The blessing of spiritual work....

Active spiritual work increasingly releases you from the material world and you become its conqueror as well as its master. The more you occupy yourselves with spiritual work the more the soul releases itself from its physical form even though you live on earth, yet it raises itself into other spheres, it enters the path to its true home, it is just a guest on this earth which has not forgotten its true home but steadily strives towards it. But what does the ‘spiritual work’, which lifts you from the earth’s sphere, consist of?....

Every thought concerning the spiritual world initiates such spiritual work because as soon as the soul grasps the thoughts which come from that world the beings of light enter into contact with it and, as you might say, enter into conversation, i.e. one thought develops into another, the thoughts lead to God and in turn open the dialogue with God and the effect is that the human being now talks to his fellow human beings about spiritual matters, that he is no longer content with worldly knowledge, that all his thoughts reach precisely into that spiritual sphere from where he is now taught, from where his soul now receives spiritual nourishment. In this manner the soul matures fully, it will persuade the body to conduct itself during earthly life in accordance to its spiritual insights, the human being will work on himself, he will live consciously, i.e. he will be conscious of the purpose of his existence and his goal and make an effort to achieve this goal. Although he continues to live his earthly life he won’t consider it the most important issue but his thoughts will repeatedly lift themselves into the kingdom which is not of this world. And he cannot help himself but work on behalf of this kingdom by seeking to encourage his fellow human beings to take more notice of the spiritual kingdom than of worldly life, he will draw their attention to the emptiness of a worldly orientated life.... he will have conversations with other people about the cross of Golgotha.... he cannot help himself but mention the Divine Redeemer Jesus Christ time after time because the spiritual kingdom captivates him as well as Jesus Christ Himself, Who takes pleasure in His children who love and strive to follow Him.

You will learn to appreciate the value of an earthly life which enables you to be spiritually active and which offers spiritual success for your soul.... Because you are guided by beings of light to whom you are assigned for care during your earthly life. And their influence will not cease and only ever relate to your soul which can only profit from spiritual activity, which will mature fully during earthly life and also is a shining example to your fellow human beings. Because a spiritually striving soul is outwardly recognisable by constantly working for the kingdom of God and always performing labours of love in God’s vineyard as it feels the inner urge to serve God and to lead other souls back to Him, because its inner love expresses itself at all times in work for God and His kingdom....

De zegen van geestelijke werkzaamheid ....

In drukke geestelijke werkzaamheid maken jullie je steeds meer los van de materiële wereld, en jullie worden tot overwinnaars ervan, evenals van haar heer. Hoe meer jullie je bezig houden met geestelijke werkzaamheid, des te meer komt de ziel los uit haar lichamelijk omhulsel - ofschoon jullie op aarde leven - maar zij verheft zich in andere sferen. Ze betreedt de weg naar haar ware Vaderland, ze is slechts een gast op deze aarde, die zijn ware Vaderland niet vergeten heeft, maar deze onstuitbaar nastreeft.

Maar waaruit bestaat de "geestelijke werkzaamheid", die jullie verheft uit de aardse sfeer? Iedere gedachte in de geestelijke wereld leidt naar zulke geestelijke werkzaamheid, want zodra de ziel de gedachten opvangt, die haar van gene zijde worden toegestuurd, zullen de lichtwezens met haar in verbinding treden en als het ware een geestelijke tweespraak voeren, dat wil zeggen: de ene gedachte zal de andere voortbrengen, de gedachten zullen verwijzen naar God, ook zullen ze weer de tweespraak met God inleiden, en het gevolg daarvan zal zijn, dat de mens zich nu ook met zijn medemensen over geestelijke dingen gaat onderhouden; dat hij zich niet tevreden stelt met wereldse kennis, maar dat al zijn denken juist te maken heeft met het geestelijke gebied, van waaruit hij nu onderricht wordt, van waaruit de ziel nu geestelijk voedsel ontvangt.

De ziel zal daardoor rijp worden, ze zal het lichaam aansporen zich ook overeenkomstig haar geestelijk inzicht te gedragen tijdens het aardse leven. De mens zal aan zich zelf werken, hij zal bewust leven, dat wil zeggen: zich bewust zijn van de zin en het doel van zijn bestaan en hij zal er naar toe werken, dat hij dit doel bereikt. Hij zal weliswaar zijn aardse leven leiden, maar dat zal voor hem niet de hoofdzaak zijn, want steeds weer zullen zijn gedachten omhoog zweven, naar het Rijk, dat niet van deze wereld is.

En hij zal niet anders kunnen, dan voor dit Rijk werkzaam te zijn, door op de medemensen proberen in te werken, het geestelijke Rijk meer aandacht te schenken dan het aardse leven. Hij zal hen opmerkzaam maken op het nutteloze werk van het leven, dat alleen op het wereldse gericht is. Hij zal met de medemensen gesprekken voeren, die gaan over het kruis van Golgotha - hij zal niet anders kunnen, dan steeds weer te gewagen van de goddelijke Verlosser Jezus Christus, omdat het geestelijke rijk hem vasthoudt, evenals Jezus Christus zelf, Die vreugde beleeft aan Zijn kinderen, die Hem liefhebben en Hem proberen na te volgen.

En jullie zullen het aardse leven ook op de juiste waarde leren te schatten, door geestelijk werkzaam te zijn, en zo jullie weg gaan met geestelijk resultaat voor jullie ziel. Want jullie worden geleid door de Lichtwezens, aan wier zorg jullie tijdens jullie aardse leven zijn toevertrouwd. En hun invloed zal niet ophouden en altijd slechts jullie ziel gelden, die alleen maar kan winnen door geestelijke werkzaamheid, die rijp zal worden tijdens het aardse leven en ook een lichtend voorbeeld is voor jullie medemensen.

Want een ziel, die naar het geestelijke streeft, is ook uiterlijk te herkennen, doordat zij onophoudelijk werkzaam is voor het Rijk Gods en onophoudelijk werkt in de Wijngaard, omdat zij van binnen de drang voelt God te dienen en ook andere zielen naar Hem toe te leiden, want in haar is liefde, die zich voortdurend zal uiten in het werkzaam zijn voor God en Zijn Rijk.
