Reason for the spiritual decline Addiction to matter....

A major cause of people's spiritual decline is the ever-increasing addiction to matter. It is like a disease which has overtaken people, which leads to death, it is like an ever tightening shackle which threatens people's lives, for it is not earthly but spiritual life, the life of the soul, which is in danger. For the overwhelming desire for matter finds fulfillment, just as it is always the human being's own will, that determines the state of the soul. Hard matter will one day be its fate, which man so eagerly strives for. It cannot be made comprehensible to man that the desire for matter, for earthly possession, means a step backwards, for he strives for something which he had long since overcome, which meant a hard imprisonment for his soul, which was felt as lack of freedom and therefore as agony by the soul and every redemption from it, every progress in the bound state brought relief to the spiritual. And now, the human being strives for that from which his soul has fled, because it was a shackle. Everything earthly material only serves the body, but the soul, only then when it is overcome, when it stimulates the love of man to activity, to giving, to expressing oneself out of love for the neighbor. Then matter can also be useful for the life of the soul, but it must always be a detachment from it, not a desire for it in self-interest. As long as earthly goods are desired, the desire for spiritual goods does not exist or only to a very small extent, but the soul cannot take anything earthly with it into the spiritual kingdom, but certainly spiritual goods, which alone prepare a blissful state for it. If only people would consider that the next day can already end their earthly life, and that they would therefore make provisions for their stay in the spiritual kingdom.... if only they would consider that all earthly possessions are worthless to them and that what lives on in the spiritual kingdom passes over in utmost poverty, which is the human being's own fault on earth, and which he could easily have averted by collecting spiritual treasures on earth........ if he would consider that earthly life, even if it lasts a long time, is only a moment compared to eternity, but that the soul has to suffer from what the human being missed on earth.... Yet, he can only be reminded time and again of the idleness of his life, he can only be admonished time and again to think ahead and not to waste all his earthly energy on possessions, which are and remain completely worthless. He is in possession of free will and intellect, and can therefore only be instructed, but not forced to live his life in such a way that his soul will enter the spiritual kingdom in a healthy and powerful way.... This is why people will time and again be deprived of what they so ardently desire on earth, the transience of earthly possessions will time and again be brought to their attention, and blessed are those who realize that their purpose of earthly life is different from striving for earthly possessions; blessed are those who reflect and gather spiritual treasures, blessed are those who create and work for the salvation of the soul, for they will be rich and happy in the spiritual kingdom, and will now be able to create and work, because their wealth is imperishable....

Razón del declive espiritual es la adición a la materia....

Una razón para el declive espiritual de la humanidad es la creciente adición a la materia que es cada vez mayor. Es una enfermedad que ha invadido a los hombres que conduce a la muerte, es como un grillete cada vez más duro que amenaza la vida humana, porque no se trata de la vida terrenal sino de la vida espiritual, la vida del alma del alma que está en peligro. Porque el deseo excesivo de materia encuentra satisfacción, como también la voluntad del hombre siempre determina en qué estado se encuentra el alma. La dura materia un día será su destino, por la que el hombre lucha tan ansiosamente.

No es comprensible para el hombre que el deseo de la materia, de las posesiones terrenales, significa un paso atrás, porque se esfuerza por algo que ya había superado hace mucho tiempo, lo que significaba un cautiverio para su alma, lo que se sentía como una atadura y, por lo tanto, una tormenta para el alma y cada salvación de ella, cada progreso en el estado limitado trajo un alivio para lo espiritual. Y ahora el hombre lucha por aquello de lo que escapó su alma, porque era un grillete.

Todo lo material terrenal solo sirve al cuerpo, pero al alma solo cuando es superado, cuando estimula el amor del hombre a la actividad, para dar, por deshacerse, por amor al prójimo. Entonces la materia también puede ser una bendición para la vida del alma, pero siempre tiene que ser un desasimiento de ella, sin ningún deseo de interés propio. Mientras se deseen bienes terrenales, el deseo de bienes espirituales es inexistente o solo en un grado muy pequeño, pero el alma no puede llevar nada terrenal al reino espiritual, pero bien bienes espirituales, que solo le preparan un estado de felicidad.

Si los hombres solo considerasen que el día siguiente puede terminar con la vida terrenal y, por lo tanto, deberían tomar precauciones para la permanencia en el reino espiritual.... si considerasen que todas las propiedades terrenales no valen nada para ellos, y lo que va a seguir viviendo en el reino espiritual pasará allá en gran pobreza, de la cual el hombre mismo en la tierra fue el responsable, que podría haber evitado fácilmente al recoger tesoros espirituales en la tierra.... si quisiera considerar que la vida terrenal, incluso si dura mucho tiempo, es solo un momento, medido por la eternidad, pero que el alma tiene que sufrir lo que el hombre desaprovechó en la tierra.... pero solo puede ser avisado una y otra vez al ralentí de su vida, solo se le puede recordar una y otra vez que piense en el futuro y no desperdicie toda su energía vital terrenal en bienes que son y siguen siendo completamente inútiles.

Él dispone del libre albedrio y del entendimiento humano y, por lo tanto, solo puede ser instruido, pero no obligado de pasar la vida de tal manera que el alma sane y entre en el reino espiritual lleno de fuerza....

Es por eso que a los hombres se les quitará una y otra vez lo que desean tan ardientemente en la tierra, se les mostrará una y otra vez la fugacidad de los bienes terrenales, y bienaventurados, quienes reconocen que su propósito de la vida terrenal es diferente que la búsqueda de bienes terrenales, bienaventurados, quienes reflejan y acumulan tesoros espirituales, benditos que actúan y obran por la salvación del alma, porque serán ricos y felices en el reino espiritual y ahora pueden crear y actuar porque su riqueza es imperecedera....
