L’Activité de l'Esprit – la preuve par l’exemple

L'état spirituel des hommes est encore confus et leurs pensées sont très loin de la juste connaissance. C’est pourquoi il est très difficile de leur donner des éclaircissements sur la manière d’opérer de l'Esprit chez l’homme, vu qu’ils ne veulent justement reconnaître rien d’autre que ce qui leur apparaît visible et perceptible. De ce fait, ils excluent pour ainsi dire de leurs pensées les choses qui pourraient leur fournir la juste solution, et comme ils ne peuvent pas s'expliquer cette Action alors, selon leur concept, elle n'existe pas du tout. Et il est impossible de convaincre les hommes de l’Existence de l'Esprit, vu que rien d’extérieur ne l’indique, car tout le spirituel est seulement perceptible ou vérifiable spirituellement. L’homme rationaliste exige des démonstrations et veut trouver une explication à tout d’une manière purement logique. Or une justification matérielle, une preuve de l’Existence de l'esprit divin dans l’homme ne serait possible seulement que si lui-même acceptait de servir d’exemple, c'est-à-dire s’il se déclarait prêt à s'acquitter de toutes les conditions préalables pour le réveil de l'esprit divin, alors il en expérimenterait sur lui-même la crédibilité. Par contre l’homme qui veut être trop minutieux, rejette l’expérience de l’autre et reste spirituellement aveugle. Une vie intérieure de l’âme lui est étrangère, sa vie extérieure et ses pensées l'occupent totalement, et son esprit somnole dans l’enveloppe la plus profonde et il ne peut pas s'en libérer. Et presque plus rien ne peut lui faire modifier sa façon de penser. Il se moque de ceux qui s’emploient à penser spirituellement, et il considère sa façon de penser comme l’unique juste et les autres sont raillés et critiqués. Même chez ceux qui cherchent à guider les hommes vers Dieu, on trouve le même état aveugle de l'esprit, car leurs pensées sont trop terrestres, bien que leur volonté soit bonne, mais à eux il manque la profondeur de la foi, car celle-ci doit être apportée par le développement de chaque homme par lui-même et ne peut pas être transféré d'un homme à un autre d’une manière scolaire.

Work of the spirit.... put to the test....

People's spiritual state is still so confused and their thinking is far removed from true realization. And therefore it is very difficult to give them information about the working of the spirit in the human being, since they don't want to regocnize anything other than what visibly and tangibly appears to them. They completely exclude something from their thoughts, so to speak, which, however, only results in the right solution, and thus it is impossible to explain to them the working of that which, according to their concept, does not exist at all. And it is equally impossible to convince people of the existence of the spirit, since again nothing external points to it, but everything spiritual is only spiritually perceptible or noticeable. The realist demands proof and wants everything to be justified purely factually. A factual justification.... however, proof of the existence of the divine spirit in man would only be possible in such a way that a test on the example would be made.... that man would declare himself ready to fulfil all preconditions for the awakening of the divine spirit.... then he would experience the credibility of this in himself.... Instead, the person who believes to be all too profound rejects the experience of the other and remains spiritually blind. An inner life of the soul is alien to him, external life completely occupies him and his thinking, and his spirit slumbers in the deepest envelope and cannot free itself from it. And almost nothing can bring about a change in such thinking. He who cultivates spiritual thinking is ridiculed, and one is so foolish as to regard one's own wrong thinking as the only right one, and that one mocks and criticizes the world. Even where the endeavour is to lead people to God the same blind state of mind can be found, for even their thinking is too earthly, although the will is good.... yet they lack the depth of faith, for this has to be developed in each person himself and cannot be taught from person to person in a scholastic way....
