Fight against ego love....

Anyone who has overcome himself to such an extent that he is willing to make sacrifices for the sake of his neighbour has victoriously passed the battle against selfish love, and the neighbourly love strengthened in him will certainly lead him to perfection. Yet the battle against selfish love is difficult, it requires a strong will to overcome oneself if the human being is not driven to love from within by the dormant spiritual spark within him, which is part of divine love which is always willing to give. Then it will also be easy for the human being to carry out works of love, for then his being is already filled with love.... he follows the urging of the spirit within him, his being itself will become love, and he will also fulfil his purpose of earthly life.... Ego love will become ever smaller and the giving, gratifying love will fill him more and more; he will enter his earthly life (his original state) again, which was pure love. But where self-love is still strong and the human being is made aware of the divine commandments of love, the human being's will can strive to do what is right before God in His eyes.... He can therefore consciously fight against self-love, he can carry out planned works of love.... less driven from within than in the will to fulfil God's commandments.... Then it will certainly be a struggle at first, but that good will will let him emerge victorious from this struggle, for he will receive much support from God.... he will experience strengthening of his will, and again and again he will be offered opportunities to be lovingly active.... And he will acquire reciprocal love, and this will touch him inwardly and strengthen his will to love. And now the urge to be lovingly active will also become noticeable in him, he will not resist, and he will have passed the battle and his soul will mature. And thus the will's turning towards God is decisive.... This will will always express itself or prove itself through the fulfilment of His will.... Where the spirit in the human being can express itself early on, the human being will also be recognizable through loving activity, through a helpful, friendly nature which is always willing to serve. Then the divine little spark of love in the human being's heart can develop into a bright-igniting flame, and that means increased helpfulness and joyful service in love.... But the human being can also feel addressed by the word of God which is conveyed to him and which contains the divine commandments of love. He can believe that God requires love for Him and his neighbour, and then he can intellectually agree and make an effort to live as prescribed by God's commandments.... Yet his will must always already be turned towards God, otherwise even those teachings will not touch him and he will not feel addressed in any way when love for God and his neighbour is preached. It is certainly possible that he changes his mind through great need of his fellow human being and is ready to help. And then the fight against self-love begins, which costs a lot of effort and does not always end in victory. Yet such people with hardened hearts can be greatly helped if they themselves are shown much unselfish love which is capable of awakening love in return.... if they are helped out of hardship in a selfless way, if they are repeatedly offered love which they will feel charitably and which can also change their nature.... For the divine spark glows in every human heart, and as soon as it succeeds in appealing to it, it works itself from within with great strength.... Yet again and again the divine teaching of love should be proclaimed to people, they should know about God's will, and they should also experience the effect of a life of love as well as know about the failure of earthly life, that they can only become blissfully happy through love and that they therefore have to fight against self-love, because this is a wrongly directed love which hinders the human being's perfection, because it is the inheritance of the one who is devoid of all love and who is therefore also wretched until he, too, will change, until his nature has become love again, as it was in the beginning....

