Combating error.... darkness.... truth....

Unusual hardship necessitates unusual help, and unusual hardship is when people walk along in error, for error is darkness, error is ignorance of truth and therefore a path which can never lead to the aim. But the aim is God, and if God cannot be reached, if this is made impossible, urgent help is needed. Error must be fought and the pure truth offered in return, for only truth is the path to eternal life. Therefore, truth must take an unusual path so that it will be recognized and heeded as such.... It must so obviously reveal the divine outcome that people will stop and pay attention to what is offered to them, only then will they weigh it up against error and allow themselves to be taught that they have to take a different path in order to reach the aim. However, as long as they hold on to error the blessing of truth remains hidden from them.... the strength which harbours and emanates divine truth.... People must first observe the commandment of love, only then will they be able to recognize the pure truth and free themselves from error; for the recognition of truth as such and thus the rejection of error requires strength of judgment which is the result of unselfish activity of love. And so that the human being will take it seriously, because it is necessary for the pure truth to permeate earth, God conveys this truth to earth in an unusual way through His word, which He imparts to a person through the voice of the spirit, and He urgently admonishes them to be lovingly active.... so that the darkness will disappear, so that the path which people should take and which will safely lead to the aim will lie brightly and clearly before them. People live without seriously considering their soul's development, and yet many believe that they can fulfil their earthly task by fulfilling certain duties and customs which, however, do not increase their soul's maturity in the slightest. And this is the error which is extremely damaging for people's souls and therefore cannot be fought seriously enough. Only the fulfilment of the divine commandment of love contributes towards increasing the soul's maturity, and as long as love is not practiced all spiritual progress is impossible. But error, by which countless people are ensnared, must also be branded as error, otherwise it cannot be discarded and replaced by pure truth. As long as people believe that they can gain God's pleasure by obeying human commandments, as long as they consider them important and only pay attention to and try to obey the divine commandment of love secondarily, they will waste energy without making any progress. For error does not lead to God.... i.e., even if people excel in obeying humanly decreed commandments, they will not come one step closer to God as a result but they have to fulfil His commandment which demands love for their neighbour and which does not require any external confirmations but is only a matter of the heart. To use all strength for activity in unselfish neighbourly love is in accordance with God's will, and anyone who strives for this will also be in possession of the pure truth and recognize error as such, he will try to discard it and attain maturity of soul, he will reach his aim of coming close to God....

오류에 맞서 싸우는 일. 어두움과 진리.

특별한 위험이 특별한 도움이 필요하게 한다. 특별한 위험은 사람들이 오류 가운데 사는 일이다. 왜냐면 오류는 어두움이고, 어두움은 진리를 깨닫지 못하는 것이고, 그러므로 길이 절대로 목표로 인도할 수 없기 때문이다. 그러나 목표는 하나님이다. 하나님께 도달할 수 없고, 하나님께 도달하는 일을 불가능하게 만들면, 긴급하게 도움이 필요하고, 오류에 대항해 싸워야만 하고, 대신에 순수한 진리가 제공돼야만 한다. 왜냐면 단지 진리가 영원한 생명에 이르는 길이기 때문이다.

그러므로 진리가 특별한 길을 택해야만 한다. 이로써 진리가 진리로 깨달음을 받을 수 있게 되야 한다. 진리가 명백하게 하나님이 근원임을 깨달을 수 있게 해야만 한다. 이로써 사람들이 놀라, 그들에게 제공된 것에 주의를 기울이게 해야 한다. 그러면 그들은 비로소 진리를 오류와 비교하게 되고, 그들이 목표에 도달하기 위해 다른 길을 택해야만 한다는 가르침을 받아드릴 것이다. 그러나 그들이 오류를 붙잡고 있는 동안에는, 진리의 축복이, 하나님의 진리를 담고 발산하는 힘이 그들에게 숨겨져 있게 된다.

사람들은 먼저 사랑의 계명을 지켜야만 한다. 그러면 그들이 비로소 순수한 진리를 깨닫고 오류에서 벗어날 수 있다. 왜냐면 진리를 진리로 깨닫고, 이로써 오류를 거부하기 위해서는 자신의 유익을 구하지 않는 사랑의 결과인 판단력이 필요하기 때문이다. 순수한 진리가 이 땅에 전해지는 일이 필요하기 때문에, 사람이 이를 진지하게 받아들이도록, 하나님은 특별한 방식으로 영의 음성을 통해 인간에게 전해주는 자신의 말씀을 통해 진리를 이 땅에 전한다. 하나님은 긴급하게 사람에게 사랑을 행하라고 권고한다. 이로써 어두움이 물러가게 하고, 사람들 앞에 그들이 가야 하고, 목표에 안전하게 도달하게 하는 길이 밝고 분명하게 놓이게 한다.

사람들은 자신의 혼을 형성시키는 일을 진지하게 생각하지 않고 살고 있다. 그러나 아직 많은 사람들이 어떤 의무와 관습을 이행함으로 이 땅의 과제를 성취했다고 믿는다. 그러나 이런 일은 그들의 혼의 성장에 전혀 기여하지 않고, 이런 일은 오류이고, 사람들의 혼에 큰 해를 끼친다. 따라서 아무리 진지하게 그에 대항하여 싸워도 충분하게 싸울 수 없다. 단지 하나님의 사랑의 계명이 성취시키는 일이 혼을 성숙하게 한다. 사랑을 행하지 않는 동안에는 어떤 영적인 성장도 불가능하다.

그러나 수많은 사람들이 빠져 있는 오류는 또한 오류로 확정해야만 한다. 그렇지 않으면 사람이 오류를 버리고 순수한 진리로 대체할 수 없다. 사람들이 인간의 계명에 순종함으로 하나님을 기쁘게 할 수 있다고 믿는 동안에는, 사람들이 인간의 계명을 중요하게 여기고, 하나님의 사랑의 계명을 차선으로 여기는 동안에는, 그들은 한 걸음도 더 성장하지 못하고 힘을 낭비하게 된다.

왜냐면 오류는 하나님께 인도하지 않기 때문이다. 즉 사람들이 사람이 만든 계명을 아주 잘 지킬지라도, 이를 통해 그들은 하나님께 한 발짝도 더 가까이 다가가지 못하고, 그들은 이웃 사랑을 요구하고, 전혀 외적인 행동이 필요 없고, 단지 심장이 관련된 하나님의 계명을 실천해야만 한다. 자신의 유익을 구하지 않는 이웃사랑을 위해 모든 힘을 사용하는 일은 하나님의 뜻에 따른 일이다. 이렇게 행하기 위해 추구하는 사람은 또한 순수한 진리를 소유하게 될 것이고, 오류를 오류로 깨닫게 될 것이다. 그는 오류를 버리려고 시도할 것이고, 혼의 성장에 도달하게 될 것이고, 그의 목표에 도달할 것이고, 하나님 가까이로 다가가게 될 것이다.
