Wide Street.... temptations.... narrow way to the height....

The road along which most people walk is wide and level, and it leads through beautiful gardens which are walked through with pleasure, it constantly offers variety and will always entice people to linger and savour what seems appealing to the walker.... And he will never need to walk along alone, there will always be people in his company who walk the same path with the same joys and the same hopes as him, because they all only seek worldly pleasures and enjoyments, because they all succumb to the same temptations and therefore one always has understanding for the other's goings-on.... It is the broad road that is trodden by countless people, which only a few avoid in order to walk narrow paths that lead upwards.... These know that the narrow path leads towards another aim, and in the knowledge of this aim they therefore avoid the broad road, which.... unnoticed by people.... and therefore cannot be the right path to the heights. Again and again narrow side roads branch off from the broad road, and messengers will always stand along these roads and offer to guide those who want to leave the broad road and earnestly strive upwards. Only a few will follow their offer, only a few will be able to separate themselves from the broad road of pleasure and lust.... Only a few will respect those who offer themselves to them for guidance.... For wherever a narrow path branches off to the heights, there the broad road offers special pleasures.... there flash so many dazzling lights that the narrow path is overlooked and all strive only towards these lights which lead them ever more astray. This wide road is laid out by the lord of the world, who always sees to it that it does not become dull and boring for its passers-by, and who especially uses all the arts of seduction where the narrow paths branch off upwards. Then the eye remains spellbound, and the person very easily overlooks the side path and falls victim to those arts of seduction. But there are also people who turn away from all these temptations of the world because they recognize their unworthiness and because they pursue a different aim.... to reach God, Who can never be reached by the broad way. And these seek diversions from the broad road, and they gladly and willingly entrust themselves to those who want to lead them upwards. And they also endeavour to entice other people onto the narrow path and hold the right aim up to them and induce them to join them on the path to ascent.... And they will all reach their aim.... They may give up many earthly things, but they receive far more valuable things.... they take possession of the kingdom which offers far more glorious things, but which can only be reached through constant overcoming, but not through earthly pleasures, through worldly enjoyment....

Calle ancha.... tentaciones.... camino estrecho hacia la altura

La calle por la cual la mayoría de la gente pasa es ancha y plana, y pasa por jardines preciosos y la gente pasa gozando de ellos, ofrecen cambios permanentes y siempre seducirá a los hombres a entretenerse y gozar de lo que al hombre parezca tentador.... Y jamás tendrá que pasar solo, siempre hay hombres acompañando que pasan el camino con alegrías y esperanzas iguales como él, porque todos solo buscan alegrías y gozos terrestres, porque están sometidos a tentaciones iguales y por esto tienen un entendimiento mutuo para las tramas del otro.... Esto es la calle ancha, que está transcurrida por un número incontable de gente, solo hay pocos que la evitan para pasar por el camino estrecho que va hacia arriba....

Aquellos saben que el camino estrecho lleva a un reto diferente, y en conocimiento de aquella meta evitan la calle ancha la cual.... inadvertido por la gente.... lleva hacia abajo y por esto no puede llevar al camino auténtico hacia arriba. Una y otra vez se desvían senderos laterales del camino ancho, y se encuentran siempre mensajeros en estos desvíos que ofrecen a tomar las riendas para aquellos que quieren dejar atrás el camino ancho y que buscan llegar hacia arriba con voluntad sería. Solo pocos aceptan esta oferta, pocos se van a poder separarse del camino ancho del goce y del deseo.... Pocos van a prestar atención a los que ofrecen ser guía.... Porque siempre donde se desvía un sendero estrecho hacia arriba, allí el camino ancho ofrece tentaciones mucho más deseables.... allí lucen luces muy brillantes deslumbrantes para que no se vea el camino estrecho y todos buscan a estas luces que van siempre extraviando los cada vez más. Este camino ancho fue formado por aquel señor que siempre ofrece al pasajero entretenimientos para que no se aburra, y que recurre a artes especiales de tentación donde se desvía el sendero hacia arriba. Entonces los ojos se quedan atados y el hombre pasa por alto con facilidad el camino del desvío y cae presa a las tentaciones. Pero existen también hombres que se alejan de estas tentaciones del mundo, porque reconocen la no importancia de su valor y porque persiguen otro reto.... establecer unión con Dios, Aquel que nunca se puede encontrar por el camino ancho. Y aquellos buscan senderos desviándose del camino ancho, y se ponen confiados y voluntariamente a manos de aquellos que les quieren acompañar a la altura. Y se esfuerzan a llevar a otra gente a estos caminos estrechos y presentarles estos retos auténticos y darles ganas de acompañarlos en el camino hacia la altura.... Y todos llegarán a la meta.... Desestiman bastantes cosas en el mundo, pero recibirán un valor mucho más elevado.... toman asiento en el reino que ofrece cosas magníficas pero que solo se puede conseguir a través de superación continua, pero no por alegrías terrestres o gozos terrenales....