La lutte contre l'amour propre

Celui qui s’est dépassé lui-même au point d’être disposé à porter un sacrifice pour le prochain a soutenu victorieusement la lutte contre l'amour propre, et l'amour pour le prochain qui s’est renforcé en lui le portera certainement à la perfection. Mais la lutte contre l'amour propre est difficile, elle demande une forte volonté pour l'autodépassement, lorsque l'homme lui-même n'est pas poussé de l'intérieur à l'amour à travers l’étincelle spirituelle qui somnole en lui, qui est la part de l'Amour divin qui est toujours prêt à donner. Alors il sera aussi facile pour l'homme de dérouler des œuvres d'amour, parce qu'alors son être est déjà rempli d'amour, il suit la poussée de l'esprit en lui, son être lui-même devient amour et il s'acquittera aussi du but de sa vie terrestre. L'amour propre diminuera toujours davantage et il sera rempli toujours plus par l'amour qui veut rendre heureux ; durant la vie terrestre il entre de nouveau dans son état primordial qui était pur amour. Mais là où l'amour propre est encore fort et où à l'homme il doit être fait découvrir les divins Commandements de l'amour, la volonté de l'homme peut aspirer à faire devant Dieu ce qui est juste devant Ses Yeux. L'homme peut donc combattre consciemment contre l'amour propre, il peut dérouler des œuvres d'amour comme prévu, moins poussé de l'intérieur que par la volonté de s'acquitter des Commandements de Dieu. Alors initialement il y aura bien une lutte, mais sa bonne volonté le fera sortir victorieux de cette lutte, parce qu'il aura beaucoup de Soutien de la part de Dieu, il expérimentera la fortification de sa volonté et il lui sera toujours de nouveau offert des occasions dans lesquelles il peut s'activer affectueusement. Et il se conquerra l'amour en retour et cela le touchera intérieurement et fortifiera sa volonté d'amour. Et maintenant en lui la poussée à agir dans l'amour devient perceptible, il ne s’y oppose pas et a dépassé la lutte et son âme mûrit. Et donc il est déterminant de tourner sa volonté vers Dieu. Cette volonté se manifestera toujours de nouveau ou se montrera à travers l'accomplissement de Sa Volonté. Là où l'esprit dans l'homme peut déjà se manifester, l'homme sera aussi reconnaissable par ses actions d'amour, à travers un être prêt à aider, gentil, qui est toujours prêt à servir. Alors la divine étincelle d'amour dans le cœur de l'homme peut se développer dans une flamme qui éclate clairement et cela signifie une grande disponibilité d'aide et un service gentil dans l'amour. Mais l'homme peut aussi se sentir interpelé par la Parole de Dieu qui lui est guidée et qui a pour contenu les divins Commandements de l'amour. Il peut croire que Dieu exige de lui l'amour pour Lui et pour le prochain et alors il peut l’approuver intellectuellement et s’efforcer de vivre de la manière qui lui est prescrite par les Commandements de Dieu. Mais sa volonté doit déjà être toujours tournée vers Dieu, autrement ces enseignements ne le touchent pas et lui-même ne se sent interpelé d’aucune manière lorsqu’il lui est prêché l'amour pour Dieu et pour le prochain. Il est bien possible qu’au travers de la grande misère du prochain il change sa mentalité et soit prêt à aider. Et alors il commence donc aussi la lutte contre l'amour propre qui coûte le plus grand dépassement et ne se termine pas toujours avec une victoire. Mais à de tels hommes endurcis dans le cœur il peut être prêté une grande aide, lorsqu’à eux-mêmes il est apporté beaucoup d'amour désintéressé qui est en mesure de réveiller l'amour en retour, lorsqu’ils sont aidés d’une manière désintéressée à sortir de la misère, lorsqu’il leur est apporté toujours de nouveau l’amour qu'ils perçoivent certes avec bienveillance et qui peut aussi changer leur être. Parce que dans chaque cœur d'homme brûle une étincelle divine et dès qu'elle réussit seulement à être interpelée, elle-même agit de l'intérieur avec une grande Force. Mais aux hommes il doit toujours de nouveau être annoncé la divine Doctrine de l'amour, ils doivent savoir la Volonté de Dieu et ils doivent aussi savoir l'effet d'une vie dans l'amour comme aussi l'échec de la vie terrestre, et qu’ils peuvent devenir bienheureux seulement à travers l'amour et donc ils doivent combattre contre l'amour propre, parce que celui-ci est un amour orienté erronément qui est un obstacle au perfectionnement de l'homme, parce qu'il est la part d'héritage de celui qui est dépourvu de n'importe quel amour et qui donc est aussi malheureux tant qu’il ne change pas, tant que son être ne sera pas devenu amour, comme il l’était au début.
