Pre-humans.... creation illustrated....

You must visualize the development of every work of creation in order to gain the conviction that the human being also had to cover an infinitely long period of development before he reached the stage where he could think, speak and act in free will. To a certain extent, an outer form had to be formed which was suitable for any kind of activity; furthermore, an organic activity had to be possible for this outer form which served the preservation of the body. But this outer form first had to come into being in the most primitive way and in the course of a long time had to refine itself, that is, it took a long time for this outer form to develop in such a way that intellect and free will were added to it and it could now carry out any activity rationally. From this it follows that there was no sudden creation of the human being by God, although this was certainly easily possible for Him but did not correspond to His wisdom and love, but that a slowly ascending development preceded, the product of which is the human being who is capable of thinking, wanting freely and carrying out deeds, who could now also be held responsible for his thinking, wanting and doing. Therefore, before the fully developed human being there were already human-like living beings on earth on different levels of development, but temporally there was no great difference, so that at the same time the whole earth was (not) animated. (crossed out and changed in brackets in the handwriting) by the living being that could lay claim to the name man, that was therefore in possession of free will and a well-developed intellect and thus capable of acquiring a certain degree of knowledge.

And this being multiplied according to divine will and divine order, for every work of creation, including the human being, is subject to divine natural law, and it is guided and determined to act in accordance with nature, on which its existence also depends. He can certainly also violate this natural law, but this also endangers his physical life as a human being on earth as well as his soul life, for whose (the soul's) further development the external form was given to him (the soul).

(8.5.1948) For the sake of the high aim man also had to be given abilities by God which can let him reach this aim if free will is seriously directed towards it. The human being must acquire abilities himself, he must develop his talents and strive to attain the highest maturity of soul. Thus, even as a human being he must continue to develop, and no longer according to his external form, but his thinking, willing and acting must be directed towards his inner form, so that at the end of his earthly career a being will enter the spiritual kingdom which resembles the originally created being, just as it came from God's source.... The act of creation is therefore a process which extended over a long period of time but which was presented to people as it was comprehensible to them, for the creature's state of imperfection results in ignorance, in the inability to understand the deepest motives of creation, its meaning and purpose and its final aim, and the final aim of the creatures placed on earth by God, for which reason knowledge had to be offered to the latter in a form that gave a rough outline of God's rule and activity, in order to make the creation of the earth and all living creatures understandable to men in a pictorial way. But as soon as the human being achieves the shaping into love in free will, as soon as he develops the ability within himself to receive spiritual instructions, as soon as he is mentally in contact with the spiritual kingdom, he will also know about the pure truth, about the slow upward development of all creation and thus also of the human being, who, as the crown of creation, is the only living being which can change ignorance into a high degree of knowledge, to whom therefore also the ability was given to recognize God and His working, which reveals love, wisdom and omnipotence. Once a person has acquired this knowledge he will also be able to explain the figurative comparison which was once given to the ancients who, if they were pious and God-fearing, understood its true meaning. Faithless people, on the other hand, regard every depiction of creation as untrue or unacceptable, and they reject it without knowing the truth or being able to oppose it with better knowledge. But even if the truth could be offered to them clearly and comprehensibly, they would reject it because their intellect cannot grasp it, since their hearts are without love....

아담 이전의 인류. 창조의 과정을 비유로 묘사했다.

너희는 모든 창조 작품의 성장 과정을 관찰해야만 한다. 이로써 너희 인간도 자유의지로 생각하고, 말하고, 행할 수 있는 단계에 도달하기 전에 끝없이 긴 성장 기간을 거쳐야만 했다는 확신을 얻어야 한다. 어떤 종류의 활동에 적합한 겉형체가 형성돼야만 했고, 더 나아가 이 겉형체가 신체의 유지에 기여하는 유기적 활동이 가능해야만 했다. 그러나 이런 겉형체가 처음에는 가장 원시적인 방식으로 생성되었고, 오랜 기간에 걸쳐 자신을 세밀하게 만들어야만 했다. 그러므로 겉형체에게 이성과 자유의지를 부여하게 되고, 이제 모든 활동을 이성적으로 수행할 수 있도록 겉형체가 생성되기까지 오랜 시간이 걸렸다.

