'Life' requires awakening of the spirit....

It is the spirit that makes alive.... As long as you humans have not yet awakened the spirit within you to life, all knowledge is dead and cannot lead you to life. And no matter how deeply the intellect strives to penetrate, it will not reach its aim, namely to penetrate God's plan of salvation with full clarity so that everything becomes understandable to it, so that it recognizes God's working and activity in His love and wisdom and now burns with love for Him.... Only an awakened spirit sees brightly and clearly. And the human being now has realization, he knows about his purpose of existence, about cause and destiny on this earth. But dead knowledge is everything that is gained intellectually, which the soul cannot yet comment on because the spirit in the human being has not yet been able to explain it to it, whose working is not yet permitted. This applies to spiritual knowledge which touches those areas which cannot be 'researched', which cannot be proven and yet must be called the most important, even though it is inscrutable to human intellect. For this spiritual knowledge not only concerns life on this earth but it also extends to the kingdom beyond this earth, it also concerns the time before and after life on this earth.... And such knowledge can therefore only be of blessing when the spirit from God explains it to people, when something 'living' speaks to the still dead in order to thereby also give him life. And this spirit must be prompted to work by the will of the human being himself, the human being must seek the connection with God, the father-spirit from eternity, of his own accord, which can only ever happen through heartfelt prayer and through lovingprayer.... Thereby the spiritual spark in him becomes free and thus active. The bond with God ensures the supply of strength and light, the dark, unknowing state disappears because the light illuminates everything, and the strength expresses itself in constantly increased loving activity.... Life comes over that which was hitherto dead, the human being himself becomes eagerly active and all hitherto dead knowledge also comes alive, all correlations become clear to the human being, he recognizes that a plan of salvation is unfolding in divine order; he knows the reason for it and recognizes that he himself is at the centre of that plan of salvation, that it concerns himself, that an aim has to be reached and that he can only reach that aim if he walks in the light.... that, as it were, the light itself is already the aim, that without this light he remains eternally in the depths.... that 'life' therefore also necessarily means or requires 'awakening of the spirit' in him. He recognizes that everything dead only leads deeper and deeper until complete torpor is his lot. And each individual must strive for this life himself, for it cannot be transferred but always requires devotion to God, the request for help and the willingness to love.... And this life can never be replaced by increased intellectual activity, which is why every person can attain life even if he is poor in intellectual knowledge.... whereas a high degree of knowledge still does not signify 'life' if the person lacks these conditions: Devotion to God and activity of love. Then he will eternally not attain life, for the spirit slumbers within him, it is not given the opportunity to express itself and spread light, and it will remain dark in the human being, for he himself is dead in spirit....

"Leben" bedingt Erweckung des Geistes....

Der Geist ist es, der lebendig macht.... Solange ihr Menschen noch nicht den Geist in euch zum Leben erweckt habt, ist auch alles Wissen tot und kann euch nicht zum Leben führen. Und ob der Verstand noch so tief einzudringen bestrebt ist, er wird nicht zum Ziel kommen, nämlich in voller Klarheit in den Heilsplan Gottes eindringen, so daß ihm alles verständlich wird, daß er das Wirken und Walten Gottes in Seiner Liebe und Weisheit erkennt und nun in Liebe zu Ihm entbrennt.... Erst ein erweckter Geist sieht hell und klar. Und es steht der Mensch nun in der Erkenntnis, er weiß um seinen Daseinszweck, um Ursache und Bestimmung auf dieser Erde. Ein totes Wissen aber ist alles das, was verstandesmäßig gewonnen wird, wozu die Seele noch nicht Stellung nehmen kann, weil der Geist im Menschen es ihr noch nicht erklären konnte, dessen Wirken noch nicht zugelassen ist. Dies gilt für das Geistesgut, das jene Gebiete berührt, die nicht "erforscht" werden können, die sich nicht beweisen lassen und doch das Wichtigste genannt werden müssen, wenngleich es unerforschlich ist für menschlichen Verstand. Denn dieses Geistesgut betrifft nicht nur das Leben auf dieser Erde, sondern es erstreckt sich auch auf das Reich jenseits dieser Erde, es betrifft auch die Zeit vor und nach dem Leben auf dieser Erde.... Und ein solches Wissen kann also erst dann von Segen sein, wenn der Geist aus Gott es den Menschen erklärt, wenn etwas "Lebendes" zu dem noch Toten spricht, um ihm dadurch auch das Leben zu geben. Und dieser Geist muß durch den Willen des Menschen selbst zum Wirken veranlaßt werden, der Mensch muß aus eigenem Antrieb die Verbindung suchen mit Gott, dem Vatergeist von Ewigkeit, was immer nur geschehen kann durch inniges Gebet und durch Liebewirken.... Dadurch wird der Geistesfunke in ihm frei und also tätig. Die Bindung mit Gott sichert die Zuleitung von Kraft und Licht, der dunkle, erkenntnislose Zustand schwindet, weil das Licht alles erhellt, und die Kraft äußert sich in ständig vermehrtem Liebewirken.... Es kommt Leben über das bisher Tote, es wird der Mensch selbst eifrig tätig, und auch alles bisher tote Wissen wird lebendig, alle Zusammenhänge werden dem Menschen klar, er erkennt, daß sich in göttlicher Ordnung ein Heilsplan abwickelt; er weiß um die Begründung dessen, und er erkennt, daß er selbst im Mittelpunkt jenes Heilsplanes steht, daß es um ihn selbst geht, daß ein Ziel erreicht werden muß und daß er jenes Ziel nur erreichen kann, wenn er im Licht wandelt.... daß gleichsam das Licht selbst schon das Ziel ist, daß er ohne dieses Licht ewig in der Tiefe bleibt.... daß also "Leben" unbedingt auch "Erweckung des Geistes" in ihm bedeutet oder erfordert. Er erkennt, daß alles Tote nur immer tiefer führt, bis eine völlige Erstarrung sein Los ist. Und jeder einzelne muß selbst dieses Leben anstreben, denn es kann nicht übertragen werden, sondern erfordert immer die Hingabe an Gott, die Bitte um Hilfe und die Bereitwilligkeit zum Liebewirken.... Und niemals ist dieses Leben zu ersetzen durch erhöhte Verstandestätigkeit, weshalb also ein jeder Mensch zum Leben gelangen kann, auch wenn er arm an Verstandeswissen ist.... dagegen ein hohes Maß von Wissen noch lange kein "Leben" bedeutet, wenn es der Mensch fehlen lässet an jenen Bedingungen: Hingabe an Gott und Liebewirken. Dann wird er ewig nicht zum Leben gelangen, denn der Geist schlummert in ihm, es ist ihm nicht die Möglichkeit gegeben, sich zu äußern und Licht zu verbreiten, und es wird dunkel bleiben im Menschen, denn er ist selbst tot im Geist....
