The broad and the narrow path....

Anyone who has devoted himself to the world will hardly find the path into the spiritual kingdom.... He takes a broad and even path which offers him many enticing images to captivate his senses, giving his body a sense of well-being and making it impossible for him to take his eyes off them.... He will behold flourishing gardens, his lust for life will be stimulated and he will not tire of absorbing all attractions, given that his disposition desires them and his desire will be satisfied by the one who wants to prevent a person's thoughts from turning to the spiritual kingdom. His soul, however, will be starving, for none of the possessions the world has to offer will satisfy the soul's hunger and thirst, which requires a different nourishment in order to mature and recover. For the soul is ailing and unhappy if it is only offered worldly things. Yet time and again messengers stand by the crossings where narrow paths are branching off wanting to entice people onto these narrow paths. But only rarely will they succeed in persuading a person to discontinue his journey on the broad street and to use the narrow path instead which leads faster and with certainty to the goal. If people listen to My messengers and accept their guidance they will truly be helped, and soon they will look upwards and courageously start to go uphill, because they behold a marvellous goal and even obstacles or exertions of any kind will not hold them back, they will follow their guide and overcome all difficulties, for My messengers know how to describe the goal in such glowing terms that they will muster all their strength in order to attain it. But only a few people will take this narrow path at all, for the most part My messengers will not even be listened to, and the difficult and arduous climb scares those people off who only consider their body but not their soul.... The broad path, however, is a misguided path, it irrevocably leads into the abyss, they get caught up in the impenetrable undergrowth and are unable to free themselves from it unless they call upon the help of the One, of Whom they certainly know but in Whom they didn't want to believe.... He alone can send helpers even into this confusion, which will release them and guide them to another path, yet only a few will appeal to the One for help and their end will be a dreadful one.

Always remember that you don't live on earth in order to enjoy yourselves and to merely provide a good living standard for your body, but believe that you should first consider your soul. And in order to help your soul you should patiently accept all difficulties, walk the narrow path in the knowledge that it requires strength to ascend and believe that it will lead to the goal, that it will become increasingly brighter the higher you will climb, and that at the end of the path there will be One Who already expects you, that He will send his messengers to meet you who will support you and help you overcome all obstacles.... that your eyes need only look upwards in order to receive strength and light so that you will not go astray and prevail over all discomforts on the way.... But don't let yourselves be deceived by the attractive images lining the wide path that leads down into the abyss. Your goal is up high, in the light, and truly, you will only have to make an effort for a short time in order to reach the pinnacle, yet this effort will be richly rewarded, for then you will no longer need to fear any evil if you no longer disregard the goal.... which is Me Myself, Who wants to guide you into paradise, into the kingdom of light and bliss.... However, this can never be reached on the broad path, for this is My adversary's means, who wants to show you all the riches in the world in order to keep you away from the goal to unite yourselves with me again. He only influences people's senses, I, however, want to gain your souls and therefore must deprive you of everything which might damage your soul, which includes all worldly pleasures and delights, for 'My kingdom is not of this world....' If you strive for this world you will not attain My kingdom, therefore shun the world wherever possible even if you have to comply with all requirements which life on earth demands of you.... But don't let them become your purpose in life, instead only aspire for My kingdom, and you will truly not regret it and gladly travel the narrow path leading upwards, because you will soon recognise Me in the guide Who walks by your side.... Then I Myself will be able to escort you because you have made Me the goal of your earthly life and because I also know that you are turning away from the one who only promises and offers the world to you.... And the further you distance yourselves from the said broad path the easier will be your ascent, for the heights you aspire to will become ever brighter until you are finally surrounded by the brightest shine and you enter into My kingdom which will reveal unimaginable splendours to you, and then you will live in light and strength and freedom and be supremely happy....

Der breite und der schmale Weg....

