Responsibility for accepting misguided teachings....

It is very difficult for people to disassociate themselves from knowledge they were taught from an early age on and which they therefore do not want to renounce as misguided. They accepted this knowledge without thinking about it and since their education is not their fault they cannot, at first, be held responsible for accepting wrong doctrines. Nevertheless, as soon as they are able to use their intellect themselves it is their duty to scrutinise whether this spiritual knowledge is true. And they will have to be answerable as to whether they used their intellect as soon as they were able to do so. They should not accept all spiritual values as truth without scrutiny, neither can they justify themselves on the basis that they received this knowledge and are therefore innocent if they endorse it during their earthly life. They forget that they are responsible for their souls. They forget that I do not punish them but that they punish themselves, that is, that they remain in their state of imperfection, which can never result in their bliss.... but that I cannot release them from this state because their redemption requires their active free will which they, however, did not use correctly or they would have used their intellect to examine these spiritual doctrines. They remained passive. To a certain extent they allowed themselves to be imposed by something which they could just as well have rejected if they had wanted to.

The fact that people are answerable for their souls means that they have to recognise their guilt, that they have to realise that their wretched position was their own fault and justly identify and admit their own neglect, thus they cannot unburden themselves at the expense of those who instructed them wrongly. Indeed, these teachers, too, will one day have to be accountable according to their guilt, yet someone who accepts misguided teachings is not exonerated from guilt, since I have given the human being intellect which he should use for the salvation of his soul first. Anyone who seriously wants the truth will make an effort and find it too. And every instruction offered to the person has to be reviewed if it claims to be true. Thus the human being is duty bound to compare the spiritual knowledge imparted to him with those teachings, and the right will shall also yield the right results. Yet the state of his soul after his death depends on the person’s attitude towards the truth conveyed to him by My will.... full of light or darkness.... For only truth gives light to the soul, whereas error keeps the soul in darkness in which it had languished at the beginning of its earthly course of life as a human being but which it could have escaped had it used its will correctly....

De verantwoordelijkheid voor het aannemen van dwaalleren

De mensen maken zich te moeilijk los van een weten dat hun van jongs afaan werd aangeleerd en dat ze daarom niet als onjuist willen prijsgeven. Zonder nadenken hebben ze dit weten aangenomen en daar ze geen schuld hebben aan hun opvoeding, kunnen ze voorlopig niet ter verantwoording worden geroepen voor het aannemen van valse leerstellingen. Maar zodra ze zelf hun verstand kunnen gebruiken, is het ook hun plicht elke geestelijke opvatting te onderzoeken op zijn waarachtigheid. En ze zullen zich moeten verantwoorden of ze hun verstand lieten werken zodra ze daartoe in staat waren. Maar ze mogen niet elke geestelijke opvatting voor waar houden zonder onderzoek, zoals ze zich ook niet kunnen rechtvaardigen met de reden dat ze dat weten ontvangen hebben en dus zonder schuld zijn, wanneer ze het gedurende hun leven op aarde voor waar houden.

Ze vergeten dat ze voor hun ziel de verantwoordelijkheid dragen, ze vergeten dat niet IK hen straf, maar dat ze zichzelf straffen, d.w.z. dat ze in een toestand van onvolkomenheid vertoeven, waarin ze nooit zalig kunnen worden, maar dat IK hen niet uit deze toestand verlossen kan, omdat hun vrije wil werkzaam moet worden t.b.v. deze verlossing'maar dat ze de wil niet goed hebben gebruikt, daar ze anders hun verstand hadden benut om die geestelijke opvattingen te onderzoeken. Ze bleven werkeloos, ze lieten zich in zekere zin iets opdringen wat ze ook konden afwijzen als ze dat wilden.

Als de mensen zich nu voor hun ziel moeten verantwoorden, wil dat zeggen dat ze hun schuld moeten inzien, dat ze hun ongelukkige Staat als eigen schuld en rechtvaardig inzien en hun eigen verzuim moeten toegeven, zich dus niet kunnen vrijspreken ten koste van diegenen die hen verkeerd hebben onderwezen. Wel moeten ook deze leraren zich eens verantwoorden overeenkomstig hun schuld, maar wie dwaalleren aanneemt, is niet vrij te spreken van schuld, daar IK de mens het verstand gegeven heb, dat hij op de eerste plaats voor zijn zieleheil moet gebruiken.

Wie het nu serieus te doen is om de waarheid, doet daar ook zijn best voor en zal ze ook vinden. En elke onderrichting die de mens wordt aangeboden, moet onderzocht worden als ze aanspraak maakt op waarheid. Dus heeft ook de mens de plicht de hem overgebrachte geestelijke leringen met die leerstellingen te vergelijken en de juiste wil om te onderzoeken zal ook juiste resultaten opleveren.

Maar zoals de instelling van de mens is, als hem door Mijn Wil de waarheid wordt gebracht, zo is ook de toestand van zijn ziel nà zijn dood - vol Licht of duister. Want alleen de waarheid geeft Licht aan de ziel, terwijl dwaling de ziel in duisternis laat vertoeven, waarin ze bij het begin van haar weg over de aarde als mens heeft gekwijnd, die ze echter heel makkelijk kon ontvluchten als ze haar wil juist gebruikt zou hebben.
