Body, soul and spirit.... Explanation....

People cannot understand the relationship between body, soul and spirit, which makes it difficult to explain to them the working of the spirit. The spirit is in opposition to the body, whereas the soul finds itself between both, thus it effectively has to side with either the body or the spirit but it can never pay attention to both. In the beginning of embodiment as a human being the soul is totally attached to the body. Hence it endeavours to fulfil the body's every desire, that is to say thought, feeling and will.... the human soul.... are wholly focussed on the body which, still consisting of matter itself, also seeks to unite with matter. Thus the person will long for material possessions because they epitomise the body's satisfaction. Therefore the spirit will not come into its own, the soul ignores the spirit's demands, the spirit cannot find acceptance because the body is still stronger and completely occupies the soul, thus dominating its thoughts and aspirations. However, the soul can also recognise the worthlessness of earthly things, it can consider its bodily wishes to be unimportant, it can demand more of earthly life than mere material goods.... then the spirit comes into its own.... Then it will express itself and be listened to by the soul. The soul will start to move in a different direction, it will no longer ask for the body but strive for spiritual values. It will accept being taught, that is, it shall willingly accept what the spirit conveys. Indeed, it will feel happy and pay consistently less attention to the body, or it will try to incline the body to do what the spirit demands of the soul.... to renounce earthly matter in exchange for spiritual knowledge. Now the spirit will be victorious over the body. Both spirit and body try to win the soul for themselves. And as soon as the spirit has succeeded in displacing the desires of the body, it is the stronger....

But what is meant by spirit?.... The spirit is the Divine in the human being; it is that which identifies the human being as God's living creation, the spirit is the bond which connects the human being to the eternal Father-Spirit. It is the human being's realisation that he will always be in contact with the Father of eternity. The human being only recognises himself as God's living creation when the spirit becomes active, until then he will merely be conscious of himself as a living being who wants whatever life has to offer. But once the human being recognises himself, the world will no longer mean anything to him. Then he will search for higher values, then his thoughts will be directed towards the spiritual kingdom, then he will try to make contact with the One Who gave him life, then his thoughts will be right and his wishes and actions in accordance with divine will. Then the spirit of God will be working within the person. The soul subsequently will give itself to the spirit to be guided and taught so that body, soul and spirit unite at last and seek unity with God, because the human being's spirit constantly strives towards the Father-Spirit to Whom he is, and remains, inseparably joined for eternity....

Corpo – Anima – Spirito – La spiegazione

Per l’uomo è incomprensibile in quale rapporto stanno vicendevolmente il corpo, l’anima e lo spirito. E per questo è anche difficile da spiegare loro “l’agire” dello spirito. Lo spirito è il contrario del corpo, mentre l’anima si trova in mezzo ai due, quindi si deve in certo qual modo decidere per il corpo o per lo spirito, ma non può mai rivolgersi contemporaneamente ad ambedue. L’anima all’inizio dell’incorporazione come uomo, è dedita totalmente al corpo. L’anima dell’uomo ha quindi la tendenza a soddisfare tutti i desideri del corpo, cioè pensare, percepire e volere, essi sono soltanto predisposti per il corpo perché egli stesso è ancora materia e cerca di unirsi alla materia. Quindi l’uomo avrà solamente dei desideri per i beni materiali, perché questi sono la quintessenza di ciò che piace al corpo. Lo spirito non arriva quasi per nulla ad essere stimato, l’anima non ascolta ciò che le dice lo spirito. Non può affermarsi, perché il corpo ha ancora il privilegio ed impegna l’anima in tutto e per tutto, cioè domina il suo sentimento e la sua tendenza.

L’anima può anche riconoscere la non validità delle cose terrene, può considerare non importante il desiderio del corpo, può pretendere di più dalla vita terrena che solamente beni materiali. Allora lo spirito giunge al suo diritto. Ora egli si esprime nei confronti dell’anima e viene da lei ascoltato. L’anima comincia a dirigersi in un’altra direzione, ora non chiede più niente per il corpo, ma tende verso beni spirituali, si lascia istruire, cioè accetta senza resistenza ciò che le trasmette lo spirito, anzi si sente felice e bada sempre meno al suo corpo oppure cerca di rendere anche lui incline a ciò che lo spirito chiede all’anima: di deporre la materia terrena, per scambiare beni spirituali. Ora lo spirito ha vinto sul corpo. Ambedue, spirito e corpo cercano di vincere per sé l’anima e quando riesce allo spirito di respingere i desideri della carne, egli è vincitore. Ma che cosa è da intendersi per “spirito”? -

Lo spirito è il Divino nell’uomo, e ciò che caratterizza gli uomini come creature divine, lo spirito è il legame che unisce l’uomo con lo Spirito del Padre dall’Eternità. E’ la consapevolezza nell’uomo di essere unito dall’Eternità con lo Spirito del Padre. Appena entra in azione, solo allora l’uomo si riconosce come “creatura di Dio”, prima è consapevole di sé soltanto come essere vivente, che vorrebbe conquistare tutto ciò che la vita gli offre. Ma quando l’uomo si riconosce, allora il mondo non gli significa più nulla, allora cerca beni superiori, allora i suoi pensieri sono rivolti al Regno spirituale allora cerca di entrare in comunicazione con Colui il Quale gli ha dato la Vita, allora il suo pensare è giusto ed il suo volere ed agire corrispondenti alla Volontà divina. Allora opera quindi lo spirito da Dio nell’uomo al Quale ora l’anima si dedica, la guida e l’ammaestra affinché corpo, anima e spirito diventino ora uno e stabiliscano l’unione con Dio, perché lo spirito spinge ininterrottamente verso lo Spirito del Padre, con il Quale è legato e lo rimane in tutte le Eternità.
