troppo alto, perché non ve ne fate nulla nell’Eternità. Vi può servire bensì per la durata della vostra vita terrena, ma se non lo impiegate per procurarvi un sapere spirituale, mentre mediante il sapere terreno non ottenete la conoscenza che voi siete creature di Dio e non vi sforzate allora di giungere alla piena Verità di Dio, non possedete nessun vantaggio quando entrate nel Regno spirituale. Ma anche quel sapere spirituale che è stato preso solo puramente in modo intellettuale, è da valutare come sapere terreno, se tocca bensì dei problemi spirituali, ma che è stato conquistato come ogni altro sapere terreno, mediante uno studio allo scopo di una attività professionale. Ed anche se imparate a memoria il Libro dei padri, anche se vi sforzate di interpretare la Parola divina di nuovo sulla base d’espressioni profetiche, se possedete intellettualmente frase per frase, tutto questo non può essere valutato di più che ogni altro sapere, che non ha per contenuto dei problemi spirituali. Perché alla fine all’anima rimane soltanto la sua parte, ciò che le ha procurato in sapienza l’agire d’amore disinteressato; all’anima rimane soltanto ciò che le ha potuto trasmettere lo spirito. E questo non richiede nessuno studio mondano, nessun pensare acuto intellettuale e nessuna straordinaria facoltà di ricordare, perché glielo dà lo spirito quando ne ha bisogno. E a che cosa vi serve una ricchezza, la quale non potete impiegare nell’aldilà, è del sapere morto, non vi fornisce nessuna Luce e sulla Terra non potete nemmeno dimostrare la Verità di questo sapere, finché il vostro spirito non vi fornisce la giusta conoscenza e la forza di giudicare. Ma voi stessi dovete chiedere a questo spirito, dovete dargli la possibilità di esprimersi a voi. Soltanto allora si farà luce in voi ed emanerete anche della Luce chiaramente splendente entrando nel Regno spirituale. Benedetto colui che si fa istruire dallo spirito e cerca contemporaneamente di aumentare il suo sapere terreno. A lui arriva molta conoscenza, gli viene anche dischiuso un sapere terreno appena il suo tendere è prima rivolto alla conquista di beni spirituali. E questo impiegherà ogni sapere veramente in modo benedicente, quando la sua vita terrena è conclusa. Egli potrà distribuire nel Regno spirituale tutto ciò che possiede, perché egli agirà anche di nuovo per guidare ed insegnare su quegli uomini che, come lui, ricercano e tendono al desiderio di Dio e della Verità.

Worthlessness of earthly knowledge in the beyond....

Don't value your earthly knowledge too highly for it is of no use to you in eternity. It can certainly be useful to you for the duration of your earthly life, but if you don't use it to acquire spiritual knowledge by going through earthly knowledge towards the realisation that you are God's living creations, and then strive to attain the complete truth of God, it will not be of any benefit to you when you enter into the spiritual kingdom. Yet even spiritual knowledge which was gained by purely intellectual means has to be considered earthly knowledge.... which indeed refers to spiritual problems but which was acquired like all other earthly knowledge through study for the purpose of a professional occupation....

Even if you memorise the Book of the Fathers, even if you try to interpret the divine Word again on the strength of prophetic sayings, even if you intellectually master every sentence, it is of no greater value than any other knowledge of a non-spiritual content. For in the end the soul will only retain as its share the wisdom it had gained through unselfish loving actions.... The soul will only keep what the spirit within was able to impart to it. And this doesn't require worldly studies, sharp intellectual thoughts or a remarkable memory.... For the spirit will provide it when it is needed.... And of what benefit is wealth which you cannot use over there.... it is lifeless knowledge, it gives you no light, and you cannot even demonstrate the truth of this knowledge as long as your spirit does not impart to you the correct insight and ability to discern....

However, you have to approach your inner spirit yourselves; you have to enable it to express itself.... Only then will you become enlightened and you will also spread brightly radiating light on entry into the spiritual kingdom. But blessed is he who allows himself to be taught by the spirit and at the same time tries to broaden his earthly knowledge.... Many thoughts will come to him, he will also receive earthly knowledge as long as he first strives to acquire spiritual possessions.... And he will make truly beneficial use of all knowledge when his earthly life has come to an end.... He will be able to share everything he owns in the spiritual kingdom, for once again he will be able to prominently and instructively influence people who, like himself, are searching and striving in their desire for God and the truth....
