Tests.... struggle.... will to resist....

Every test on earth is a rung on the ladder upwards as soon as the human being passes it and thus his soul matures on it.... Every test is, so to speak, a phase of battle which ends in victory or defeat, and the human being has to fight as long as he lives if he wants to gain an advantage for his soul. Every test forces him to make a decision of will, and how he decides is decisive for his spiritual development. Good and evil forces will always try to persuade the human being to join them; the evil forces will tempt him with the goods of the world or other earthly pleasures, whereas the forces of light can only use spiritual goods but these are not very desirable for people who are earthly minded. But such trials have to come upon them in order to urge them to make a decision; for the human being has to prove his will to resist by taking refuge in God and pleading for strength in prayer and thereby climbing a rung on the ladder of his development. For every connection with God and appeal for strength leads him upwards. But if he succumbs to temptation and prefers earthly goods to spiritual goods, then he stops on the step of his development. He does not take up the fight with the tempter, but gives himself up to him. Every resistance strengthens his power and he will pass every next test more easily, whereas the weaker the person, the less will he musters to resist, until he allows himself to be used by God's adversary as a tool for his evil plans.... This is why a life without struggle will never be granted to a person because it signifies a standstill in his development, and a spiritually striving person will also be exposed to many trials which, however, are always signs that his soul is being fought for on the part of the spiritual power. And he should always entrust himself to the forces of light, he should leave himself to them, and he will pass every battle victoriously, for his will gives them the right to help him, and then he will also remain victorious in the face of every temptation, and he will ascend step by step....

시험. 노력. 저항하려는 의지.

사람이 이 땅의 모든 시험을 통과하고, 이로써 그의 혼이 성숙해지면, 이 땅의 모든 시험은 사다리의 디딤판이다. 모든 시험은 한편으로 승리 또는 패배로 끝나는 싸움의 단계이다. 사람은 자신의 혼을 위한 유익을 얻으려면, 그가 사는 동안 싸워야만 한다. 모든 시험은 그로 하여금 자발적인 결정을 내리도록 강요하고, 그가 어떻게 결정하는 지가 그의 영적 성장에 결정적이다. 선한 세력과 악한 세력은 항상 사람들이 자신들에게 합류하도록 움직이려고 노력할 것이다. 악한 세력들은 사람들에게 세상의 재물이나 다른 세상의 기쁨을 제시하는 법을 알고 유혹할 것이다. 반면에 빛의 세력들은 단지 영적인 재물을 사용할 수 있다. 그러나 이런 재물은 세상적인 생각을 가진 사람들에게 적게 갈망할 만하게 보인다.

결정을 촉구하기 위해 시련이 그들에게 닥쳐야만 한다. 왜냐면 사람이 하나님께 도피하고, 기도로 힘을 간구하면서 자신의 저항하려는 의지를 증명해야만 하기 때문이다. 이로써 그는 자신의 성장의 사다리로 올라가야 한다. 왜냐면 하나님과의 모든 연결과 힘을 요구하는 일이 그를 높은 곳으로 인도하기 때문이다. 그러나 그가 유혹을 받고 영적인 재물보다 세상 재물을 더 선호한다면, 그는 자신의 성장 단계에 머물게 되고, 유혹자와 싸우지 않고, 자신이 유혹자에게 포로가 되게 한다.

모든 저항은 그의 힘을 강하게 하고, 그는 다른 다음 시험을 더 쉽게 통과할 것이다. 반면에 저항하려는 의지가 적어질수록, 연약한 사람은 약해지고, 그가 의지가 없이 완전히 하나님의 대적자가 그의 악한 계획을 위한 도구로 자신을 사용하게 허용하는 정도에까지 도달한다. 그러므로 투쟁이 없는 삶은 절대로 사람에게 주어지지 않을 것이다. 왜냐면 그런 일은 그의 성장이 멈추는 일을 의미하고, 영을 추구하는 사람은 또한 영의 권세 편에서 그의 혼을 얻기 위한 싸움이 있다는 신호인 많은 시험에 항상 노출이 될 것이기 때문이다. 그는 항상 빛의 세력들에게 자신을 의탁해야 하고, 자신을 그들에게 맡겨야 한다. 그는 모든 싸움에서 승리할 것이다. 왜냐면 그의 의지가 빛의 세력들에게 자신을 도울 권리를 부여하기 때문이다. 그러면 그는 또한 모든 유혹에 대해 승리하고, 그는 한 단계 한 단계 성장해 나간다.