Wer sich der Welt verschrieben hat, der findet schwerlich den Weg ins geistige Reich.... Er geht einen breiten, ebenen Weg, der ihm viele lockende Bilder bietet, die alle seine Sinne gefangennehmen, die seinem Körper Wohlbehagen schaffen und von denen sein Auge sich nicht trennen kann.... Er wird in blumige Gärten schauen, seine Lebenslust wird angeregt, und er wird nicht ermüden, alles Reizvolle in sich aufzunehmen, denn sein Wesen verlangt danach, und es wird sein Verlangen gestillt von dem, der es verhindern will, daß sich die Gedanken des Menschen dem geistigen Reich zuwenden. Seine Seele aber darbet, denn nichts von allen Gütern, die ihm die Welt bietet, stillt den Hunger und Durst der Seele, die eine andere Nahrung benötigt, um auszureifen, um zu gesunden. Denn die Seele ist krank und elend, wenn ihr nur weltliche Dinge geboten werden. Doch immer wieder stehen Boten an den Kreuzungen, wo schmale Wege abzweigen, und wollen den Menschen auf diese schmalen Wege hinüberlocken. Jedoch nur selten gelingt es ihnen, einen Menschen zu überreden, seinen Weg auf der breiten Straße nicht fortzusetzen, sondern den schmalen Weg zu benützen, der schneller und sicher zum Ziel führt. Wenn die Menschen auf Meine Boten hören und ihr Geleit annehmen, dann ist ihnen wahrlich geholfen, und bald werden sie ihre Blicke nach oben wenden und mutig bergan gehen, weil sie dort ein herrliches Ziel erblicken, sie werden sich auch nicht zurückhalten lassen von Hindernissen oder Beschwerlichkeiten aller Art, sie folgen ihrem Führer und überwinden alle Schwierigkeiten, denn Meine Boten wissen ihnen das Ziel so herrlich zu schildern, daß sie alle ihre Kräfte anwenden, um es zu erreichen. Aber nur wenige treten diesen schmalen Weg überhaupt an, zumeist werden die Boten nicht erst angehört, und vor dem unwegsamen (beschwerlichen) Aufstieg schrecken die Menschen zurück, die nur ihres Körpers, aber nicht ihrer Seele gedenken.... Der breite Weg aber ist ein Irrweg, denn er führt unwiderruflich hinab in die Tiefe, sie geraten in ein undurchdringliches Gestrüpp und können sich nicht mehr daraus befreien, es sei denn, sie rufen den Einen um Hilfe an, von Dem sie wohl wissen, aber nicht an Ihn glauben wollten.... Er allein kann ihnen auch in diese Wirrnis Helfer senden, die ihn befreien und einem anderen Weg zuleiten, doch wenige nur bitten diesen Einen um Hilfe, und ihr Ende wird schrecklich sein. Denket immer daran, daß ihr nicht über die Erde gehet, um zu genießen und eurem Körper nur ein Wohlleben zu schaffen, sondern glaubet, daß die Seele zuerst bedacht werden soll. Und um ihr zu helfen, nehmet alles Schwere geduldig auf euch, gehet bewußt den schmalen Weg, der von euch Kraft zum Aufstieg fordert, und glaubet daran, daß er zum Ziel führt, daß er immer heller wird, je höher ihr steigt, und daß euch Einer schon erwartet am Ende des Weges, daß Er euch Boten entgegensendet, die euch stützen und alle Hindernisse überwinden helfen.... daß euer Auge nur emporgerichtet zu sein brauchet, um von oben auch Kraft und Licht zu erhalten, daß ihr nicht fehlgehet und alle Beschwernisse des Weges überwindet.... Aber lasset euch nicht täuschen von den reizvollen Bildern, die den breiten Weg einsäumen, der nach unten, in den Abgrund führt. Euer Ziel ist oben, im Licht, und wahrlich, es ist nur eine kurze Mühe, die ihr aufbringen müsset, um zur Höhe zu gelangen, doch diese Mühe wird euch reichlich entlohnt, denn ihr brauchet dann keinerlei Übles mehr zu fürchten, wenn ihr das Ziel nicht mehr außer acht lasset.... Mich Selbst, Der Ich euch einführen will in das Paradies, in das Reich des Lichtes und der Seligkeit.... Dieses aber kann niemals auf dem breiten Wege erreicht werden, denn dieser ist Meines Gegners Mittel, der euch alle Güter der Welt vor Augen führen will, um euch von dem Ziel abzuhalten, mit Mir wieder vereint zu sein. Er wirkt nur auf die Sinne des Menschen ein, Ich aber will eure Seelen gewinnen und muß euch daher alles vorenthalten, was eurer Seele schaden könnte, wozu alle weltlichen Freuden und Genüsse zählen, denn "Mein Reich ist nicht von dieser Welt...." Strebet ihr diese Welt an, dann gelanget ihr nicht in Mein Reich, und darum meidet die Welt, wo es nur möglich ist, selbst wenn ihr allen Anforderungen, die das Erdenleben an euch stellet, nachkommen müsset.... Aber lasset sie nicht für euch zum Lebensinhalt werden, sondern strebet nur Mein Reich an, und ihr werdet es wahrlich nicht bereuen und gern den schmalen Weg gehen, der zur Höhe führt, weil ihr bald auch Mich erkennen werdet in dem Führer, Der euch zur Seite geht.... Denn Ich kann euch dann auch Selbst begleiten, weil ihr Mich zum Ziel eures Erdenwandels macht und weil Ich nun auch erkenne, daß ihr euch abwendet von dem, der euch nur die Welt verspricht und bietet.... Und je weiter ihr euch entfernet von jenem breiten Weg, desto leichter wird euch nun auch der Aufstieg werden, denn immer lichter werden die Höhen, denen ihr zustrebt, bis euch dann hellster Glanz umfängt und ihr eingehet in Mein Reich, das euch ungeahnte Herrlichkeiten erschließen wird, und ihr nun leben werdet in Licht und Kraft und Freiheit und selig seid....
