L'immortalité – l'Éternité – le suicide

Ainsi ces hommes qui nient la continuité de la vie, ne sont pas effrayés par la pensée de mettre fin eux-mêmes à leur vie terrestre, parce qu'avec cela ils croient provoquer la fin de tout, mais ils ne réfléchissent pas aux conséquences de leur action dans le cas où leur point de vue serait erroné. Car en faisant cela ils détruisent seulement la coque extérieure, et pas la vie elle-même; celle-ci doit continuer à vivre, parce qu'elle n'est pas destructible, ni sur la Terre, ni dans l'au-delà, car elle est au vrai sens du mot immortelle, donc d’une durée éternelle. Il n'est pas possible de mettre une fin à ce que le Créateur a créé tout seul, et il est impossible que tout ce qui est divin dans sa Substance, puisse finir. Et ainsi le Créateur a ordonné dans Sa Sagesse, qu’il ne soit pas posé de limites à l’être dans la réalisation de l'état de perfection, que même dans l'Éternité il puisse constamment progresser vers le Haut, et que donc il puisse donc continuellement agir et donner, comme aussi recevoir, sans jamais avoir épuisé ou bien avoir reçu une ultime chose de l'éternelle Divinité. Ce concept n’est pas concevable pour l'homme terrestre, de même qu’il est impossible de lui expliquer le concept d’immortalité définitive et même l'immortalité de l'âme ne peut pas lui être démontrée, mais elle doit être crue par lui. De même le concept de temps comme «l’Éternité» n'est pas analysable par l'esprit humain, parce qu'il est impossible qu’une tentative de compréhension de cela conduise à un résultat que l'homme pourrait appliquer à un exemple terrestre. L'homme accepte quelque chose comme Vérité seulement lorsqu’il peut en avoir une démonstration. Et ainsi ici il reste une fois de plus seulement la foi. L'homme doit croire ce qui ne peut pas lui être démontré, et donc l'immortalité de l'être durant l'Éternité doit précéder toute autre pensée.

Immortality.... Eternity.... Suicide....

Consequently, people who consciously deny life after death will not hesitate to end their earthly life themselves since they believe that by ending their earthly life they will dispose of everything, and fail to consider the consequences of their action if they are wrong. They only destroy the outer shell but not life itself and therefore they have to continue living it.... since it cannot be destroyed, neither on earth nor in the beyond.... it is, in the true sense of the word, immortal, i.e. of eternal duration. It is not possible to end it because the Creator has created the being out of Himself and everything of divine origin cannot possibly perish. For that reason the Creator, in His wisdom, has ordained that there shall be no limit for the being to reach its state of perfection.... that even in eternity it can steadily advance and thus be constantly active and give as well as receive.... without ever becoming exhausted or ever having received the ultimate from the eternal Deity. The earthly human being can barely conceive the concept of ‘eternity’, neither can immortality be completely explained to him since nothing on earth is everlasting, and since the immortality of soul cannot be proven to him he has to believe it. Likewise, human intellect cannot analyse the time concept of ‘eternity’ either. This attempt cannot possibly lead to a result as long as the human being cannot apply the same comparison to a physical medium. He only accepts something as true when he has conclusive evidence. And therefore there remains only faith again.... The human being has to believe what cannot be demonstrated to him, and thus the immortality of the being throughout eternity must precede all other reasoning....
