Union of the soul with the spirit....

When the human being's soul unites with its spirit, when it therefore leaves the guidance to it, the human being cannot go wrong, and all his thinking, wanting and acting will now be rightly directed.... But when does the soul unite with its spirit?.... This is the moment when the human being learns to believe in a God and creator Whose creature he is himself out of innermost conviction, and when he has the desire to enter into contact with this recognized God.... when his thoughts are turned towards Him and he inwardly desires to enter into a relationship with Him which is pleasing to God.... when he positively attunes himself towards God.... Then he will be seized by the divine within himself, the spirit slumbering in him will guide him from that moment on and he will feel inwardly urged to live according to God's will, he will ignite love within himself, because this is already the working of the spirit in the human being and because the spirit can now also express itself noticeably, because the human being gives him the right to do so through his way of life in love.... Thus, the first sign of a spirit awakened to life is the working of love, for the spirit determines the soul.... the thinking, feeling and willing in the human being.... and it can certainly be said of a loving person that his soul has united with the spirit. And then the human being will also live a spiritual life alongside his earthly life, then his thoughts will not only be concerned with the world and earthly things, then he will often mentally dwell in the kingdom where he seeks God; he will deal with questions which lie outside of earthly knowledge, and he will then, as it were, pose these questions to the spirit working within him, which will also answer them, even though the human being only 'imagines himself to be mentally active'.... The desire to be in right relationship with God irrevocably results in the unification of his soul with the spirit, and this desire will certainly be granted to him, for it is a spiritual request which the human being sends to the creator of the universe, which is heard and which is always granted, because it is the human being's purpose of life in the first place to enter into right relationship with Him.... But then the spirit will completely take over the human being's guidance, and then he will also safely reach his aim.... The divine in the human being will always express itself when his thoughts seriously take the path to God, for then God Himself will also work on him through His spirit, and every thought turned towards Him is a step upwards, and if this thought is consciously pursued by the human being sending a prayer to his God and creator of eternity, then God will also soon reveal Himself to him as father, for prayer is the bridge which establishes a connection from the human being to God.... But then the human being will be in the best of care, for the essential deity will take hold of him and affect him through the spirit so that he will increasingly narrow the gap between himself and God, for the spirit will constantly push towards the father-spirit and the human being's desire to come closer to God will grow ever greater until it is fulfilled in complete union with Him through love.... which now fills the human being's nature because the eternal love Itself is active in him....

혼이 영과 하나가 되는 일.

사람의 혼이 그 영과 연합하고 인도를 영에게 맡기면, 사람은 잘못될 수 없고 그의 모든 생각과 갈망과 행동이 이제 올바른 방향으로 향하게 될 것이다. 그러나 혼은 언제 그 영과 연합이 되느냐? 이런 일은 사람이 가장 깊은 확신으로 그 자신의 하나님의 피조물인 창조주 하나님을 믿는 법을 배우는 순간이고 그가 자신이 깨달은 하나님과 연결을 이루기를 원할 때이고 그의 생각이 하나님께 향하고 내적으로 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 하나님의 관계를 이루기를 원할 때이고 그가 하나님께 대한 긍정적인 자세를 가질 때이다. 그러면 그는 신적인 존재를 자신 안에 모시고 그 안에서 잠 들어 있는 영이 그 시간부터 그를 인도할 것이고 그는 내적으로 하나님의 뜻 대로 살라는 자극을 느끼게 될 것이고 자신 안에 사랑이 타오르게 할 것이다. 왜냐면 이런 역사가 이미 영이 사람 안에서 역사하고 영이 이제 느낄 수 있게 표현할 수 있기 때문이다. 왜냐면 사람이 영에게 자신의 사랑을 행하는 삶을 통해 그렇게 역사할 권리를 부여하기 때문이다.

사랑을 행하는 일은 영이 처음으로 생명으로 깨어난 증거이다. 왜냐면 영이 혼을 정하고 인간 안의 생각과 느낌과 의지를 정하기 때문이고 게다가 사랑을 행하는 사람은 그의 혼이 그의 영과 하나가 되었다고 말할 수 있기 때문이다. 그러면 사람은 자신의 세상적인 삶과 함께 영적인 삶을 살고 그러면 그의 생각은 세상과 세상 사물에만 관심을 갖는 것이 아니라 생각이 종종 그가 하나님을 구하는 나라에 거하게 될 것이다. 그는 세상의 지식 밖에 있는 질문을 다루게 될 것이다. 그는 이제 이런 질문을 자신 안에서 역사하는 영에게 묻고 비록 사람이 자신이 스스로 생각하는 것으로 여길지라도 영은 그를 위해 대답해줄 것이다.

하나님과 바른 관계를 맺으려는 갈망은 피할 수 없게 자신의 혼과 영이 하나가 되게 하고 이런 갈망은 그에게 확실하게 성취 된다. 왜냐면 이런 요청은 인간이 속한 우주의 창조주에게 보내는 영적인 요청이고 항상 응답을 받기 때문이고 하나님과 올바른 관계를 맺는 일이 일반적으로 인간의 삶의 목적이기 때문이다. 그러면 영이 전적으로 사람을 인도하는 일을 맡고 사람이 안전하게 목표에 도달하게 된다.

인간 안의 신적인 존재가 인간의 생각이 진지하게 하나님께 향하면 항상 자신을 표현할 것이다. 왜냐면 그러면 하나님 자신이 자신의 영을 통해 인간에게 역사하고 하나님께 향한 모든 생각은 높은 곳을 향한 한 걸음이고 인간이 영원한 창조주 하나님에게 기도를 드리면서 의식적으로 이런 생각을 계속하면, 하나님은 곧 아버지로서 자신을 드러낼 것이기 때문이다. 기도는 사람과 하나님 사이의 연결을 이루는 다리이다. 그러면 사람은 최고의 보호 아래 거하게 된다. 왜냐면 본질적인 신성이 그를 붙잡고 영을 통해 그에게 역사하고 사람과 하나님 사이의 간격을 점점 더 줄여주기 때문이다. 영은 계속해서 아버지 영에게 향하도록 재촉하고 사랑을 통해 하나님과 완전한 연합이 사람 안에서 이뤄질 때까지 하나님께 더 가까이 다가가려는 갈망이 점점 더 커질 것이다. 그러면 영원한 사랑 자신이 사람 안에서 역사하기 때문에 사랑이 이제 인간의 성품을 충만하게 채우게 된다.
