Purification of the soul through love....
It contributes a lot to your purification if you only keep reminding yourselves of the commandments of love for God and your neighbour and ask yourselves how far you comply with these commandments. For if you are honest with yourselves you will never be satisfied with yourselves and your way of life, because you could always be more eager in your activity of love and often miss an opportunity. But already the will to act right and already the fact to carry out this self-examination is an advantage for your soul, for every good will has a beneficial effect. And during such a serious examination you will also become aware of your weaknesses, which every person still has, even if his will is good, until he is so eagerly active in love that he is now filled by the strength of love which also gives the will the right strengthening. Just never believe that you no longer need to purify your soul; never believe that you have already reached the degree which secures your entry into the kingdom of light. You must strive and work on yourselves as long as you live on earth, and you will only do well if you often devote yourselves to such inner reflections and try to fathom your faults and weaknesses. And your will will also be strengthened to constantly carry out the work on your soul, because such introspections already testify to your serious will to become perfect. Every omission of a good deed will come to your mind during self-examination, every failure or disregard of the divine commandments of love will come to your mind, and then you should only ever firmly resolve to improve yourselves and use every opportunity to make up for what you have neglected, and it will only result in a blessing for you that you will always fulfil the commandments of love for God and your neighbour more easily, because you will receive strength if your will is serious. The human being should once consider his duties towards his neighbour if he wants to fulfil this very commandment.... He should always remind himself that he should help his neighbour in every adversity and distress, be it of an earthly or spiritual nature.... And therefore he should not close his eyes to his neighbour's adversity, he should always remember how helpful help would be to him in the same adversity and how gratefully he would accept it. And he should always consider what his fellow human being is in need of, be it spiritually or physically.... For he should also try to remedy spiritual hardship where possible, because this is a work of love with a special effect on his fellow human being's soul. For this reason the human being cannot go into himself often enough and think about everything God requires of him through His commandments of love, for these are always the guideline for a correctly lived earthly change, he can always keep to these commandments if he wants to live his earthly life correctly and according to God's will, always as a blessing for himself and his fellow human beings.... For God requires nothing else of the human being than that he change into love, He only requires that he fulfils His commandments in order to grant him a blissful life in light and strength and freedom, which, however, is inconceivable without love.... And all perfection of the soul solely depends on the transformation (of selfish love) into unselfish love, which then also guarantees love for God and establishes the union with Him, on which all beatitude in the spiritual kingdom depends....

La purificazione dell’anima attraverso l’amore
Molto contribuisce alla vostra purificazione, se vi tenete solo sempre di nuovo davanti i Comandamenti dell’amore per Dio ed il prossimo e vi domandate, fin dove eseguite questi Comandamenti. Perché se siete onesti verso voi stessi, non sarete mai soddisfatti di voi stessi e del vostro cammino di vita, perché potreste essere sempre più ferventi nel vostro agire d’amore e sovente perdete una opportunità. Ma già la volontà di agire bene e già il fatto di svolgere questa auto-osservazione, è di vantaggio per la vostra anima, perché ogni buona volontà ha per conseguenza la Benedizione. In un tale serio esame vi rendete anche conto delle vostre debolezze che ogni uomo ha ancora, persino quando la sua volontà è buona, finché è così fervente nell’agire nell’amore, che ora lo colma la Forza d’amore, che dà alla volontà anche una giusta fortificazione.
Non crediate mai di non aver bisogno di una purificazione della vostra anima; non credete mai di aver già raggiunto quel grado, che vi assicura l’entrata nel Regno di Luce, dovete tendere e lavorare su voi stessi, finché vivete sulla Terra e farete soltanto bene, se vi date più sovente a tali osservazioni interiori e cercate di sondare i vostri errori e debolezze. Verrà fortificata anche la vostra volontà ad eseguire continuamente il lavoro sull’anima, perché tali auto osservazioni testimoniano già della vostra seria volontà di diventare perfetti. Ogni omissione di una buona azione vi verrà in mente durante una auto-osservazione, vi verrà in mente ogni fallimento oppure dispregio dei divini Comandamenti d’amore, ed allora dovete soltanto sempre prendere la salda premessa di migliorare ed utilizzare ogni occasione di fare ciò che avete mancato di fare, e per voi ci sarà soltanto una Benedizione, che adempirete con sempre più facilità i Comandamenti dell’amore per Dio e per il prossimo, perché sentite la Forza, se la vostra volontà è seria.
L’uomo deve una volta occuparsi con i suoi doveri verso il prossimo, quando vuole adempiere appunto questo Comandamento. Deve sempre tener presente, che deve aiutare il prossimo in ogni miseria ed oppressine, sia di genere terreno oppure spirituale. Perciò non deve tener chiuso gli occhi davanti alla sua miseria, deve sempre ricordarsi, come gli verrebbe un aiuto nella stessa miseria e con quanta gratitudine l’accetterebbe. Deve sempre ricordare quello di cui il prossimo ha bisogno, sia spiritualmente che corporalmente, perché deve cercare di alleviare anche la miseria spirituale dove questo è possibile, perché questa è un’opera d’amore di particolare effetto per l’anima del prossimo.
Perciò, l’uomo non può entrare in sé abbastanza sovente e riflettere su tutto ciò che Dio pretende da lui attraverso i Suoi Comandamenti dell’amore, perché questi sono sempre la linea di condotta per un cammino di vita terrena vissuto in modo corretto, può sempre attenersi a questi Comandamenti, se vuole condurre la sua vita terrena in modo giusto e secondo la Volontà di Dio, sempre per la Benedizione sua e del suo prossimo. Perché Dio non pretende dall’uomo altro che costui cammini nell’amore, Egli pretende solamente, che adempia i Suoi Comandamenti, per donargli una Vita beata nella Luce, la Forza e la Libertà, cosa che però senza amore non è pensabile. Ogni perfezionamento dell’anima dipende unicamente dalla trasformazione (dell’amore dell’io) nell’amore disinteressato, che poi garantisce anche l’amore per Dio e stabilisce l’unificazione con Lui, da cui dipende ogni Beatitudine nel Regno spirituale.