이를 통해 하나님에 의해 사람이 갑작스럽게 창조되지 않았다는 것을 알 수 있다. 하나님에 의해 사람이 갑작스럽게 창조되는 일이 하나님에게 가능하지만, 그런 일은 하나님의 지혜와 사랑과 일치하지는 않는 일이고, 서서히 성장하는 과정이 선행되었고, 그의 산물은 생각할 능력이 있고, 자유의지를 가지고 일할 수 있는 사람이었다. 사람에게 이제 그의 생각과 의지와 행동에 대해 책임을 물을 수 있게 되었다. 그러므로 완전히 발달된 인간 이전에 이미 서로 다른 성장 단계에 있는, 그러나 시간 측면에서 큰 차이가 없었고, 그러므로 동시에 이 땅의 전체에 살던 인간과 유사한 인간이라는 불리울 수 있는 생명체가 이 땅에 살고 있었다. 즉 이런 생명체들은 자유의지를 가지고 있었고, 완전히 발달된 이성을 가지고 있었고, 이로써 그들은 어느 정도의 성장 정도에 도달할 수 있었다.

이런 존재들이 하나님의 질서에 따라 하나님의 의지대로 증가했다. 왜냐면 인간을 포함한 모든 창조물들은 하나님의 자연 법칙 아래 종속되어 있고, 창조물들은 인도를 받고, 자연에 맞추어 행하도록 정함을 받았고, 이런 행동에 창조물이 유지되는 일이 달려 있었기 때문이다. 존재는 실제 자연 법칙을 위반할 수 있었다. 그러나 이런 위반하는 일을 통해 그는 인간으로서 이 땅에서 그의 육체적인 삶을 위태롭게 하고 또한 혼이 계속 성장하도록 혼에게 겉형체가 주어진 그의 혼의 삶을 위태롭게 한다.

(1948년 5월 8일) 하나님은 인간이 자유의지가 진지하게 높은 목표를 달성하려고 하면, 높은 목표에 도달할 수 있도록 하기 위해 인간에게 능력을 줘야만 했고, 인간은 자신이 이 능력을 습득해야만 한다. 인간은 자신 안의 재능을 개발해야만 하고, 이를 통해 혼이 최고의 성숙한 정도에 도달하기 위해 노력해야만 한다. 그러므로 인간은 또한 인간으로서 계속 성장해야만 한다. 그러나 더 이상 외적인 형체를 성장시키는 일이 아니고, 그의 내면을 형성해 생각과 의지와 행동을 성장시키는 일이다. 이로써 그의 이 땅의 삶이 끝날 때, 하나님에 의해 창조된 것과 같은 원래 창조된 존재처럼 되어 영의 나라에 들어갈 수 있게 돼야 한다.

그러므로 창조의 역사는 오랜 기간에 걸쳐 이뤄진 역사이다. 그러나 창조의 역사가 사람들이 이해할 수 있게 사람들에게 제시되었다. 왜냐면 창조물의 온전하지 못한 상태가 무지하게 만들고, 창조의 가장 깊은 동기를 찾을 수 없게 하고, 창조물의 존재 의미와 목적과, 하나님이 이 땅의 피조물들에게 준 최종 목표를 깨달을 수 없게 하기 때문이다. 그러므로 사람들에게 창조의 역사에 대한 지식을 하나님의 사역과 역사에 대한 대략적인 개요를 제공하는 형식으로 줘야만 했다. 이로써 사람들이 비유를 통해 이 땅의 창조와 모든 생명체의 창조를 이해할 수 있게 했다.

그러나 사람이 자유의지로 자신을 사랑으로 형성하고, 영적 가르침을 받을 수 있는 능력을 자신 안에서 개발하고, 생각을 통해 영의 나라와 연결을 이루면, 그는 또한 순수한 진리를 알게 될 것이고, 모든 피조물이 서서히 성장하는 것을 알게 될 것이다. 그러므로 그는 또한 창조의 면류관이고, 무지한 상태를 높은 수준의 지식을 가진 상태로 바꿀 수 있는 유일한 생명체이고 또한 사랑과 지혜와 전능함을 알게 해주는 하나님과 하나님의 역사를 깨달을 능력이 주어진 인간의 성장에 대해 알게 될 것이다.

사람이 이런 지식을 얻으면, 그는 또한 한때 고대인에게 주어졌던 비유를 설명할 수 있게 된다. 고대인이 경건하고 하나님을 경외하는 사람이면, 그도 또한 정확한 의미를 이해했다. 반면에 믿지 않는 사람들은 창조물에 대한 모든 설명을 사실이 아니거나 용납할 수 없는 것으로 여기고 진리를 모르거나 또한 더 나은 지식으로 진리를 반박할 수 없는 가운데 거부한다. 그러나 이런 사람들에게 진리가 분명하고 이해하기 쉽게 제공될 수 있지만, 그들은 진리를 거부할 것이다. 왜냐면 그들의 심장에 사랑이 없기 때문에 그들의 이성이 이해하지 못하기 때문이다.
