L’appiattimento spirituale - Violenza terrena

Il segno più infallibile per un appiattimento spirituale è la tendenza ed il desiderio per i beni di questo mondo. Quando l’umanità conosce solo questo tendere, la Sapienza spirituale non potrà quasi più essere diffusa fra lei, perché non ha minimamente a che fare con successi terreni e di conseguenza non è nemmeno desiderabile. Ma non può mai essere accettato che il tendere spirituale possa essere valutato in modo terreno. Solo dove ogni desiderio per la materia viene soppresso, il tendere spirituale può essere coronato da successo, cioè anche l’agire dello spirito nell’uomo diventa visibile. Ma se l’umanità ha la mente solamente ad aumentare il benessere terreno, si vieta da sé stessa l’agire dello spirito nell’uomo, e la conseguenza di ciò è l’oscurità spirituale, sovente in una tale dimensione, che l’agire dello spirito invece di essere considerato come manifestazione della Forza divina, come macchinazione umana e perciò ne viene dato poca attenzione o fede. Ci sono solo pochissimi figli coraggiosi di Dio, che rappresentano comunque ciò che di cui si rendono conto attraverso l’esperienza spirituale, questi pochi parleranno come con lingue d’angelo, benché vengano chiamati a dare giustificazione per via della loro opinione dal potere terreno. Non c’è nemmeno da aspettarsi altro in un tempo, in cui gli uomini sono quasi vicini al naufragio. E così i credenti da soli non potranno intraprendere nulla nei loro confronti e si stanno già quasi scoraggiando, finché inaspettatamente il Signore Stesso Si manifesta, e questo in maniera evidente. L’appiattimento spirituale degli uomini è riconoscibile nell’ignoranza, che risulta da ogni parola, se prendono parte in una conversazione, che passa nello spirituale. A loro manca qualsiasi concetto, e non rimangono nemmeno a lungo con ciò che hanno udito, ma considerano il tempo impiegato per questo solo come uno spreco di tempo. Di conseguenza non avranno nemmeno mai da registrare un successo, dato che a loro manca ogni sapere, ma nella loro ostinazione non accettano nemmeno alcun insegnamento. Ci sono solo poche eccezioni, che riconoscono subito la Verità, quando viene loro offerta. Ed in questi uomini il desiderio per il bene terreno non dominerà moltissimo il loro pensare, benché lo considerano ancora come la cosa più importante della vita terrena. Questi sono degli uomini ai quali non basta più il possesso terreno, per quanto grande possa essere, e perciò si occupano per propria spinta con pensieri, che vanno nel Regno dell’aldilà. Se ora a loro viene sottoposta la Verità spirituale, allora le Forze buone dell’aldilà aiutano attraverso l’influenza mentale e guidano quindi l’uomo incontro alla conoscenza. La Parola di Dio dev’essere annunciata ovunque, anche se la resistenza è grandissima ed apparentemente non si ottiene nessun progresso. Dove viene offerta la Parola divina, con buona volontà l’uomo la può anche riconoscere come tale, perché parla a lui stesso. Là il basso stato spirituale non è nemmeno così dubbioso cioè non del tutto senza speranza, perché questi uomini sono volenterosi ed accessibile per un ammaestramento proveniente dall’Alto.

Spiritual flattening.... earthly violence....

The most unmistakable sign of spiritual shallowness is the inclination and desire for the goods of this world. If humanity only knows this striving, spiritual wisdom can hardly be spread among it, for it has nothing to do with earthly success and is therefore not desirable. But it can never be assumed that spiritual striving could be utilized in an earthly way. Only where all desire for matter is suppressed can spiritual endeavour be crowned with success, i.e. the working of the spirit in man can also become visible. However, if humanity is only interested in increasing earthly prosperity, the working of the spirit in the human being is forbidden of its own accord, and the consequence of this is spiritual darkness, often to such an extent that the working of the spirit is regarded as human machination instead of a divine manifestation of strength and is therefore given little attention or faith. There are only very few courageous children of God who nevertheless represent what they have become aware of through spiritual experience, but these few will speak as if with the tongues of angels, even though they will be called to account by the earthly authorities for their opinion.... Nothing else is to be expected at a time when people are almost on the brink of destruction. And so the believers alone will not be able to do anything about them and will almost become despondent until the lord Himself unexpectedly expresses Himself, and this in an obvious way. People's spiritual shallowness is recognizable by the ignorance that speaks from every word, providing they take part in a conversation that digresses into the spiritual. They lack all concepts and they do not dwell on what they have heard for long either but regard the time spent on it as a waste of time. Consequently, they will never make any progress as they lack any knowledge, but in their stubbornness they do not accept any instruction either. There are only a few exceptions who immediately recognize the truth when it is offered to them. The desire for earthly possessions will not dominate their thoughts as much, even though they still regard it as the most important aspect of earthly life. These are people for whom earthly possessions, however great they may be, are no longer enough and who therefore, of their own accord, occupy themselves with thoughts which reach into the kingdom of the beyond. If spiritual truth is then presented to them, the good forces in the beyond will help them by influencing their thoughts and thus guide the person towards realization. The word of God must be proclaimed everywhere, even if the resistance is very great and seemingly no progress can be achieved. Where the divine word is offered, people with good will can also recognize it as the word of God because it speaks to them themselves. There the spiritual low is also not so alarming, i.e. not completely hopeless, because these people are willing and accessible to an instruction coming from above....
